Things that strip the fun out of the game,

Nope, not what I am saying at all.

I am playing it right now on my lonesome, typing between matches obviously. But other people won’t play because they don’t have the time or inclination to install 70 mods to make the horrible UI and UX bearable when it shouldn’t be this way to begin with.

Vermintide had many great things that Darktide doesn’t for reasons unknown.

I just don’t bother. If I want to try a new weapon I just get whatever version of it I can find. Can’t be arsed with the crafting aspects of this game. Did it for a short while. Never again. Life’s too short. I’d rather whine on these forums.

I even don’t mind the Mourningstar as such. I don’t mind walking between menus. The time spent is tiny and the keep was the same. I just mind that we don’t have proper mission selection, that crafting doesn’t work, that the holodeck is more or less useless unless you have mods so stuff fights back.

I’m really glad to hear that. I’m being dead serious. I’m having fun when I play missions, but not when I have to upgrade gear (so I just don’t). I do not want to tell other people to not enjoy the game just because I don’t.

Of course it can. Premades are more fun than pugs.

I honestly hope that in the new year they finally take the crafting systems issues seriously. The talent trees, phenomenal, now do that with the Crafting lol

It is depressing that there is a mod that fixes about 70% of the problems OP listed. Unfortunately no mod can fix the gatcha machine that is Brunt or the brick-maker that is Hadron, not completely. There are mods to make crafting less painful but it is the difference between getting a hand cut off or your entire arm, no matter what you still don’t have a hand.

Yeah they should never have poured resources into these two new maps and these two crap new roaming bosses, not before fixing the thing that is causing the most players to quit. Most everyone that I know who has played the game likes the combat and the art design but hates literally everything else.

I think it was a great decision in a way, got more eyes on the game, celebrated their launch, and brought more money to the project. I just hope they actually do something with the momentum instead of spitting in a corner.

MTX cosmetic store, lack 2-handed weapons (ogryn), lack of maps, lack of any meaningful end game content, timed ”gatcha” shops.

I disagree, i think having more eyes on the game makes it more glaring when alot of those people left after hitting 30(maybe not even) because of all the issues and those people might not care to even keep up with patch notes for a game they quit so they may never come back, whereas if part 1 was a crafting overhaul and part 2 was the QOL fixes from part 1 and 2, you would’ve brought back everyone who left plus more, plus there wouldn’t be a crafting exodus like there is after every patch.

They’ve already told us that they’re going to use this momentum to go on vacation…

Oh boy, 6 weeks to watch player counts drop because no one can build the new weapons they added. Hopefully they don’t leave all-pox hounds on the whole time like last Christmas.

Can you tell a content drop happened? I can’t. Seems like it’s trending down to me.

The problem i always have with the people defending the numbers dropping is people use the old numbers to excuse what should be higher numbers. Warframe does this bad too, they have a terrible on-boarding experience after the tutorial, everyone has been saying they lose a tone of players because you basically open the mod menu and just turn off the game, no instructions, no information, just a big screen with 30 different mods on it that you have to figure out. Digital extremes says that it wouldnt help retention if they fixed it, but how can you know that if its never worked to begin with?

Swedish company, they actually get reasonable work hours and holidays. I know it’s an insane concept, but they are also human beings.

Where I come from the project managers make sure that the workload is distributed so that progress continues when people go on vacation. Fatshark seems to shut down the entire office and bring everything to a grinding standstill for weeks at a time.

I’ve never heard of anyone shutting down an entire building for 4 weeks. Vacation time is all well and good, but everyone taking it at exactly the same time with no overlapping work shifts, literally setting yourself up for failure…oh wait. 4 weeks later they all come back, have to catch up on 4 weeks of missed work and emails, 4 weeks of feedback. Just madness.

I mean, as a consumer who pays price for product - I dont care what their work schedule or management is, working hours, problems, issues, or crunch. It’s their business to make it so they deliver finished and good product while having good work environment. There is this narrative that tries to push on us to pity poor developers because they have to crunch and they try so hard and that’s why we have bugged, unifinished, false advertised products on launch and we should be understandable and wait year for them to finish product.

No. I don’t give a dam. You don’t go to restaurant and hear “sorry for unbaked chicken breast, our cooks are tired” or to car saloon “sorry for your car not having seats, personal at factory is tired and have to go on vacation”. I don’t give a dam. They ditacte price for their product and want our money for it. That’s fine and dandy but I want to get product I paid for. It’s their job to manage their product to finish it and deliver on market. Developers don’t work any harder than millions of other people in different jobs and yet only they cry for understanding that product is unfinished on full price release becasue “they work so hard”. Ye, wish my company could say the same to customer “sorry for not finishing your house roof but our employees are very tired and need to go on vacation. We will finish in 3 months. Pay full price”.

Fatshark for me can sit 24h at work or not, not my problem. There is still content and features they promised long before launch that are still not in game and crafting system still is mess and sucks.

So they should maybe either try to manage their projects better or get to work.

To be fair that’s a law the country enforces vs company policy. Coffee Stain is the same way. Great CMs for satisfactory.

Not sure thats a bragging point when looking at a studio that is barely scraping by on providing to their consumers that have been requesting certain issues be fixed for 12 months.
