Potential increase of attack speed by 45 %. Potential increase of power by 20 to 25 %. Potential increase of crit chance by 30 %. She has a lot of different options in her melee kit. Comparing to Kruber she may lose out on Cleave. But saying the kit is less powerful is … daring. It is maybe more difficult to apply.
I said potential. This does imply that she cant have all at the same time. Those are nonetheless significant buffs.
No, i do not count Swift Slaying. It is 45 % without Swift Slaying which you can just dump on top of it. And she doesnt need to spam dodge constantly. It is one dodge every six seconds. Most players do that in horde fights anyway. And it is far higher than the needed time for dodge counter reset. So there is no issue there.
If you consider Focused Spirit a meme then I take you have issues avoiding damage. Even on Cataclysm this can easily be used and is helpful in several builds for example a Bleeddancer build.
Gift of Ladrielle is a trap because you throw away better options for some invisibility.
She has increased dodge distance and can take block cost reduction or more health on top of that. Handmaiden sure as hell has no safety issues. If situations get rough she can still escape with the active skill (without the need of having GoL) which is available like all the time.
Elites are rarely numerous enough? Of which difficulty we are talking? Hordes usually come with enough armored elites that having the crit chance is a huge boon. Bleed Dancer has other advantages. Both of them are good in their respective role.

I think i´ll have to open a thread for discussing this at the rate this is going

Ignore this arrow. Was off topic.
1h Sword has decent bodyshot armour damage on heavies. Just needs a buff to infantry damage in exchange for some of its dodges and it will be a great weapon.
Dual Swords are very tiring to use, but are also super safe unlike some of these other weapons. At least they cleave armour.
Dual Daggers have the highest single target dps. An extremist weapon has to pay a price somewhere.
Spear isn’t any weaker to shields than any other weapon, but I agree that it’s poor in mixed situations. Having only 3 dodges doesn’t help.
Glaive’s light attacks deal pathetic damage to armour even on headshot (with Smiter it’s 17 light bodyshots/9 headshots for SV, definitely needs an increase here). It’s very much limited to using heavy attacks to kill elites and is otherwise a worse Exec.
2h Sword has a horizontal attack but it’s locked behind the heavy stab + its stats aren’t much better than the lights. Strange weapon overall. I’d like to see that horizontal sweep cleave armour and Heavy Linesmen added to the horizontal sweep.
Asrai Alacrity is pretty overpowered on weapons with good push attacks (you can also just push then light or heavy instead wasting the buff on a push attack if it’s not good for the moment).
It’s okay. It’s more effort than talents like FK’s Have At Thee yet yields the same reward, and being deactivated by even 1 friendly fire damage is just silly. I still use it for style points but 15%?
I miss Eldrazor’s Precision. Would have gladly taken -10% attack speed for the power buff (would mesh with a slower and more precise elf playstyle, though that playstyle is as rare as a Saltz that isn’t flailing his arms randomly).
Avoiding damage constantly is a suboptimal play. Needing to revive in gas, distant ratling you can’t focus on yet, Rasknitt’s lightning attacks, Sienna/team ff etc. I’m also not so sure about the need to spec for specific Bladedancer breakpoints. Unless you’re running ahead, won’t your team damage the enemies you applied bleed to as they are bleeding, meaning they’ll logically die with just the base bleed damage in the same amount of time?
Are you both implying that Gift of Ladrielle needs a buff?

Edit: Sorry Incandescent.
I made a new thread for this stuff!
EDIT: Removed for being off-topic.
To the topic: I say make the Masterwork Pistol more clunky but also more powerful! We don’t need all weapons to be smoooooth. We should be thankful that Fatshark is trying new stuff out with the delay of the weapon.
I wish other brutally powerful weapons would be more clunky like the Flamethrower which is nowhere as clunky as it should be.
This is getting off topic.
Simply put, Masterwork Pistol is a tad bit janky with too much damage for little power investment.
Other things to note, the close range horde clearing speed is very similar if not better than a Firing Fury Crossbow build.
Its a high risk high DMG weapon. Just because it’s good against storm vermin doesn’t mean it’s good against other enemies. It sucks as at CW. No DMG whatsoever on superarmor unless you crit it or headshot.
Especially it’s shot delay on primary fire and DMG drop off.
And it’s alt fire unless the enemy are close you can’t kill them.
Can cw with 1 clip? How is that op? You have to land all your headshots. With other enemies coming at you.
It isn’t op.
Its just a niche tool for clearing SV patrols. That too only if you have your ult up on RV. And are hugging them making sure your shots aren’t going missing and hope that the enemy a.i doesn’t break their patrol path after getting alerted and circle around you.
Because even a single enemie that escapes your shot is enough to cause trouble after RVs ult goes off.
The weapon is fine and isnt op just because you are good with it and have good aim.
If at all crossbow needs buff. This gun is fine.
It can’t be used to pick of distant targets like the BS, Gas Rats, Flame rats, rattling gunner soon enough without taking DMG with one shot like the crossbow due to its DMG dropoff. Also the gutterrunner is really risky to kill with this weapon due to delayed primary and the secondary being innacurate and having to fan it before hand to shoot at the Assassin while it’s jumping at you provided there are no other enemies on you.
While the crossbow is excellent dealing with these situations.
Masterwork Pistol = Good against SV and beserker
Crossbow, handgun = Quick guaranteed disposal of armoured specials before they dmg you at any range and disposal of other elites and specials from a safe distance.
It isn’t op, it’s overall a better weapon.
You could say the same for rest of the ranged weapons too. Pretty sure only handgun is capable of damaging CW without needing a crit.
This similar weakness is present on every repeater weapon yet they still do half the damage and are as or tiny bit more accurate. The weapon is an absolute outlier by just having a slight trigger delay.
Even if I were to agree with this assessment it still generally does enough damage to 1 shot every special in the game almost regardless of the distance even in cataclysm. Rest of the repeaters like the pistol could need 6-7 shots if we ignore headshots.
I’m just not seeing how the weapon is anyways bad at dealing with specials.
Repeater handgun is already one of the go to weapons for kruber and it does not even come close to the pistol dmg wise.
Also welcome to the forums.
Yeah… no.
If the distance is not some against the grains wheatfield then yeah in 99 % scenarios the ranges are favorable enough.
I know you won’t agree based on the past discussions but i generally haven’t found issues.
(Even then 2 shots is nothing compared to repeater which has to hit 4-5 in similar ranges)
Masterwork Pistol does need adjustments but it definitely can’t one shot every special at all ranges.
Hopefully the video(s) load, a rough damage drop off showcase with EP + 10%
Repeater Handgun can 2 shot specials at almost any range, including Globadiers.
Probably has an easier time doing it too.
Another note, can anyone confirm if the Masterwork Pistol has a slight travel time?
I guess I was bit hyperbolic but what I’m after is that it 1 shots or the very least 2 shots them from ranges that actually matter.
There is almost never a situation where I find the need for a 3rd shot in cata.
barely any risk to it outside trying to quick shot assassins. you 1 shot SV, can 1 shot Bestigors, 2 shot Maulers, absolutely destroy monsters, 1-2 shot (depending on range) every special, 2 shot berserkers (can 1 shot with power investments)
imagine walking around with a handgun that can fire 6 times in relatively rapid succession AND has a pretty high ammo count. The damage drop off comes in pretty fast but it only means you move from 1 shotting to 2 shotting, it’s not really that big a deal.
why??? crossbow is a very reliable choice for sniping
that’d be fine but the problem right now is that it’s too powerful currently for how clunky it is
increasing both aspects would likely lead to it becoming little more than a glorified monster killer
The only dwarf ranged weapon that needs a buff currently is Throwing Axes.
Sure other weapons might overlap a little with Crossbow but it’s a damn fine weapon.
Are you referring to Legend or Cata?
Just run Masterwork Pistol on Waystalker with Ricochet. If it has slight travel time(like BoP),it’ll bounce around
Cataclysm requires some additional power but can reach breakpoints to 2 body shot every special with the exception of Wargor and Packmaster.
Huntsman’s passive Poacher’s Mark helps extend the range a bit, but worst case scenario 3 shots on Merc or a FK without “Comrade in Arms”. With the recent animation changes, the rapid alt fire is usable/good enough to use at range now too.
This is inconsistent as far as breakpoints go, and requires questionable builds. It would need to do 45 damage per shot at long range for that to be possible, but at best it can do 36.03 with Enhanced Power, 10% vs Chaos, 10% vs Skaven and 20% vs Infantry.
So you have to rely on Huntsmen’s range increase which will make even the Blunderbuss deal with specials well, FK’s power talents or Merc’s power talents. FK can bring this terrible build up to 44.5 which will 2 shot provided the special gets staggered by the 1st shot (this means if you land 1 shot and it manages to get away, next time you see it, it will be 3 shots total). Easier to reach on Merc, but still inconsistent.
3 is the average case. This can go up to 4 for Packmasters.
