I might be overly influenced by my MMO years but I genuinely like all these support roles and find it satisfying to nullify or neuter the directorâs little tantrums. Other folks can scoreboard chase, more power to them, I am more interested in ensuring a win.

the psyker was my friend, and he is a very good player, he never died, the chorus zealot is what kept the game going too, the 7 wounds thammer zealot was constantly getting downed and killed, but was not really a problem and was nice to play with him nontheless
no i donât do that, and while playing it, it felt like playing a normal game, i was inspired myself by ChocoB into trying executionerâs stance with bolter, but his talent build was far from optimal, he was running marksman focus but he was just playing normally and not really paying any attention to his stacks
turns out you can do just the same with no keystones, executionerâs stance already gives you all the damage/recoil reducion/zoom/enemy highlight/quicker draw that bolter needs to be good
all 3 keystones increase your damage in some form, they best perform with voice of command since it doesnât give you any damage boosts, i think having keystones with classic volley fire vet is a mistake

Exactly⌠I would point that surgical strike exists on Bolter, and that you have 15 ammos in clip. This leads that the Bolter can be really more efficient than a revolver against any target except ogryns (crushers, reapears mainly, for Bulwark the fact that Boltgun opens the shield is a big + when you compare to revolver).
Also, I had Shattering impact.
Must say that I am far from the best on a veteran (for me classes from the easier to the harder are Ogryn (toooo easy), zealot (fine), Veteran (harder), psyker (really hard cause weak). But still, I could do 400k damages while there was a plasma player skilled in my team.
I would say that, before buffing the bolter, there are A LOT of weapons that need adjustments (buff or nerf).
Final note: in the game I did, I had âonlyâ 41% of my hits with Boltgun that were critical hits. This could have been higher but was first time I was using Bolter with surgical⌠I want to test again with a scopeâŚ
about the sniper shot i soaked, i was in choesion with 2 zealot, one of them surely had ââbenedictionââ aura, that would be 15% more thougness damage reduction
this still doesnât explain why 3 bots in the psykanium are enough to make me soak a sniper shot though
the only possibility i see is that the scab sniper you spawn with creature spawner is different from the scab sniper that spawn in malestorm missions
i tried a cuple of scopes but they really donât work for me, iâve always scored more headshots with the default iron sight
I want to see with the new zoom values⌠and maybe I could lower the zoom cause I think is too much in a game like darktide. At least, last time I tried, it was too much.
Great to aim an helmet at 80 meters, and horrible to shoot someone at 10.
wait you can change your zoom value? that would be immensly powerfull on bolter, even with just iron sight (to have it always at volley fire zoom level when you ADS)

i really donât understand all the fuss about surgical, ChocoB also had that on his bolter video, i tried it on my Ogryn kickback, but i found myself most of the time not using it while just spamming it to get my blaze away stacks
i donât like it because it works in calm situations, where you can afford standing still and aim to a far enemy, rather than the messy situation where you just unload your clips to survive
(but honestly i just have the hots for the bolter volley, it has never let me down, ever, ever)

Check the diff between normal hits, weakspot hits and critical hits (and wonât point weakspot critical hit).
You get more than 300 more damages (if I remember well, I am at work) between normal shot and critic. Same beetwen normal and weakspot, but you may know that hit the weakspot with a bolter at 40 meters is not easy⌠landing a critical hit with surgical strike is as easy as waiting 2 seconds before shooting.
You always get 10-20% (more 20%) bonus⌠even 30-40 is easy to get
10% 0.2s - so you aim you have it
20% 0.4s - you hesitate? you have +20% critical rate
30% 0.6s - You assure you aim⌠you have +30% critical rate
50% 1s - 1 second and you get +50% critical rate!
At 2s you get⌠+100%. Considering you can take critical bonus (like deadshot by example), you can get a critic when you want with just aiming less than 2s.
Off course, this is useless to kill a poxwalker⌠but a scab gunner⌠yes it is really useful to one shot a scab gunner.
We didnât need such abilities before. It is a case of âMake a problem, sell the solution.â Do I like the abilities, yeah but it feels punishing if nobody on your team has the toughness regen dome, the chorus, or voice of command. This is largely due to how much the game spams bombers at you and the 100% toughness damage fire does so having no quick-reset team toughness feels unfairly punishing.
These support abilities made the game too easy, yes so obviously something needed to change, but then they just started spamming specials and elites at us, which as long as it isnât bomber and gunner spam spam I am fine with and thoroughly enjoy, but if it starts spamming bombers the game becomes zero fun as soon as your team misses one or one throws from out of line of sight 3 times in a row.
