There is no problem just pueril complain
Thats the real problem in the tide community, people who think that only a diff 5 exists. That is not the case and the balance must be addressed for all diffs. Something that people like you forget all the time. (I was speaking about charged swings btw)
If you had read all my comments, i said, it could be nerf at lower lvls. Kiss
But if we think like you :
NERF FLAMERS CAUSE IT CAN KILL WITHOUT RELOAD A WHOLE WAVE WITH SPECIALS INSIDE
NERF PLSAMA GUN CAUSE IT CAN 1SHOT EVRYTHIN AT T5
NERF BOLTER CAUSE IT S BOLTER YOU KNOW
NERF PSYCHER SPELL CAUSE YOU CAN KILL ACROSS WALLS
Blaaaaaaaaaaaaaablabla
Just give a dual wielding Power Sword to the Zealot, upgrade the force Sword to Power Sword Standard and give a similiar weapon to the ogryn. All will be happy
They ll add new weapons so we can expect this sort of thing bro
What does ânerf at lower levelsâ mean? Are you saying you would make a weapon behave differently at different diff levels or character levels? Either way, thatâs a silly idea because people get used to something over time. Making the weapon behaving differently over and over will only confuse players and make playing the weapon on different diffs extremely awkward.
You are right, i mean lower it when you are not max lvl and cant be able to do high difficulty missions. But you are right, it s temporary, in definitiv here, we see it s clearly problem of few ppls that still stuck in normal or bit harder difficulty and using a cool weapon designed to do the job in T5.
So, can we stop complain for noting and play, and enjoy the whole game ?
Yeah we can stop this right now
bb
And what difficulty have you been using the Shovel and Chainsword on your Vet?
Personally Iâd never bother with any of the âChainâ type weapons in Heresy or Damnation, theyâre far too risky and far too clunky and youâll likely end up taking damage when using their special features.
The only Melee weapons Iâd even bother using on Damnation would be the Shovel, Rashad MK 2 Combat Axe, Antax MK V Combat Axe and the Power Sword for Veteran and even then, itâs going to boil down to either the Shovel or the Power Sword in most situations.
Since the dodge changes, a lot of melee weapons arenât as up there, because as of this moment a good offence equals a greater defence in most situations.
And like Iâve said, thereâs not really been any constructive criticism or solutions provided on how to nerf the Power Sword, once more throwing in âpower levelâ or broad sweeping strokes into the mix. Like should it have a fixed number of empowered charges for attacks? Should the heavy attack be slower? Should it have even less mobility/stamina than it currently does? Should it get a cooldown on charging? Thereâs more ways to argue the point other than saying âItâs too strong!â or âIt steals fun!â or claiming itâs âobjectively brokenâ without demonstrating and pointing out each facet regarding the weapon, or what environments it has been tested in.
And as for the empowered cleave, I donât really think itâs a bug, it seems to be the intended feature of the weapon to make it stand out, if it was a bug itâd have been fixed by now just like the Lacerate blessing on Dagger performing unintended effects on other weapons in a loadout. The whole idea of the special ability is to give it more damage, but more importantly make it very effective at cleaving through hordes. By this same logic, because the Bolter can do so much damage and kill so many things so quickly, that TOO should be nerfed right? Thereâs more to balance than just damage numbers, especially for the higher difficulties, which a lot of these complaint threads seem to fail to address, only hyperfocusing on the Power Swordâs strengths with great tunnel-vision.
Also >The nerfs coming.
Are you apart of the dev team? Can you cite your sources? Since, from the thread of the title along with a lot of what youâve been saying, youâve been contradicting yourself throughout the entire thread by claiming that you are ânot asking for the nerfâ. Why do you need to warn people? Then argue that it needs to be nerfed, then complain itâs âtoo strongâ or âobjectively brokenâ, are you passive-aggressively demanding a nerf whilst seeking confirmation bias via the forums or something?
Cause thatâs the impression youâve imparted to me at the very least.
And well, of course heâs going to be disrespectful when youâve acted in a rather ignorant and bullish manner in retort to his opinions.
^^^This guy knowâs whatâs up. Seriously, the argument is âWhy is your lightsaber so lightsabery? Your Lightsaber shouldnât do lightsaber things!â When it should be âWill you fix this lightsaber? Darth Pox almost took my head off when it shorted out after three swings⌠AGAIN!â
And if anyone wants to say it isnât a W40K Lightsaber, remember Inquisitor Eisenhorn had a relic powersword without a blade. It was just energy field extending from the hilt.
last week mostly heresy , this week more malice , too many weeklies to get done and that heresy pug que is a little busy with penance hunters right now.
well as i said in my last reply to you
isnt this the textbook of a strawman argument? take someones statement distort it and use it to try and ivalidate the original?
but i dont think so , i dont see the logic there you could be right but id bet against it i think the bolter has enough drawbacks to balance it.
well its not my thread im just one of the voices saying its op, and no of course i dont Know for certainty its comign im not part of the dev team it just seems so blatently obvious this weapon is a long way outside the capability of anything else it just seems obvious to me it has to get balanced at some point.
well quite possibly , didnt start that way had a lot of people missrepresent what i said or fail to understand it ive had to restate things in a lot of different ways to make my point clear
no Need its just this is a forum
sure why not
yeah think you might need to go back and check the order i lost my patience with him after he completely changed what i had said, and went on ad hom tirade , after having reviewed this thread i feel like i was quite restrained
You see that special action button? Try pressing that in difficulty 4 and 5.
So sick of meta-slave bolter+powersword gamers coming to D4/5 and dying or simply not being effective. lol
Earlier I was saying having to turn this on ever three seconds is danged annoying. Now, you can get into a rhythm with it, and I donât think itâs that big a nerf to have to turn it on, itâs just irritating to micromanage.
I was comparing it to a car,
Most people in the US canât drive stick shift anymore. I am one of the few who can. If you can, (whoever is reading) you possess a rare skill, or maybe youâre European, where I hear manual transmission is more common.
When you drive a manual transmission, you need to use the clutch to disengage the transmission before shifting the gears, or when you come to a stop.
When I was learning, the clutch was NOT well explained to me. I would stop without hitting the clutch as I came to a stop.
The engine would die. Iâd be at a red light and Iâd have to restart the car, which was hard because you have to give it some gas, hold the break, and the clutch all at the same time if youâre on a hill. Or youâll roll backwards. Three pedals and two feet. The parking brake was in a good spot in that car though, so you could hold that while managing the clutch and the gas.
Seriously, got old fast having to start the car ten times to go around the block because the engine would kick out every time I stopped. Eventually someone told me what I was doing wrong, and Iâd have been saved a lot of trouble if Iâd had a really good explanation of how the clutch actually worked.
Still, if I had a close call and slammed on the breaks, for awhile after, I would sometimes kill the engine because I was focused on the break and not managing the clutch, which is better then being in an accident but stillâŚ
But, if you fumble the clutch on a manual transmission, you WILL have the engine kick out and youâll have to start it again.
Today I have a semiautomatic transmission. I can run it as a clutchless manual or an automatic as I please and thereâs paddle shifters on the wheel. Iâm glad to be free of the clutch.
But⌠THAT is one of the reasons why I hate the specials button on the chainswords/thunderhammer/powersword. Because I feel like Iâm a kid who doesnât know how to be smooth with the clutch again. I can get the ryhtem down, swing, swing, swing, reapply, etc, or apply, wait, wait, reapply, swing. Itâs not even that hard a rhythm, so taking out this irritating micromanagement wouldnât make me that much more powerful, it would just give me an easier time managing it.
That doesnât have anything to do with power level. The power sword is simply garbage weapon design. It is simultaneously overpowered and obnoxious to use. It will remain that way so long as it you objectively always want the weapon to be in its powered state for every swing.
Original poster here.
Guys, I changed my main to veteran from zealot.
Letâs not speak harshly to each other.
I mean whatâs good is good, right?
I have no problem using power sword now.
It is quite balanced.
That was a massive post to say I donât use chain weapons or TH at all.
The real problem with power sword is charging up doesnât expand your move set for different situations.
Evis reving up makes you deal big damage with the down side of locking you in place till the strike ends.
This means you donât pull it out and rev up right away you only rev up when you need to deal with a high HP enemy or a large horde you canât just cleave though.
If thereâs to much armor after you reving up and hitting can get you locked in place and killed but you chose if you want to take that risk.
TH has only ST charge up and big recoil so you almost never want to use it unless you need to take out a big guy.
But thatâs what makes it great you can swing down hordes easily but when a big guy appears you just need to charge up and thereâs a down side to it for that extra damage.
The power swords just out right more damage more cleave every time you charge so of course you want it always on because you only got positives from it.
I have played a lot of zealot and now quite a bit of sharp shooter and power swords not OP since itâs limited to just sharpshooter.
The main reason is it might be good but itâs limited to only sharpshooter who has NO mobility or tanking in melee.
On the other hand zealot has so much movement tanking and ways to chose what melee fights to engage in and I use evis not dagger or tac axe.
Sharpshooter is just bad in melee beside high damage and cleave the power sword gives.
SS has no good positions tools that is the strongest part of melee.
Yet more posts on why this sword is âbroken opââŚ
I can run through malice with it and straight up not care what happens, damnation? Nah mate, crap dodge range and time to charge, better to let the zealot/psyker hold the horde while I murder the run ending sniper/bomber, horde dies eventually who cares.
Dunno why people are so obsessed about âbalanceâ when they havenât tried it on the hardest difficulties. Veteran gets melted in melee because he canât move like a zealot can, if I commit to recharging in melee iâm risking going down right then and there - big no no. If a nasty sniper pops up or a crusher, contrary to what people believe you ARE NOT going to cleave that down mid horde and you will NOT have time to dodge back, prep the bolter and drill it - you are down.
PS is NOT a broken weapon, might seem like it is when you run into vets on tiers 1-3 but FS shouldnât be balancing anything around those, they should be making other weapons more viable and FUN.
Iâve seen zealots run around with 1hp soloing the boss on damnation, with the horde around, no amount of OP power sword required, just skill.
Not after I find out they stink. You use a weapon, itâs awful, you find something else.
And no other w40k game does this in real time, the closest they come is to have executions (like in Space Marine) where the execution gains health instead of getting you killed. And incidentally space marine uses the exact same move-set for the powersword as it does the chainsword. (Really, in that game the powersword is a reskinned chainsword for pvp.)
Right. Which sucks. Same for the 1h sword, though itâs a bit better on the evis. Now Iâm curious why itâs easier on the evis⌠I bet itâs because the evis can clear the area of chaff before the big hit, and can make the big hit from further away.
Still, self stunlock isnât a feature I look for in a weapon.
BTW, I dunno why, but your post is formatted weird. I donât like to give people a hard time about that, since really it should be about what you have to say, but it does decrease readability. Maybe when making a text break hit enter twice instead of once?
I think thatâs the whole fun part of chain weapons and TH though you got lots of attack that you can chose from.
You got like 8 different moves on evis to chose from for any situation and they are all good and once you know when to do what itâs amazing fun.
Daggers and tac axe got spam light and maybe heavy.
Power sword has push, swing fast, cleave, swing fast with more damage or cleave with more damage.
You can always just pick a weapon with no special rev/power up if you want a simple weapon with a more limited move set.
They are definitely faster than the evis.
Also your probably right I should format my posts better.
