This game lacks things to do between updates and incentive to keep playing

I do want more content. I just don’t want a battle pass or other pointless grinds. The games melee combat is very good, probably some of the best ever made and it allows for near infinite skill expression. That is the core fun of the game and doing self imposed challenges just lets you do even more of it.

I have done self imposed challenges in dozens of games, none of which would be any better with live service fomo stuff. DS3, Rimworld, Factorio, Hoi4, Kenshi, etc. Getting better at games is fun, and imposing challenges on yourself is how you get better at things. I’m not going to complain about gameplay extensions, almost all of those games have gotten them in some way and I love all of them more for it. But I absolutely do not want a battle pass or skin loot boxes or any of that.

bro calling me out

As an old fart I just want to remind everyone that; Moonstone, Blaster Master, Double Dragon and Megaman, Diablo had no battlepasses or seasonal updates, and yet we played those games so much that the Floppys, Cartridges and CD’s crumbled to dust.

Darktide’s issue is more about the worth of the DLC’s.

What is the point of constantly creating new classes if the rest of the game remains unchanged?

A paid expansion with a new faction, several and fun new weapons, new campaign, maps and game features is needed, and I believe Fatshark should finish the campaign story and make it cohesive so that the game is “done” and only fluff is being added from now on.

Darktide is still unfinished and feels unfinished, which is what I despise about modern live service games: they exist just to generate revenue rather than providing the players with an actual fun experience and good product.

Well they say that the second video game crash is upon us…

Greentide?

Exactly. We need content that adds and boosts the variety within the game, no matter what class you choose to play.

and they should receive the help they need
