The Zealots Thread

i love my pal, no matter what.
played with IIIb and Achlys or Gorgonum Gunlugger and (i know not worth it, but very fun) lucky bullet.
love Shield and spam heavies or Bull Cleaver or Shovel XIX, used Rumbler back then and love the Kickback.

cant answer to all, but great replys.

question.
made a knife bolter piety bleed crit build with lots of toughness, but overall damage is low, whats wrong?

found a pic, itā€™s ok, but wouldnt buy it, would like some sigillum sanctum on it.

The bleed, I focus on single target (left side of tree). Ogryn is more about sustain, which is weird considering they are the biggest. But if they had both, we would see more of our big pal.

My main Zealot build is support. Or how I like to call it : ā€œThe Shoutiest Shoutyā€

Its basically a max-crit-chance ult-reset build. If played right, you can spam holy chorus with only a few seconds in between each use.

I donā€™t know what is meta right now, iā€™m just having fun stun-locking a group of crushers over and over again ^^

Once upon a time there was a nice crusher skin in the shop. Back when a bundle consisted of 3 pieces of clothing, 2 weapon skins, and a trinket.

Free movement. Zealot is a very graceful class if played right. Slippery and unstoppable like water. Zealots have the combination of movement speed and stamina regeneration that feels just right for me. Also I cannot stress enough how much I like Thy Wrath Be Swift.

40k water is weird, it keeps shouting and preaching at me

Thatā€™s baptism for you!

Iā€™m glad people are finally on wrath bandwagon, I was advocating for it back when it stole your death healing with the old Vermintide 2 rehash tree. Not getting hit stunned in the game built around dumping damage on you in hitstunned states is goated beyond belief.

Also I wish Veteran had talents for ranged spread. It makes the autoguns so good here, along with that duelist node. This is the ammo hog loadout people should be using, you massacre the entire game with the gun talents + judgment keystone.

tried some stuff mentioned here.

Axe is nice too, but cannot decide if Tac II or VII.
II swings more horizontal than the VII.
I have both with Brutal Momentum and Headtaker, couldnt get anything better.
got best overall melee damage i ever had in the game with the MK VII, but was good team and i was on a rampage.

Tried also Combat Blade VI with Riposte + Fleshtearer, also good.

Thereā€™s actually a good Steam guide on crusher, most stuff you can discover for yourself and/or confirm in the grinder.

For instance itā€™s interesting to see light1 powered cleave vs heavy 1 powered overhead, which the guide goes over and even has handy little vid clips.

P.S. Skullcrusher is a must imho, especially given the the other blessings are all impact related.

Martyrdom: Crusher and Boltgun. Crusher stomps everything but bosses, Boltgun handles them and is pretty good at taking out snipers.
I stack all the toughness I can while maintaining free movement. Itā€™s really fun zipping around smashing into the enemy headfirst.

Mama just got a GOD ROLL for the Zarona Revolver. 80% damage, 80% reload, 80% mobility and Hand Cannon IV are the highlights. Sheā€™s so happy that yā€™all helped her get here! Thank yā€™all so much!

I fÅÆcks with Crusher blazing piety crit build all the time. Recently started toying with the mechanics of throwing knife canceling the bolter draw time for on-demand rocket barrages.

The only things i just canā€™t get the hang of left on Zealot are thammer builds and, for some reason, heavy swords (is there something off about the turtolsky mk 9 attack inputs? I feel like my attacks are delayed or getting eat up all the time).

Bolter for crushers, and bosses if you want ranged to murder the big stuff. Best thing on Zealot. Just run throwing knives to take care of specials.

Though evis kinda murders big stuff already so I think what you are running is already complimentary to each other.

Zealot is not only the best class, itā€™s also the most fun and the funniest with the best melee weapons. Ogryn obviously has an edge, but they lumber around and I donā€™t like their abilities. Even the bolter is viable because you donā€™t really have to whip it out all that often with the mad melee weapons you get to pick from.

Wellā€¦ Iā€™ll just be unloading my zelly excitement here then.

About idk 1-2 months back (shortly after they released the new Evi XV), I tried a Martyrdom build for the first time ever. And that was like love at first fight (see what I did there?). :joy:

Iā€™ve played the game on all classes since release on 2022, and never tried Martyrdom before! I just couldnā€™t stand the idea of useless wound curios. But my godā€¦ +20% attackspd, +40% dmg (!!!), and +25% toughness dmg reduction is just absolutely insane! I mean I do a ton of experimentation and there are many fun builds to be had on zellies but Martyrdom just singlehandedly changed everything.

I only discovered it because I noticed through testing with the other keystones that the Evi XV needs that 20% attackspd buff to reach speeds where it can naturally handle hordes on T5+, and theorized that with the +40% dmg on top with the XVā€™s easy headshot cleaves it could reach a point where I could finally rid myself of the age-old cleave blessing Evi meta. Also Inexorable Judgementā€™s +20% attackspd was too unreliable in mid fight, so Martyrdom was the only choice. And it worked like a charm!

So my XV has Shred & Rampage (been thinking about Perfect Strike instead), and itā€™s borderline broken levels of strong! I can basically just charge right into anything and spam lights no matter what is there aside from crushers. And since it does a ton of crits, I have massive toughness dmg resists on all the time, and especially with big groups FoF frequently recharges literally in a few seconds thanks to Invocation of Death.

But that was just the beginning. Because then I realized the opportunities the same Martyrdom buffs give other weapons! Long story short, every one of my zelly builds save for whatever random experiments Iā€™m running on the last slot is now running Martyrdom:

  • With TH, it transforms them from slow underperformers exclusive to boss killing, into good horde clearers while easily reaching 1-shot breakpoints regardless of your perks on all enemies on T5+, and makes them even better at that boss killing!
  • With a Crusher, it massively makes up for its lower dmg, and with the attackspd lets you reach all kinds of stagger breakpoints way faster while also making it even safer than before
  • With a BM Axe, it just makes it crazy strong in every way and turns you into a meat blender
  • etc etc

Also speaking of THā€™s, another thing I realized a few weeks back was that while nobody talks about them, the talents Duellist (+50% weakspot & crit dmg on dodge) & Good Balance (+25% dmg reduction on dodge) are crazy good on a TH! Since the TH really needs Until Death for the invuln and Thy Wrath be Swift for the stagger/interrupt immunity (btw works on everything like ranged & fire too, not just melee), Duellist & Good Balance are just 1 talent point away each. THā€™s are just slow enough to depend on constant dodging, which procs those two all the time, so the buffs are virtually always active and oh boy do they make a ton of difference!

Anywayā€¦ yeah. :joy: Got a bit excited. But yes, Martyrdom and THā€™s! Iā€™d gotten quite bored with my zelly and mostly just stuck to maining my psykers lately, but these two really transformed the class into crazy fun I find myself frequently going back to. Itā€™s easily become my second most played class now.

Did the Agrippina BAG VIII got a nerf?
Actually paring it with the Tac VII, but i feel itā€™s weak.

What state are you comparing against? Pre-patch 13,or something more recent? Iā€™m not sure if thereā€™s been any changes to the Agripinaa since patch 13 (assuming it hit changes then), the only other changes I can think of would be the melee elite health buffs, such might make it appear weaker.

I havenā€™t used it in a long time (I prefer the Columnus BAG), so I canā€™t say much as to how it feels now

Which attacks specifically? I noticed with the VI/VII, the Vanguard lights felt a bit slower than Relentless lights, I wonder if that Vanguard attacks on the IX share that?

In isolation, Iā€™m not really sure - I donā€™t really use the IX much (I really donā€™t like the special combo timing :joy:)

Not sure if it got nerfed but even if it did itā€™s still plenty strong imo. Very few people use it but most of my zelly builds have it and one of my vet builds is built around it too. Itā€™s been my staple ā€œidk what gun I want, I just want something thatā€™s good at everything up to mid rangesā€ choice for a very, very long time.

Edit: Oh and btw that weapon in particular is crazy fun with the +attackspd keystones or FoF!

its kills almost nothing, not sure what is wrong with it
ah wait it has only 66% dmg :frowning:

edit: too many options, iā€™m lost in builds and loadouts
