40$ game with free additional 14,000 aquilas and plus the set
and pc users only got the vanguard set but never the 14,000 despite being the original supporters of the game.
why would they buy it if they didnt get any aquilas

you can go pay 40 dollars right now and get 14k aquilas, just like gamespass users could. or you can continue to play and not buy the aquilas, just like gamespass users

the entire point of the 14k aquila thing was to give people who have gamespass 40 dollars of aquilas if they buy the game anyway, which they have no reason to do otherwise because having gamespass lets you play it without buying
i think the promo was also available for xbox the console version, beside the game passes on xbox and pc
to the point where PS5 didn’t get the deal aquilas nor vanguard set, simply because the ps5 port was made only later, because delayed etc. which this is even unfair when it was supposed to be made even earlier if not at the same time as xbox.
i guess that’s an oversight if you can but i sort of doubt many people who use xbox or microsoft store for gaming don’t have a gamespass
also ps5 players dont have gamespass so it wouldn’t have made sense for them to get anything like this
the 14k also apparently was only for the imperial edition, which was the equivalent of 60$ not 40$
where if bought the base edition on game pass i guess, you would received instead 9,000 which is the equivalent of 40$

and i think originally they were supposed to be a PC only (steam and microsoft game pass only) but then they made it that also xbox users could get the vanguard set i think. so pc users do not have any type of exclusivity or anything, it is not a very good “thank you”, a better thank you would been if they gave the 14k and 9k to the corresponding versions to pc players too. but pc never took part of this promo despite pc always supported the game since the begin.
they could still done the promo for the people buying it to the very first release day granting the vanguard if bought to the first day of release, technically.

i mean catfish is even calling it “pc players concerns” but then consoles can get it anyway so i think they were just confused and didn’t really know what they were doing
the game was released in 2022 and then only later in the 2023 they release the set, idk if it was even an early support kind of thing. early support i’d consider just the preorders, which were just the portrait frame and thats it

yea while still getting the 14k or 9k if getting the base version, xbox console version too for what i seen. that’s why to me was unfair for pc players. and i think honestly it was never really a thank you for early support but due to marketing PR they did something in general just to boost things.
Looking into the history of this gear, the circumstances, and where we’re at, Fatshark should probably just add these cosmetics (or something similar) into the game as earnable rewards at some point, Emperor knows we need more earnable stuff out of Hestia anyways. There is no logical excuse for them not to at this rate other than the arbitrary “exclusivity” of it imo.

I understand that it’s not exactly a pressing issue especially at this time, but some word on this, even a definitive “No, never, stop asking”, would be better than leaving the question lingering in the air at this point. It’s getting to be silly to see this pop up every few months each year and people having disagreements over it to no avail.

i’m against making this specific set available again because the point was to give existing players something exclusive. that is the reason it was time limited.
it’s literally the only time limited cosmetic in this game that WASN’T time limited because of fomo and we want to change it? cmon. start with event rewards, premium cosmetics. if any cosmetic set in the game has a reason to be time limited, it’s this one
Yeah the penance reward set is very similar. Same blue, slightly different configuration.
While I don’t hold fast to the idea that these cosmetics need to be exclusive (imo none do), I do agree that premium/event is a higher priority. Maybe that’s cuz I’m sitting on my pile of fancy vanguard gear

The Vanguard bundle was given to us because console players got 4000 Aquilas for free when Darktide was ported to console, which sparked outrage in the PC community, and rightfully so, considering that we PC players had suffered through an early stage and broken beta game that was being sold as a full-featured complete product with a running FOMO store.
The bundle was never a fair substitute for the 4000 Aquilas that console players got for free, and a CM called us PC players “Pearl Clutchers” for pointing out that it was unfair that console players got all of these Aquilas for free while we PC players beta tested Fatshar’s game for free and without any thanks or a real apology from the higher up.
The bundle was Fatshark’s panicked attempt to extinguish the flames after firing the “Pearl Clutcher” CM.
Give the bundles to everyone.
All it is is a bitter memory of Fatshark’s poor game management in the start of their life cycles.
i think it does matter lol. maybe not to you but i don’t get how you and cathis are just taking this stance of “doesn’t matter, just ignore the counterargument, it’s safe to say you should just ignore the people with a concern and just do what i want”
this pack was given to people up to a time cutoff to thank them for supporting the game. the aquila thing may be one of their stated motivators for doing it, but in the end every player, including those who got the aquilas were allowed to get this bundle.
that doesn’t mean it’s worthless it’s just an early supporter type of thing. i disagree that this needs to be made available for everyone. if we want to start cutting down on exlcusive sets, start with the 200 cosmetic sets that are fomo out of greed, then the event rewards that are fomo for retention reasons, and THEN move onto this set, which was explicitly just a thank you
