Uhh, that thread was a community member asking what happened to the weapon customization system (which you describe as trolling). I’m not sure how you interpret that as “Fatshark announcing it’s cancelled”
No the trolling was done by 1 dude after a while. Called Greene iirc.
Most people were not trolling in that thread
The question remains how you consider that thread to be a cancellation announcement by the devs. It’s literally a thread that sprang up as a direct result of the lack of clarification from Fatshark.
Well I would love to find the thread but I can’t find it, so if you have a link stop stalling and post it.
The thread was deleted off the forums so no I don’t have it either. Screenshots survived. It stands to reason that a Fatshark announcement wouldn’t get deleted, and it stands to reason that a thread of the topic of “where is our customization system?” wasn’t made by the devs themselves lmao. If they had ever actually made an official announcement and cancelled those plans, you would have no problem linking to that fact. Let’s not hallucinate facts.
To be clear, to my knowledge they never clarified or explained anything about the weapon customization system. We don’t know wether it may still come, wether it’s definitely scrapped, we don’t know anything. They’ve said absolutely nothing about it as far as I know, the singular piece of info we have on it is Hedge saying “this isn’t COD” which isn’t exactly very informative.
@Mayson You were in that thread too iirc. what do you remember of it.
I mean I’m just gonna say this, but no amount of anecdotes is going to make me believe that Fatshark made an official announcement saying weapon customization is cancelled and then deleted it and somehow you’re the only person who remembers it. And somehow the only remnant of this event we have left is the screenshots of someone asking “where’s the weapon customization?” as if that thread wouldn’t have answered that if true.
The far more likely explanation is just that Fatshark never clarified. Which is why threads like this exist; people still hold out hope for it and remember the advertising including it. But there’s no info.
Hard? Not at all. Admitting they spent the last two years plus defending their decision to not make good on a promised feature because they were too lazy and incompetent? Pretty much impossible. I mean the players are still owed a number of “get on your knees and beg for forgiveness” level apologies over the staffs conduct for the last two years.
Being called “pearl clutchers” by a CM, having patch notes after patch note where fairly substantial changes weren’t documented, whole Xbox getting several times the amount of free currency as pre-order/ Imperial edition PC users got for a full year of paid beta testing, etc. Not a single “we are sorry”.
And people wonder why I refuse to give the staff so much as a drop of patience. Its as if they have all forgetten that trust & loyalty goes both ways and so far ObeseTuna is has been doing a whole lot of taking and very little in the way of giving.
