Veteran's over-reliance on getting killing blows

Have a lot of negative to say about the current state of sharpshooter, but one of the biggest gripes with the class right now is the fact that it feels competitive rather than cooperative.

Needing to land killing blows to reset volley fire, or to stack up Confirmed Kill really goes against the cooperative spirit and is making the class feel significantly worse with the buffs to the other classes. I want to be focused on what needs doing in the moment-to-moment gameplay and working with my teammates. Having a kill-steal focused talent set be core to the classes strength causes huge variance in class strength from engagement to engagement and reinforces a playstyle that is counter to what should be the core drive of the game-- Working together to kill heretics.

It would feel much better if these on kill things were changed to be assist based and/or proximity based.

While i agree with most of your points the only issue i have is with the proximity based proc for Vet abilities. I have two builds, one is a mix of squad leader and commando and one pure sharpshooter and with the range i personally have on my sharpshooter build the proximity would have to be WACKY large.

I would like assist based, or both assist and proximity based. Pure proximity I agree would be bad. Proximity in addition however would be nice if I just happen to be in a spot holding a horde, or doing something else for the team, and it would be nice to not feel punished for that. But anything over needing direct killing blows would be preferable right now.
