Things that strip the fun out of the game,

that’s an awful lot of words to say “we had our fun and moved on”, leaflover.

While a lot of stuff in this can be fixed with mods, that’s not a good thing even if it has significantly increased my enjoyment of the game.

Also tried out the Psych Ward mod last night, and it’s huge. Lets you select vendors for each character from the operative select screen. Don’t have to sit through any loading screens.

Didn’t need it when the browser extension still worked.

Honestly, what they SHOULD do (among many things) is when browsing the stores, hit tabs in the store to swap to other characters. But I would do it by classes. (Veteran store, ogyrn store, psyker store, etc.) And so if you have multiple characters of the same class they can share gear.

But I would go a step further and just like shared wallets, do shared weapons. If 3 classes can all use a zarona revolver… let all the characters use it.

This is such a pet peeve of mine, I have a really good Agripinaa Autogun on my Vet that i wish my Zealot could use just so i dont have to go through crafting limbo.

Its fine I’m at least 98% sure I’ve found the right gun. Can’t be 100% certain from lack of field testing, but I’ve been sacrificing sleep to keep up with my other responsibilities since October.

This game has certainly been the most taxing for this particular approach/playstyle I have.

Its why I get disproportionately upset at the prospect of nerfs.

In short:

Darktide during mission: a proper, awesome PC/Console co-op AA action 40k game.

Darktide outside of mission: frustrating gotcha mobile game aimed to scam you with RNG, FOMO and premium currency.

It’s like making an awesome cake for everyone and then dumping a bottle of vinegar on it just before you serve it.

My friends and I are still playing Rainbow Six: Siege 8 years after the Beta first started, as toxic and incompetent as Ubisoft can be.
New season just released, half of us bought the Premium Pass, and you know why?
Because for 10 bucks you get a half dozen unique, well made outfits for different characters, and a battlepass that actually incentivizes and rewards your playtime, it makes the game fun, and keeps it coming, even 8 years later.
Darktide demands more than the price of the game for the same amount of content, while underdelivering at the same time, it’s incredibly stingy and it’s just become too much work for too little fun to even bother playing anymore, and why would anyone want to even support that, much less at the horrendous scalping prices they demand for digital cosmetics??
It’s sad, to see them think they have no competition, while the market is flooded with games that simply offer so much more for your time & money.
I really hope you guys at Fatshark pull your heads out of the sand and save this game long-term…

Every skin in V2 was unique and highly polished.
With DT they’ve gone for a modular system so it’s easier to combine parts, alter them so they look different enough (to their taste) and produce a paid skin by mixing with unique parts.
They can change the color, motif and material with their shaders system, so that’s partly why we get recycled parts.

Regarding the fun… I just stopped playing again because the missions get stale with no proper choice for conditions, etc. There’s no exciting reward you could hunt for (complete blessings III & IV, trigger events like in Chaos Wastes (V2), have chance to find a special pile of mats, …I don’t know, something different).
And yeah… I can’t even enjoy more gameplay because I’d like to test new weapons and playstyles, but: crafting. So no. :sigh:

Agreed, I should not need to have almost 70 QOL mods installed right now to make it bearable. Everything from fixes for the broken localization, through better UI configuration, better graphics options, right up to more menus, sounds and visualizations - and fixes for things that have been broken seemingly forever.

Or things they said they wanted to do but aren’t prioritizing. Like height and name changes.

@Rocker_Fox , @Armchair , this makes me sad. Like, gut wrenchingly sad. I love warhammer 40k. I love that my ogryn is a Bullgryn model I made a while back, with a back story, and everything I imagined. I love that now I can actually play a game WITH THAT CHARACTER……I hate, that I have no options. There are like 3 melee weapons, and a couple of guns, that if you don’t take them, you’re throwing as an ogryn. I hate, that much of this, is the crafting system. I should be able to make my weapons look, how I want them to look, and play how I want them to play. The fact that I have to essentially start from ground 0 with EVERY weapon I pick up, and break some stupid locks for a blessing, I hate it. The fact that I have to pray to the Emporer, that the 2 traits are worth a damn, I hate it. The fact that I have 2 attempts to make the weapon as good as I can before it locks me out, I hate it….

The whole crafting, and cosmetic situation of just the weapons, makes me sad… Sad Bullgryn.

Yes!

Considering we can still get stuck under parts of the environment with the smallest character when you slide against them in some places, being able to bump your size up just a tiny amount saves people from having to create a new character so they don’t get stuck in the map.

It boggles me that height can change what cover you can use, your hit box, as well as the angle of melee attacks, and the solution to change it if you don’t want it… is to start over. Modders already created a fix so, I don’t how much dev time it would take.
