Unarmored enemies HP and shotguns low damage

Some weapons like shotguns, revolvers, and the bolter pistol have ridiculously low damage, especially considering their low ammo capacity and fire rate. They can’t even one-shot the most basic gunner or a maniac. It feels absurd, as if the HP of certain enemies has been increased so much that fighting them becomes frustrating. This is even worse with special abilities, like the Zealot’s throwing knives, where you need at least two to kill even the most basic elite enemy. It’s dumb that some enemies are just HP sponges. Even if you land headshots with a weapon that should cause them to explode, they barely get staggered or suppressed instead of dying. What’s even more strange is that the least-armored enemies often seem to have the most HP.

Gunners still got light armour, maniacs dont care until you cut its head off, every enemy blessed by Nurgle are more resilient against and welcomes the pain of death.

Honestly shotguns are ok
I’ve been using one damnation and it kills things just fine

It’s refreshing to use one after using the more meta weapons for a while.

Gunner mooks have 1400 HP, which are actually pretty tough in terms of the game’s HP scale. Only melee elites, ogryn enemies and mutants have more HP.

But yeah as a general rule because Unarmored has no protection against damage like other armors they have more HP. The single exception to this is the shotgunners.

Zealot’s thrown knives drop any gunners (neither of which are unarmored, they’ve got flak armor) shotgunners and most specials with 1 to the skull…

Unarmored shooter mobs definitely die to zealot knives in a headshot, but, their healthpools prevent them from dropping to a body shot.

I finally managed to pull a Bolt Pistol at 60 mobility with 80 everything else and plopped on 25% damage to maniacs and flak… much to my chagrin it still cannot one-drop headshot gunners consistently, and certainly not flamers. It basically requires a crit to do so from what I’ve noticed… making it effectively have a 4 round magazine and a very low firing rate rather than an 8 round mag with a slow fire rate.

Puncture blessing will give you the breakpoints you’ll need. Trapper one shot to the body, shooters one shot to the head - bleed takes care of the rest of the HP

Puncture feels almost like a requirement on bolt weapons (at least for non-Vets).

Feels great with the blessing… feels a little disappointing without.

It would make sense if it were light weapons like swords, but with a hammer, it doesn’t make much sense. And the ironic thing is that light weapons do instakills, even to heavy units, much more efficiently than the hammer or any other heavy weapon.

Does revolver not do enough damage for you? Are we not playing the same game?

Revolvers are a headshot finesse weapon, nothing more and they excel at it.

One headhsot, two body shots (if you have puncture).

Shotguns need clips instead of manual reload, it’s absurd to load manually more than 5 or 6 shells.

Dreg Gunners have unarmored heads and flak shoulder guards. So unarmored is their main armor as you want to be going for the head on them

I really don’t know what build you’re using if your revoler, bolt pistol and shotgun can’t headshot one shot a gunner. They all work just fine for me.

Wrong. Nurgle followers do not welcome pain, the whole and entire reason why they join up with nurgle is to escape the pain. It works like this :

  • Nurgle infects the loyal followers of the big E
  • The loyalists are in agonizing pain
  • Nurgle offers release
  • The loyalists become heretics and feel nothing, thats why they are so resilient.

The ones that welcome pain are slaaneshi sloots.

Yes, but it has little damage, even the double-barreled one, which should destroy almost any enemy except for the armored ones, does little to nothing.

In previous patches, the revolver was much more powerful; you could even kill gunners and trappers with body shots, and the shotgun should kill any unarmored enemy with a single shot at close range—I mean, that’s its main function. It should be perfect for the Preacher, but it doesn’t work as well in practice, especially the double-barreled one.

Op has a bad build

D’oh, you’re right. Psykanium was relaying weird info when I was testing with the bolt pistol with lethal proximity. Or my brain wasn’t working (more likely this)… knives registered unarmored for the head.

I will concede this though:
This shotgun

At this distance

Does this:

And it’s not okay
Another weapon that obligatory needs the +25% dmg against whatever.

Funny enough I shot a scab flamer here:

shouldn’t be flak?
