Venting------barrel explode and it turn people into rocket

It is frustrating
ruined 1 +5 1 +5 high int run already
The barrel could fly people to some abyss and instakill lmao
Yes its a skill issue I know we dont pay attention to barrel but
let me vent

It’s certinely a case of a totally obscure and useless part of the game having a massive impact on our game experience. We lost half of our squad due to accidental barrel explosions and few times I would argue the whole missions. It’s funny when someone occassionally flies by you into a horde of enemies, or they are saved by such explosion, but its the most useless game mechanic I would never miss.

Barrels just need way more shots to explode.

Right now, its 1 or 2 shots to pop a barrel. It is absurdly easy yo accidentally cleave a barrel that was nearby or a projectile to clip it on the way past… Especially Purgatus left click.

Basically, make the barrels need to take a decent whack before exploding.

This thread is Ogryn approved. Less explosive barrels, most big swings.

If they needed more shots it would be more difficult to use them tactically. Reduced or no knockback is, imo, the way to go.

My problem with barrels is that the knockback and the height of the arc you fly in doesn’t seem to scale to how close you actually to the barrel when it explodes. This leads to a lot of “cognitive dissonance” when you see a barrel explode “over there” more than 10-15 feet away, and it still throws you off a bridge.

I think they need to either reduce the knockback below looney toons levels, or just heavily scale it with proximity, with distant barrels only staggering you momentarily.
