Et tu, Weeping.moon?
I mean key bolter talents like reloading, vs ogryns/monsters/elites damage, toughness farm are still there. It’s just sharpshooter more about dmr/automatic weapon. And bolter goes to leader/officer.
Ez bolter build
So you have all you need.
well i honestly didnt think that was rude, sarcastic maybe, but the guys claiming to have plummed the full depth of the new trees and tried all the combos with all the weapon changes and blessings changes and come away with a firm conclusion in … hmm 6 hours?
if thats not a half cocked hot take …
well if your struggling heres a few suggestions
the class has changed you might need to try a few things.
I liked Volley Fire to highlight enemies… my eyesight is not as great as it used to be.
It was blatantly rude. I chose my words with care. You could have made your counterpoint without including insults in what you wrote. Which usually means you don’t have a good counterpoint or you’re just being a jerk to someone with a different point of view to yours. You included insults repeatedly. What exactly was the aim of your comment if not to be a jerk?
what insults?
the point was there was no way he had done the work to justify his claim and to call out the blatant hot take it is. but i explained this in the last post to
Allow me to offer an alternative:
“isn’t it a bit early to make such a big claim? Maybe you just haven’t found the right skill tree mix yet. What’s the issue?”
Perhaps I’m biased, but I think mine comes across as less dismissive.
thats an opinion, you said i was rude and insulted him ,so again i ask you
What exactly was insulting?
“The old day one hot take” obviously means to say that they had no idea what they were talking about.
It was rude bro, just take the hit and move on.
If I may interfert in this:
I think he can have a point about your remark being rude given the caustic tone.
I don’t think you were directly insulting.
I would say that this fit acceptable internet banters and isn’t that dramatic, especially since the original post was already pretty loaded toward FS and you answered mostly in kind.
Now that being said may I humbly suggest to not derail the post any further and work together in the light of the emperor?
I’d thought the contrast between the two would make it clear. That was the point of my previous comment.
But very well, if you insist on wishing to break this down, or if you’re genuinely curious and confused as to why I described it as rude, then I’ll oblige.
Point the first: we immediately open with a characterization of the original point that seeks to paint it as tired and repeative. Something to laugh at. As if to say “oh that well just never runs dry”. Tone is immediately established as condescensing.
Point the second: we follow-up by implying that such an opinion won’t age well and thus will look embarrassing in time. Further adds to the previous tone of condescension, seeking to demean further still.
Point the third: do I really need to elaborate on this one? I think this is pretty obvious.
I fail to see how you can in good faith claim that such a response shouldn’t be described as rude.
Perhaps I’m mistaken. If so then please, enlighten me. Sincerely.
if you’ve not tried it - drop that 5% ranged damage and put it in “grenade tinkerer” - it’s a lot of fun.
@raizing
Results of which are immediately visible too, which is very nice indeed. And fun. And gratifying. And handsome. And some other compliments.
Yeap i have it on my build i play. I mean i just spend 30 sec by clicking through skill tree (so maybe there some stupid nodes) just for example vet has a lot for bolter too without loosing defensive abilities. The only thing is +25% ammo capacity node is placed too deep into left branch maybe. But overall vet wasn’t nerfed to the ground and it’s not a trash archetype or something. Add here melee buffs, like 1h chainsword is extremely good now, great mobility ang dreat damage.
No, it’s far from unplayable, I agree, but where every other class has been developed and evolved with this patch, veteran has basically just been reduced and bracketed. Every other class, you can select a skill branch on a whim and have a blast with the new experience, and to just feel fun. Whereas the vet now has to be keenly looked over, point-by-point just to feel vaguely viable. Seeing all the new toys the other classes get to play really makes the disparity pretty keenly felt.
You don’t really need to “build” for magdump boltgun, you can get to 5-shotting crushers, without ult, with just a few buffs from the middle tree(+monster/ogryn, +elite, and rending) and these buffs apply to melee afaik). That’s pretty op.
Instant reload is gone for the better. Hell, I don’t even need that ult.
crutchsword alone is more than enough for 99% of the content
vet was the objectively best class
now it’s almost balanced
the evolution is that vet can now invest in something other than ranged damage(like melee attack speed, which only makes crutchsword better), not that vet needs it
Is homing Krak grenade(that one shots pretty much anything that isn’t a monster, you can even pick the 10% chance to throw two nades for teh lulz) not good enough for you?
You can still get away with any talent build on vet with crutchsword(got a nerf, but not serious enough to matter). And you can even use other melee weapons.
Don’t need +25% ammo either.
Melee is way better now. And you still break even on ammo with boltgun if you oneshot the gunner elites(which you can, on damnation, with ult if nothing else works).
Regular players suck and generally do not try to learn how to play the game properly. (see how many noobs were clutching onto crutchsword, trashammer, and trashflamer)
The finer details are lost on them and are generally dumbed down to “haha boltgun go brrr.”
You only need regular players’ feedback for newplayer experience…etc.
Veteran players are generally going to point developers toward the correct direction.
Ironically the game has been reduced in difficulty due to this patch. I don’t think developers listened enough to good players. (that or there are lots of bugs that had the same effect)
Maybe I could have worded it differently, but by regular players I mean regular people who are not youtubers.
I have absolutely nothing against having veterans in a playtest. If you’re looking for broad appeal, you should probably have a bit of a spectrum of different kinds of players.
Having your ‘community playtest’ be populated by youtubers is a fantastically bad idea. In every single game, ever.
