Of what enemy? I think groaners have around 0.75 hit mass, so you’ll get 2 to 3, depending on cleave. I think poxwalkers are somewhere between 1 and 1.5, so you should get 1 to 2.
Brutal Momentum. Headshot kills do not reduce the hitmass budget of the swing, and they also do not progress your damage falloff - if your first hit kills enemy 1, then you will deal full damage to enemy 2 (and this can chain)
I think BM no longer damages after the 4th kill, but you can take 4 enemies from full HP to dead in one attack. If you miss the headshot or do not kill, your attack behaves like a regular attack.
It’s less effective against elites, since you’re going to get fewer one-shot kills, but it’s a significant boost to your horde clear. The combat axe drops to about 70% and 55% of base damage when cleaving (i.e. with a First Target multiplier of 1x, since above or below 1x that has no effect on your damage falloff), so you get a lot of free damage if you can keep headshotting.
Honestly, the Grippy still slaps, less damage versus Crushers but more CC/versatility overall than the revolver. Besides, when it comes to Crushers (or anything else for that matter), if you have Uncanny Strike on your knife then it’ll apply the rending stacks on Blades of Faith with subsequent weakspot hits, both from the knife itself and the blades. Cue 2 or 3-headshotting Crushers like a Zarona with your blades, and it’s a 2 tap if one of the blades is thrown out of Shroudfield.
But yeah, MKIII Knife with Uncanny and Lacerate here (pretty much God roll on everything), and also a God roll Grip shottie. Blades of Faith for blitz, Shroudfield and Inex. Judgement. Haven’t been able to move away from this build for some time now, love it and how it’s able to deal with priority targets so effectively from any range. Horde clear is so-so but nothing that spamming knife light attacks and dodges can’t handle to ball up and thin-out the poxwalkers so as to isolate the Elites for heavy backstabs if they haven’t died to bleeds yet like everything else.
oh your maybe right, its only the push attack that cleaves up to 3 pox walkers
standard light and heavy (heavy vertical, so irrelevant)
push attack

ah Brutal you meant. I know that from when i first played the game and also used it, but not sure with what axe back then.
I dont think i’ll change it to BM IV if i get one, because it’s really good axe this way.
bleed-crit-ability cd actually paired with chorus, but thinking to switch to FotF again.
Also tried Shroud to backstab Crushers etc. but i think Chastise/ FotF is best because of Flak armor.
