Step 1: put PvP mode in the game.
Step 2: set no level or playtime or campaign requirements whatsoever.

Note that their entire team was with us from start to end. Bless their poor noob hearts, they fought valiantly and did their best without giving up. Their fourth guy only RQd at the very end, so he didn’t even get the consolation price. Yes, they did get murdered in all rounds before reaching the very first objective. And we got to the sanctuary, all 4 of us, in both rounds.
I feel f-ing dirty and like I need to shower but I won’t turn down free XP and coins when the matchmaker most of the time puts people like them in my team (since I mostly queue solo) and puts me against people like my teammates. Once again, our team was not even a premade. This is just simply insane, the fact that games like this happen on a regular basis, even if usually with somewhat less extreme results. I can’t fathom how nobody in a decision-making position thought about the implications of a lack of ranked matchmaking or the lack of setting any sort of requirements before a new player can go into VS.
Lets be honest. In pretty much every single game for last 15 years you can go straight to the game and enjoy. Cos they have SBMM, bot lobbies for noobs, noob pools, or other systems for new blood.
In 2024 it is very hard to find ANY pvp game without MM.
And i am pretty sure it will kill Versus in long run.
Never understood why people say “There won’t be enough people” for matchmaking
There were plenty enough during the sale but we lost most of them due to no match-making
That and, there is always enough people, there can be 16 people playing the mode and the system can still at least attempt to make the two matches fair, what do people think, there just won’t be no matches if the system can’t find the perfect 4 v 4?
in the long run it might be just a small niche versus community of 50 people who have played the mode for 100s of hours and are all hardcore at the mode. Any sub 35 players will just get kicked because they most likely will be bad in comparison.
