I ain’t complaining that updates takes long, what is it like 6 months between each class? But problem with a new class is that it takes about a day or two to max it out and then you are back to the same gameplay loop as before. They really need to put some extra effort in and give us new maps/missions along with the classes, it feels pretty empty to just give us a new class and nothing else.
I’d like to see Prestige levels added, yes I know there is a mod for this but it would be nice if it was an actual game feature. Surely if a player could make the mod it should be possible for the devs to do the same with less effort and time invested into it since you know they are professionals at it.
I’d also like to see a monthly penance update, new penances and hersias blessings cosmetic rewards similar to a battle pass rotation. But also adapt the Marvel Rivals variant where you can go back to older Hersias Blessings and do those penances and collect those cosmetics whenever you want so we don’t have too much FOMO aspect.
Also how about some events in between to keep it interesting and fun, but a bit more interesting than the one we got with Skiitari which you basically finished in 2-3 hours.
Game just lacks incentive to keep playing once you maxed things. I guess you can argue that you should just play for fun, which is true but some people would like to feel a sense of progress at all times it definitely adds to the fun in my opinion it gives you a goal at least so you don’t get as bored easily. Add achievements for reaching level 100, 200, 300 and so on with a character and add special cosmetics for each character when you reach a certain level etc.
There are many things you can do to keep people playing and having fun while they wait for the big updates. This game right now just feels like it wakes up for a week or two and then goes to sleep for 6 months on rotation.
There are plenty of goals you can strive for. We really don’t need the game to be turned into live service nonsense. New maps would be nice but a battle pass would not help the game, a artificial grind designed specifically for player retention is not making the game better.
The game already has plenty of longterm goals you can grind for like getting poxbreaker. But most of the fun of the game comes from getting better at it. Just in order try to do these things
Be able to complete Auric IIIVEG consistently
Get to havoc 40
Do a duo auric IIIVEG
Do a duo Havoc 40
Do a solo Auric IIIVEG (Without stealth cheese)
Do a solo Havoc 40 (Without stealth cheese)
By the time you are good enough to solo Havoc 40 you will probably have 2000 hours minimum and at that point maybe just play a different game lol.
How about multiple dlc classes without a single full sized mission?
Again, I’ve been screaming for new maps for absolutely forever.
We need a full map pack. It must be multiple maps…minimum 3 but preferably 5 or so at this point as it’s been so damn long! 1 or 2 maps will instantly get played to death so it needs a substantial map pack.
3 maps in a new biome would make it feel fresher, along with a few maps in existing biomes (such as void/glorianna).
Also they need to release ALL previous modifiers into rotation. It’s insanity that they don’t do this.
A whole bunch of new maps and a whole bunch of different modifiers all released at the same time is how they pull the game out of this quagmire of boredom.
DT is my “comfort food” of gaming. It’s what I turn to the most to unwind and enjoy but good lord they are making it difficult for me to even load the game at this stage.
Anyone with a functioning brain could have seen that multiple classes released using the exact same maps and modifiers we’ve used for thousands of hours is going to get stale near instantly and vastly reduce the impact of the excitement we have for the new classes.
Missions and modifiers are enjoyed by all players absolutely. Classes are great but I imagine many people stick mostly to the class (or 2) they find most fun and then don’t bother with the others too much. So again, classes don’t affect the overall player base like missions and modifiers do.
WE NEED MAAAAAAAAAPPPSSS!!! AND MODIFIERS!!! LOADS OF BOTH!!! WHY DIDNT THEY DO THIS BEFORE THEIR HOLIDAY!? Now we are stuck with the same monotonous maps and modifiers for months at the very least, but realistically a lot longer.
I’m so bored of all the maps that I am even struggling to log in to complete the 100 mission Skitarii penance. Sometimes I log on…stare at the mission board, sigh with disappointment, then close the game again.

In other words. You didn’t know you wanted things liker Hive Scum class and yet you liked it. It’s also probably why we got Expeditions and Mortis Trials.
You aren’t helping the game or yourself by thinking this way with the “It’s fine” attitutde just saying.

Having a battle pass or prestige levels does not mean it’s a bad thing or will turn it into a live service nonsense, but by the way this game kind of is a live service game in certain ways anyways especially with the FOMO cash shop. Look at Warframe they have a free battle pass without any FOMO and it’s great the community loves it. There are good ways to do it, all they have to do is just use the same Hersias Blessings and pennances just expand on it rather than it being the same thing it was since release. Not sure how you can argue against having more goals to do in the game but here we are.
Yes the game has goals but those aren’t as longterm as you think. You don’t need 2k hours to “finish” this game as it’s super easy to do so, it’s not like this game has 100 builds or modifiers to think about, there is maybe 1-2 viable builds on each class that can do highest difficulty and all you need is that specific build and you are good to go, no skill really required just have awareness and a decent team. Getting the gear for your build is also super easy, just get the correct stats which you can even buy in the armour shop and then upgrade it to max, change blessings etc and you’re done. Maybe I’m just amazing at this game but not once have I encountered any form of difficulty ever, coming from PoE 1 & 2 probably helps as building in this game is the easiest no brainer thing I’ve come across yet. I also always laugh at people on here or on youtube who discuss the best build or build options as if we have many to choose from, but I understand people think this if their only experience of building a class is in this game.
How are you helping the game by saying “play a different game”? They surely want to make money and keep the game active and possibly more addictive right? Suggestions I made are just to help that and make the game more successfull and thriving, not that it’s a guarantee but it probably wouldn’t hurt.
I want more maps, I want the main story to progress, and I would like more weapons. Dev time spent on a battle pass or anything beyond the events we already get is dev time wasted on trying to retain a attention deficit player base that is probably just going to leave the game anyways.

Your thinking about the dumb training wheels gold toughness + bubble meta that makes it braindead easy. There are plenty of viable options for each class that can easily beat havoc 40, each with varying levels of viability but each good. I can think of like 6 pretty distinct Zealot builds that all could easily play in havoc 40, same with all the other classes.
Again, where is your none stealth true solo havoc 40? The game is as hard as you want to make it, anyone can play a meta team comp and clear havoc 40, most of those people couldnt do a auric IIIVEG duo.
The suggestions you made waste dev time on things to coax a tiktok brained player base that wouldnt stick around anyways. I have 1000+ hours on multiple games with zero forms of long-term progression outside of skill. Grinding skill is fun and that is the core fun of this game, adding nonsense to keep ADD people hooked isn’t making the game any better.
I agree. Like I said a new class is consumed within a couple days or a week and then you are back to doing the same thing as always since we get no new maps or missions. Not to mention if the class isn’t even good or fun or interesting to you, then the update gives you absolutely nothing.
Dev time spent on battle pass is not the same team that works on missions or maps etc so don’t worry you aren’t going to lose something by them working on this. They usually have a seperate team working on cosmetics, battle pass etc in every game. Also the time it takes to create things like this is not long, it’s not difficult to do especially prestige levels as proven by a single player making a mod for it and it didn’t even take him long to do it. What takes time is getting it approved by their company or higher ups though, it has to go through some sort of process. Only one person would be needed to make this by the way and it would take maybe a couple days depending on their skill level, that is how easy it is. Cosmetics rewards tied to it though that is again another team who designs that and this takes longer to make as well as going through a process of being approved but as I said this isn’t same team that works on maps, missions etc.
I have done that, it’s not that fun but I do it sometimes and again you can only do it so many times before it’s boring.
So you mentioned one class out of the rest that can do it but I highly doubt that is true, 6 distinct Zealot builds as in they are different from each other and those 6 builds don’t all use the same keystones with a couple very small changes from each other? Mmm I don’t think so but you can prove me wrong if you want. Ogryn for example has BARELY one viable build that can do such things but even then it’s a struggle on that build compared to others. Speaking on that, where are the reworks for older classes?
Isn’t it telling you something if the only proper viable option to not struggle or be bored in something is to cheese it? You’re basically revealing bad game design/balancing here buddy but still trying to defend it, interesting.
Again it does not waste dev time as it’s different teams working on these things and how is it wasting dev time if it makes your players stick around longer and also willing to spend more on the game since they enjoy it so much? As well as bringing in new players. I don’t think it’s wasted time if it brings them revenue. Why do you think these things exist in other games? It’s not because they added it to please the players which it does as well but it keeps players playing the game more and makes it more interesting/fun. Also gives players a reason to come back monthly if there are new achievements and cosmetics to chase. It’s a win win situation for everyone.
What grind are you even talking about? Again I’m too used to other games I think but the grind in this game is chasing currency to upgrade your gear, but the gear itself you aren’t grinding as you can literally just buy it with a couple clicks. But the grind for the currency is super easy it just involves you playing the same missions over and over again which is where the boredoom comes in especially when you maxed everything out, your character is limited to 30 so you don’t even get any more satisfaction playing that character unless you run True Level mod. At that point there is no grind anymore and the grind doesn’t get refreshed or renewed at any point since new updates only bring in a new class which you only need to grind levels that takes a couple hours and then you already have millions of currency to upgrade it to its best form/build.
He’s the worst thing to happen to tide games in forever. They can thank every star in the sky they lucked out on the Vermintide melee combat formula. Every other decision he and FS have made has been absolutely disastrous for the game’s health.
I can’t wait for Mats and the other guys to make a new first person hybrid melee game to style on that imbecile Magnuson.
Modelers can model cosmetics or they can model new weapons. Sure they could hire another team to handle that, but that is hiring another team that isn’t working on real content. Your asking them to expand development, I would rather they expand development into good things then brainrot content.
Its already in the game, all the mod does is display it. Same thing with scoreboard. I dont agree with them not adding it but asking for it is pointless, already been 10,000 people before you. They are happy leaving that stuff as mods and that is the compromise we need to deal with as much as it sucks.
If you have the true solo mod then you also probably have scoreboard, scoreboard mod saves your history by default, go look through your scoreboard history and send a screenshot of your true solo havoc 40 games.
Fat Mangus, FoF marty relic blade, book blazing dueling, fof blazing knife bleed. Then there are like a dozen variations of these that are all pretty viable. That is 4 completely distinct and I could list another few that are more minor variations but still very distinct. Same can be said for every class.
Ogryn has multiple very viable builds. They are generally the hardest class to play yes but they are still good.

What? You mean stealth? Yeah stealth is poorly designed but just dont play it and the rest of the game is fun. I find true solo very fun on multiple classes hive scum is probably the most fun currently.
That is not the point of the game. You grind to get better, not to upgrade your gear. Upgrading gear is super easy especially if you are playing havoc. The long-term grind is getting better at the game.
No? You can do it with multiple builds, only thing you really need is good mobility. Yeah a DOT makes it like 10000x easier but its not completely mandatory and even then I usually just run bleed zealot. Granted I do Auric IIIVEG true solo I am not good enough for Havoc 40 true solo, but I have seen plenty of people who are.
they’ve said before that they don’t actually aim to retain players between updates/DLCs. someone with a mind for business will understand exactly why, those are server costs that don’t bring much income anyway. way better to drop an update and a desired cosmetics rotation, or a DLC class, then let people leave between those spikes to save on servers.
of course, anyone can make their own fun, but it’s absolutely obvious to me, and indirectly confirmed by fatshark that they don’t really want to help you with that.
Doing self-imposed solo challenges in a game that is not designed to be played solo is a clear sign that there is barely anything to do with the official content.
The trouble is that we love the game and desperately want more of it and are not asking for unrealistic requests but FS keep ignoring player requests and spend time making things absolutely no one asked for.
We just want more missions/maps etc. just the absolute basics of a tide game
The next update will definitely not be a new class update nor a new gamemode update. So fingers crossed we’ll get another Bound by Duty-like update with reworks, new enemies, new weapons (or new marks ), balance changes, QoL additions and new maps (but this time to the vanilla gamemode NOT the Mortis Trials OR the Expeditions).
Some of us don’t even want/need that much effort (unpopular I know).
I know I could easily squeeze another 500 hours out of this game just by having the modifiers freed using nothing special and new over the existing modifier system, just letting them all have a spot in the rotation.
