Mutants should not be throwing players directly in to the downswing of a crusher’s maul. This has happened to me on more than one occasion, and it is infuriating to say the absolute least. Also, give Psyker players some sort of chance against the waves of mutants. We already have a much lower dodge than zealot/veteran, but we have far less toughness and health. Either make the mutant waves be made up of a weakened variant to where we can land a melee hit to kill them, or ensure that the entire wave does NOT target a single player.
I think mutant waves allready have less hp
They already are. They just don’t have a visual indicator like dogs do to my knowledge.
This depends on the weapon. I know the Deimos and staves have pretty bad dodges but the illisi and Dueling Swords have good ones. The other weapons would be equivalent with Vet and Zealot.
Psykers are roughy equivalent to veterans, not including Voice of Command builds.
Additionally if you run a Dueling Sword, at least on DD you can 1 tap headshot Mutants charging you, and with how fast it is you can kill mutie waves super easily as they file 1 by 1 into your sword. Using heavy 2 on the Deimost is also good against them.
Additionally both the Psychic wall shield and the autogun are good options to deal with Waves of mutants.
It was worse, you used to get sniped during a mutant grab.
There’s definitely another pass to be made on some of the remaining get gud comboes the heretics can instantly down you through advanced extended states of not being able to play (like a nurgle blessed spawn holding you for a snack while a second nurgle blessed spawn continues to beat on you). There’s even still a bunch of areas the mutie is able to throw you near ledges where you’ll either bounce and then fall off or direct down to a ledge on a lower level if vertical scaling is involved. I made a clip of a mutie throwing me down the other side of the quarantine after we had done the mid level event on hab dreyko the other day. I didn’t die from the Zealot passive so I just ran around and made a short clip.
Personally the one I hate the most that can happen outside of Maelstroms is a mutant running through a chaos spawn to grab you, and the chaos spawn killing you while the mutant holds you in place.
Has happened to me twice in the past week and is incredibly infuriating. I would be more fine with it if the Mutie didn’t run through the spawn to grab me.
They have the exact same indicator as weakened dogs.
They have green shiny eyes.
Although it is not that obvious, because the little shiny trail that the dog eyes leave, is not visible due to the mutant’s fat body (at least i assume that’s why).
I didn’t think they did. I thought that was only after running through Tox Gas. And if that is their visual indicator, it needs to be changed since they added tox gas.
Additionally the lower health dogs have a completely different skin from the normal ones and are a lot redder.

Being pigeonholed in to one type of melee weapon that does not allow you to quell peril makes this modifier even worse for me. I know I know, git gud, but I really just can’t get into the dueling swords. I want to feel like the magic man.
None of the staves are great for it, but like I mentioned Deimos light heavy combo is still a very strong option for it. And illisi is workable if you have support from team mates with its better dodge and decent damage, especially if there is some trash to get slaughterer stacks up.
As for it only targeting 1 person? I can’t say I’ve seen it happen. Usually a group of them will gang up on 1 or 2 people but from my experience they will unequally target everyone.

You can just swap to your staff or blitz, when you want to quell.
It just takes some time to get used to it.
Quelling with a staff that has good quell stats, is faster anyway.
If you want to use force swords, deimos and illisi are great.
Deimos can poke the hell out of enemies, even without activation.
If you prefer sweeping attacks and non sticky weapon special, the illisi is also great.
It can 2 shot regular mutants.
Weak mutants are 1 shot i think.
When you see a mutant coming, activate weapon special.
When mutant arrives, you dodge to the left and give them a heavy 1 to the face, as they pass by (weak mutants from modifier should die to this already).
While the mutant recovers from his missed charge, walk over and activate weapon special again, then hit the mutant a 2nd time.

Deimos is much better when you aren’t activating. The only good thing about the activation is building stacks of Uncanny.
The stunning force shield wall is my go-to counterplay for mutant/dog waves. Find a nice choke point, throw down a shield or two and get to blastin’!
It’s much easier to deal with them as they conga line in rather than a big mess of muties from all directions. If you don’t want to use a shield either, I’d get to practicing with dodges next to a wall (so the mutants stun themselves) and find a weapon you like that kills them quickly.
