The lack of *bare* minimum matchmaking is a failure for versus

Matchmaking has been an intensely debated topic, many people are against it deeming it impossible or that there will be too few players for it to work properly, or that new players must “tough it out” which is very harsh, we need to help new players, not punish them for trying out a new game

The complete lack of it has led to a slaughter of new players and an awful experience of utterly one-sided fights of most new players who bought the game on sale, I’m surprised there are still as many people playing as there are and not all of them have yet left after dying 20 times in a row not even halfway into the map and just as many defeats

I can understand, why people would not want a full blown mmr system with ranks and brackets and such, it is too much, takes away the casual nature of this mode, but this game absolutely needed a starters bracket, of some kind, any kind, there’s a million ways to do it

People who’s combined hero level is below 20 would have the game TRY to match them against people who meet similar conditions, or there can be a dozen different ideas to handle this, that’s it, something simple to shovel off the new players to get at least a little bit of experience on their own would lead to a much better experience for everyone

It is already too late to salvage this sale, it’s a wild guess how many people will have the patience to suffer through awfully unbalanced pvp to learn it, but it is a fact that many had a poor experience, both new and experienced.

Hopefully they’ll have the tutorial ready for the next big sale.

What caused me to write this is how bored I was in today’s game, we kill the enemy team before they can even get out of spawn, and meanwhile we walk through the level with minimal problems because 3 of the enemy teammates had quite literally 15 minutes of total playtime each, while my 1k hour teammates made fun of them “rage-quitting” :cold_sweat:

You could open the all-chat and give them some tips on play (stay out of the gas, find sneaky spots to attack from as rats …) and generally let them know that there are friendly people to play against once they get used to it.
