Add the customization system already, work on it, fulfil your damn promise!

listen, i know what some people will say, and i’m going to respond before they say it. I DON’T GIVE A DAMN THAT THIS ISN’T CALL OF DUTY, THE CUSTOMIZATION SYSTEM WAS PROMISED, I WANT THAT PROMISE FULFILLED.

and now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, we can move to the actual post.

i understand that customization systems are hard, but that doesn’t mean you lot at fatshark should go back on your promise and NEVER GIVE ANOTHER DAMN WORD ABOUT IT! we deserve an update that gives us the promised features, i don’t care if it isn’t a priority right now, it SHOULD be, your number one order of business should be to fulfil the promises that you made and if you can’t then you should give a valid and reasonable excuse as to why so that the players don’t HATE YOU FOR YOUR LIES.

give us some news on the customization update, and no, don’t try to say that the shrine being
finally finished, the mastery system, and the locks being removed is the customization system, it isn’t, that is the crafting and mastery system, we DESERVE our customization system.

instead of just using the same weapons we’ve BEEN using. hell, you could add the customization in with the mastery system, just have every weapon that can have its special changed (I.E. not the plazma gun, the flamethrower, or the staves) use push and the ones that can’t be customized via the sights or the special just won’t have any customization.

the unlocking should go like so. every 3rd or 4th level will have a sight or a special activation along with its normal reward unless it is a weapon that doesn’t have those, then it will have just its normal reward.

cosmetics given to the weapon will effect the sight and special activation as well, unless one or the other can’t be seen. in that event, only the one that can be seen is effected.

there, made the plan, now it just needs to be followed, now do what you promised already and ADD CUSTOMIZATION!

I would love to see customization as well as solo mode. Both features were mentioned in PR campaign. Also ability to change color and pattern for drip like in SM2.

I almost sure they will add solo at some point, but alas other two things will probably never come. Ill be so glad to be wrong on this

As always the customisation thread talk only about guns.

The only time they mentioned attachments was by Andresson, the team leader of the Combat team (Has left FS earlier this year).

So yes it was planned, and was in part in the game. But it got cancelled (and that was announced, in the thread where Hedge said the CoD line) due to problems that the system brought.

Nothing more to be said. It’s not something that was announced everywhere, it’s not something that were on the steam pages.

Then find a way to do it without impacting the balance of gun more than it does the other weapons (melees, staves…)

actually, this won’t impact anything beyond just making it so that we have more customization options, thus more comfort in our weapons.

i’m sure it would have been easy enough to just figure out a way past it to make weapon customization happen, and if it wasn’t, they could have at least announced it in game and shipped it with just sight customization at the shrine.

Considering how the locks were implemented and that it would not change… and that it was dropped with the unlocked patch… I would not say that the story is ended.
Especially considering that:

  • they already have everything need in game
  • that there are several mods about this
  • everything that it would give to players (player agency)

The light on one gun for the ogryn, cannot be a true answer… yes this is fatshark, but it looks more a bad joke than a real answer.
I can’t believe it was a serious answer of the lack of weapons with a light on the Ogryn. But knowing better Fatshark, they could really think that it is a legit answer… however, it is not.

would his departure from fatshark leave a significant gap?
they said they would add new enemies to darktide, but the only addition this year was the reskinned toxic Bomber. there hasn’t been any completely original enemy types or bosses added at all.

Since the release, there was significant additions.
Enemies, there was only dreg bomber.
About bosses, there are the twins, the captain on the train and the chaos spawn.

I want more, but let’s remain objective. They added bosses.
However, I want more enemies type. Actually we had just the dreg bomber (that I love cause it is an annoying one that can put lot of pressure on the team).

It means an enemy that was added after he left fatshark.
In that sense, the boss is only the train captain, but I assume the animations and attack patterns are probably the same as the existing bosses.

Anyways you’re correct to point that there’s a need for more. The captain are a little too much similar. However, the twins are really different, but the characters look too similar of the other captains.
Must say that the CS was the greatest addition, in term of bosses, to the game.

But this is an other topic…
And actually, I am behind the OP. I want weapon customization.

Andresson’s team is the weapon one, not the enemy if I understood correctly.

As for whether or not his leaving is a big thing or not, difficult to say.

FS often have a lot of different thing in the oven, so even the weapons we get now might have been in part made by Andersson. But he wasn’t alone, so his team most likely will be able to deliver weapons to the quality that he had.

The customisation mods we have, allowed me to change ugly a-s pickaxes ogryn has.
To sweet two handed double bladed axes.
