Tune in at Skulls

whatever the lore is, players with true levels in the thousands would find it rather boring to play low difficulties until they level their new class guy to 30.

if they are smart they add a rule something like for every character at lvl 30, you may choose to add 10 lvls to a newly created character, so 3 lvl 30 characters would mean you can create maxed out new class.

but FS gonna do that 2 years later when everyone already had to play manually

I think you have a bit of a misconception here. They are the enforcement wing of the Adeptus Terra, the central government of the Imperium. They can legally stand in judgement of planetary governors (and summarily execute the same if they so determine), and the behavior and performance of governors and above are their primary concerns as lesser matters are nearly always left to the “local” law enforcement at the planetary level except in extreme cases or things like interstellar fugitives or criminal organizations. Much like the historic duties of US Marshals or the FBI of today.

I suppose it’s possible that FS might break the mold here and start introducing a series of prestige classes like Arbitrator, Sister of Battle, Eldar Corsair, Kroot Merc, Orky Freeboota, etc. (in fact, it’s probably the only way to work xenos PCs in) but I feel like that will alter the entire feel of the game rather tremendously. For one thing, a lot of voice lines would no longer work.

I still feel they have room to introduce more characters that fit the press-ganged penal trooper setting without having to resort to altering everything. I guess we’ll see.

And as for not starting out at the bottom, what would you expect? I could go and make a new character right now and despite having over 1000 total account levels, I’d still have to start at level 1 and work my way up. Even in VT2, if you played Bardin to exclusion for 3000 hours, you’d still have to start from level 1 if you switched to anyone else. That’s just a part of a new character/class, my guy.

the difference to V2 is that V2 never introduced a new character, it was always assumed even if you picked a new career that they had spend the same amount of time in the “meta narrative” of the game. kinda like a what if alternate timeline.

DT is different in that they need to justify why they bring in someone and why that someone would be put into an elite strike team right away.

Rogue Trader new DLC is about Arbites and cyber pets. Considering there was a collab between DT and RT recently, perhaps we will see some meaningfull content finaly.

Damn there’s also a plausible non-zero chance the teaser was for a “good ol’ poxhound!”

At long last, we are getting the class we all deserve…

Scaven assassin aka Rattling

But if this new character shares some common weapons with another existing class, those long-time players could theoretically outfit them with 500 power weapons with optimised perks and blessings as soon as they can access the forge, so they wouldn’t stay in the lower difficulties for too long.

I got bored and leveled up a few new characters a while back. It does not take long. The level cutoffs for difficulty are actually pretty low, so you can get into damnation fairly quickly. Slap +10% xp on each curio slot as soon as you unlock it (quite simple these days) and prioritize scripture missions with modifiers. You’ll hit 30 in no time flat.

You guys will be incredibly disappointed once again.

There’s no way they release a new class.
It means a lot of work for FS and all they want is to design maps and mutators while recycling content.
Not recording thousands of voicelines, parameter cosmetics templates for a new model, design class related weapons, rework the entire lexicon to integrate class terms.

No.
You will get a new mind control staff for the psyker, or some third party enemies that attack cultists and rejects.

Brace yourself

I hope so

I wouldn’t be surprised if this was the case, I wanna say the game is dead but… I just don’t know what they’re doing with this game. No Tdm, no domination, no control, no weapon customization, no single player. No domination, no Tdm, no hard point, no weapon customization in 2025, no weapon customization is 2025.

Nothing ever happens.

Imagine them releasing actual content but making it paid DLC.

It will be great to watch the shop/mtx slop defenders come up with reasons as to why it’s okay.

I think it’s more likely to be a Ratling than a mastiff tbh. Fingers crossed for me anyway!

I think the camera animation is just animation and not indicative of being a dog. Looks kinda like a hand in shot for a second near the beginning of the clip.

Also looks kinda like a hand reaching out to the heretic at the end too after replaying it a few times.

I don’t want to get my hopes up but if it’s a Ratling I will actually poop my pants.

This isn’t COD, nor was designed to be COD.

If it is a DLC class they will come up with two possible theories:

  • The MTX shlop isn’t providing fatshark enough money for them to release a free class for everyone.

  • The MTX shlop is providing enough money for fatshark to release all the “amazing” content we got so far for everyone but since making a new class requires a lot of work of course it will be another extra cost.

I honestly think it’s hard to think which one is true, without having info on how many aquilas/skins people buy.
I asked people on the steam forums if they would be willing to pay for a DLC class and pretty much everyone said they would, I have nothing against that honestly, anyone can spend their money how they want, I won’t judge them.

Hmm… based on POV, as many folks before speculated, it’s either:

  1. Cyber-Mastiff
  2. Ratling Sniper.

Maybe Ratling Sniper saw trough scope nice chrono piece on cultist and just couldn’t wait, because last 3 lootable objects, ekhem – valuable equipment pieces recoverable post-mortem were crushed by Ogryn (not on purpose).

You’re either fast or get nuffin.

Post Verbum:
It’s not stealing if they didn’t belong to your unit and didn’t really need it, and if they’re enemies, it’s not stealing especially if they need it.
