That’s… actually my fault here. Now that you quoted this part I realized it was quite ambiguous and could be interpreted as such.
Yes, I was talking about the >30 levels only. I’ll edit my original post to include that info.

Best I’ve seen floated is gear score and I support that 100%. Should do most of the heavy lifting keeping low level players out of where they don’t belong. And it has a proven track record in other games.
As long as it could be hidden - sure, I’d even support that.
agreed, im on xbox and every few week ill look for a pc guy in a public match and ask them to let me know my true rank. (level 725 on zealot last time i got an update from a kind stranger lol)
one of my side motivations for playing is getting to that sweet level 1000 zealot but i cant see it happening live, i have to ask a random every few weeks…big sad.
Also the only reason i got accepted into my first havoc 40 win was because the host saw my true level and took me in based off that, i was only havoc 31 at that time. They literally told me they only let me play coz of the level i couldn’t even see.
Side note - I would LOVE kill counters on weapon cards in the inventory screen , just to see how many kills i can get up to.
on that i disagree.
some random dude wants a piece of my time and effort, its “pants down and out with the tape measure” ![]()
likewise, i come with “open visor” and got nothing but respect for those that invest their 30-40 havoc minutes at the risk of losing rank when someone fuggs up.
like i said, common courtesy.
plus, i never play darktide when i’m not 100% there.
there aint no “bad days” other than in single player games, so i’m not wasting anyones time.
Nah, because people being kicked/request rejected is better than the ammount of chat toxicity can happen. It’s a lesser evil when people can escape potentialy awefull runs and insults, but kicked/rejected.
at the cost of denying people their basic right to privacy? because that is a part of the equation as well, and enough to tip the scale.
how long you have played the game isnt a breach of privacy wtf its not their bank details relax guy, On xbox you can see eachothers total gametime on their profiles so its kind of obvious weather the person is gonna be a high rank or low rank in game purely base of their total game time that you can see anyway
agree to disagree then. denying someone their privacy should only ever be done for a higher purpose, such as preventing bodily or financial harm.
the momentary comfort of some internet rando does not qualify as either of that.
Yes, because it’s a COOP game.
privacy
It’s not like anyone is trying to get your nudes. It’s the info that ties straight to the game expirience, not some private life game-irrelevant info.
Either way you can say that people shouldn’t see what weapons and abilities teammates have.
no, it actually doesn’t. there can be a correlation to expected performance, but quite unreliable. there is not a single precise prediction you can make based on that info - and “that dude will suck” is not a precise prediction, in case you were wondering
this is something that directly ties into the game experience since it allows you to make precise predictions. not to mention that their loadout will be revealed once you start the mission anyway even if you made it private otherwise, that is not the case for true level
by the way you can view other people’s entire talent tree with mods if you want.
you guys on xbox can’t hide your playtime? damn, that’s sad. you can do that on steam.
btw if you don’t think that qualifies as privacy then you should definitely go look at the GDPR. i doubt darktide playtime is listed there, but there’s a lot of other things you’d never consider a “breach of privacy”.
americans especially have been known to be shocked by it. not surprising given there’s no privacy in usa lmao
btw i’m done here, the discussion about boundaries of privacy is too much of a time sink for how much i care. take care guys, arrivederci
Still person can master some off meta stuff pretty well and being kicked cause not running meta.
It’s more reliable then not having info about people joining your team.
But you can. For example, if you will refuse to play with players that have character level lesser then, let’s say 500, or even 1000, whatever (even if they can be good or they have 2000 level another characters ). Your winrate, or more important saved time, will be higher then if you will gamble and play with anyone, because some people will be skillfull, some just maxed a new character, but some will be bad. You can philter out some good players potentialy, but you certainly philter out people with less expirience than yours.
The thing is, there are 3 people besides you, and so their right to decide about do they want to play with you or not is more important, becase it’s 3 vs 1.
I don’t know how V1 players, or DRG players survived, cause both of these game have prestige levels visible. Damn.
You have to be a real wet puss puss to get offended that your gametime can be seen regardless of what game it is
What’s with this obsession with hiding? As if it doesn’t show right away when someone sucks, with or without titles and frames.
I kinda get their desire for privacy, I’m a big advocate of it in general and I feel too many ppl are too lax with it, but it doesn’t really apply with game “levels” and having your teammates see your loadout (incl. curios( blitz and ult picks.
There are other people involved so they should have the opportunity to bow out of the group for instance if they see a a level 30+13 stealth knife zealot and have had their fill for the day, time and patience are finite.
Emprah knows there were days when I noped out of lobbies on seeing the 7th knife stealth zealot in a row or the 6th stealth smoke PG “I can’t spare the points” lowbie vet.
P.S. Happy nosh day! My last free chatGPT meme:
