Trappers need to be nerfed

The Developers are losing money because of Trappers…..Trappers are ruining casuals experience while moving up difficulty.I cant keep people on because of Trappers.Please nerf these things or you’re just missing money.Imagine preferring to use cheap mechanics and lose money….This game would more than likely be a Top 15 game Rn if it wasnt for Trappers ruining immersion,playthrough,balance.THEY SHOOT THROUGH PPL….I CANT EVEN SHOOT THRU PEOPLE…..seriously though.I spent hundreds on cosmetics.Stop cheating us out of our time,energy, AND THE ABILITY TO PLAY WITH OUR FRIENDS…I shouldnt see 15 Trappers on Heresy.And 5-6 in one area,specifically close to the end,just makes me turn the game off.And I love this game.But holy fudgesicle, all my casual friends always mention how trash the game is because of the Trapper and I know this game is dope….Please stop ruining the experience because how does Warhammer/Games Workshop allow a Webber to be this important that it breaks physics just so I can lose when I i literally 1v1 the Horde but a cheap Trapper who has a invisible hit box larger than it actually is trapping me even when i dodge

Trappers shouldn’t be able to shoot through 40 enemies and through corners (and ledges, stairs, railings, and mesh grates) it’s true.

Well, personally, I don’t think we need to get rid of certain disablers, because one guy cannot evade a trapper & pay attention to their surroundings to get the timing correct on the dodge, lol. But yes, I do have some sympathy to this, but for more realistic reasons… They do need to heavily rework on their sound engineering for these types of enemies. Not just trappers, but other heretics as well, etc, because there are times where they really are silent & you cannot do sht about it. It’s an obvious issue that’s been here for literally years now that they won’t address, because of that fact it will take resources & time to fix these complications, right. The work around is obviously mods like ‘Spidey Sense’ to tell you when to dodge, or ‘Crackling Trapper’ that gives the sound cues for now. Other than that, you just need to pay attention a lot more. That’s really it… One guy earlier on wanted to get rid of overheads. I mean, it’s a LOL moment right there.

Would it be too crazy to suggest getting netted removes a player from being targeted by any enemies, and the trapper could drag that netted player to the next nearest respawn point?

Of course, being netted would still count as disabled like a hound so if everyone else is down the mission fails.

I think no matter how you change nets it will feel terrible to get trapped because it’s a total loss of control. It’s meant to be though, co-op game. VT2 was full of the exact same complaints and the netter equivalent there was louder, melee range only, and did more or less what you suggested

Yeah, for sure… I’m totally open to any changes people have. I just don’t think removing it is the answer at all. If they fixed the sound cues to silent enemies at the very least, I feel that it would be way less likely people get trapped/disabled & are aware when trappers are near you is all. I get people don’t like the dynamic of disablers in the game, because they’ve had bad experiences with them. I think the most amount of times I’ve been personally trapped myself were the silent ones, which is totally downright BS of course… I feel that’s the most common kind of BS trap, at least in my experience.

My biggest problem is that they can shoot through other enemies, the smaller problem is the fact that sometimes 3+ Trappers can spawn in a quick succession.

But let’s be honest, the worst and the most broken enemy in the game is Tox Bomber.

Shooting through people I can understand. If they didn’t then they would almost never get a clear shot. They’re only really dangerous in a crowd and that’s the point. They’re kinda like this game’s Hook Rat from Vermintide 2.

The main issue I have with both Hook Rats and Trappers is that if you break contact around a wall or solid object, they still get you if you don’t perform the dodge. I don’t think that makes sense.

The other issue I’ve been having in general is that playing Ogryn feels crappy with disablers in general. Dogs at least can be pushed, but sometimes with the low dodge count, and low dodge distance, I feel like Ogryn is just going to get caught sometimes and there’s not much I can do about it.

To counteract that, I think he should innately have Barge from Vermintide 2, where non-elites and non-specials get pushed out of the way by his dodges. That way he can be in the thick of it and still perform a dodge.

I thought I knocked over some trash by dodging, and then I thought; Ogryn should have Barge. I had no idea they actually added it. Must be the dodge count/distance. I only have a big issue with Trappers when I’m playing Ogryn.

I’ll just give my usual suggestion every time this thread pops up. Probably make it so they can’t shoot through Ogryn elites and bosses, shooting through everything else is fine. I do like the idea of the net pushing the enemies it goes through around a bit too even just for flavour.

Yeah, those are the ones that get me too otherwise Trappers aren’t that big a deal. The ones behind the Ogryns or the ones that just pop up out of nowhere with no audio warning like Pennywise from IT.

They added Barge after 2 years of spamming about this on the forum. Two years more and they will add this for DMR alike guns to make going ads less risky.

The problem with trapper it’s also squishy, unlike packmaster, add here how range is stronger in DT and that’s the result. Trapper either can’t do sh*t or need a gimmick like shooting through mobs.

Another thing is net has a much more generous timing than hook.

What they can do is to make her to be tankier and faster in every aspect - movespeed, charge/reloading, net projectile speed (if it works like projectile).

Or, leave her be nerfed on lower difficulties - where she’s unable to shoot through mobs and maniac.

But on higher difficulties she’s carapace, and dog also, and flamers, and snipers. Make everythin carapace. Carapaaaaaaaaceeeeee. I’m joking.

The same thing with poxhound vs gutter-runner. Assassin can land on you from the roofs and stuff, where is the dog need to travel all along at your sight level.

Yeah I’ve suggested this in the past too. Tbh the trapper doesn’t even need to drag you for it to be better. Simply not being pummeled into mincemeat whilst netted would be a vast improvement. Just like when hounds pounce on you.

Hello. Sadly a lot of people have made suggestions about the trapper and many other things. They never gain enough traction. I think it has more to do with Fatshark having other priorities. Or perhaps it has to do with the people in the forums. Either way I will agree that it gets old

There has been times I have been netted when I know I dodged. I remember one time during the hangar mission thing.. I dodged left to go behind a wall thinking that would stop it. Nope. It tracked me through the dodge and around the wall

Yeah, it exacerbates the problem even more so. If they just fixed the sound issues, I bet you wouldn’t see as many of these posts. It’s really absurd, after years, they’ve done literally nothing at all with actual mechanics that need fixing. But of course, the DLC gravy train will roll in the dough, for sure.

one thing i’d adjust is the jank introduced with having 2 or more spawn at the same time, in the same place and shoot in an asynchronous pattern that catches you despite having correctly dodged the mechanic as an obstacle.

everything else , hot damn, it’s the casuals job to learn the game, not the games to cater to the poorest performer. :man_facepalming:

well there still is malice if the group ain’t up for it yet, just sayin :man_shrugging:
