Tune in at Skulls

Even i would love to have a Ratling sniper as a new class I don’t think we will ever have one. Darktide is mostly a horde shooter/slasher game, it can be already tough (… not impossible !) to play that way depending of the map with one of the Helbore so a whole skillset around sniping … Fat chance !

Also outside of marksman stuffs i see it too similar to the Veteran gameplay to be that much unique … Except they make a skilltree around stealing maybe.

They’re more than just snipers though. They’re just very good snipers. Their lore fits into the DT world extremely well tbh.

Not realy with tide gameplay though :skull:

better to be free, cause it would be the minimum they can do after not having released actual content in these years. and for having delayed crafting for years and numerous other things. if they demand money, crazy.

I’m still not totally convinced that this isn’t a new enemy faction that is at odds with the dregs/scabs.

But I’m also still not totally convinced that this isn’t a ratling riding a cyber-mastiff.

Don’t be convinced of anything keep the expectations low just in case then there’s more room for brown pants

Eh, I like getting hyped. If it turns out that every joker who thinks FS made a mocapped promo video for a major franchise event to tease a modifier with double poxhounds is right, I’ll be bummed later. For now, I’m happy hoping for something interesting!

hey, i watched the video at as slow a speed as i could, found out that the only hands in the video were that of cultists. it’s still up in the air as to what the PoV is from.

I don’t play Necromunda, how fast are those sumpkrocs anyway?

Why Not? Beastman.

Yeah after rewatching on a big screen, unfortunately I agree in cultist hands. Going to be bummed if it’s not a Ratling lol

It’s not a Ratling.

I think FS regrets making Ogryn, because they can’t share cosmetics, emotes and weapons. Seeing how slow they are in productivity, they’re not going to hamstring themselves by creating another unique model.

Ratling wouldn’t really be unable to use the weapons the humans do though.

They use the same equipment, not even scaled down for the most part. Ratling have problems, but they are different from the ones that Ogryn have, also pointing to this:

“Of course we talked about Squats, but no, because then they’re just going to be Space Bardin,” De Geer says. “So we picked the opposite, the most complicated option, and it gave Victor (Magnuson) nightmares.” That’s because Magnuson had to figure out how to double the height of doorways and add extra space to rooms so that an Ogryn can pass through while retaining their confined feel.

From the Edge magazine back on launch.

Like even when thinking of small PoV, Squat seem to have been more what they had been thinking of than Ratling.

Weird they have a problem with space Bardin, but not with space Sienna or space Saltzpyre.

Cause it’s different, like Psyker unlike Sienna can delve into things like Biomancy (BF would be a mix of Azyr, Gur, Ghyran…), Telekinesis (No real equivalent, Hysh could probably have something if it’s stones, Chamon if it’s metal…), Divination (Azyr and maybe Hysh)…

Zealot it’s a fairer comparison, but compared to Squats (even if we start counting the Leagues of Votaan, which we shouldn’t in this case), Zealots and the Administratum/Ecclesiarchy are a much bigger component of the Imperium.

Had a Zealot not been in game, some people probably would have raised an eyebrow about it. Squat much less so.
