Yeah, honestly, if i didn’t already own it and was looking to buy the game now, just the 55% rating alone would be enough to deter me, not to mention the reviews saying “just play DRG or V2 instead”.
How can this be a memorial if we’re still alive?
you are dead inside, trooper!
It was assumed we would never win this war… but they have said they are looking to make changes. Just can’t share “why, what, or when.”
I don’t think we ever stood a chance to be honest. It’s been months and we’re still here, kicking the hay all the while yelling at the clouds.
Y’know it sucks. Fatshark makes some great games, but why do they have to ruin the fun with dumb systems. Like seriously. Did Vermintide 2 really need a leveling system that outstayed its welcome after level ten? Did Vermintide 2 need lootboxes with RNG drop rates? Did Darktide even need a freakin’ gambling system forced into its design.
The whole thing is flabbergasting because none of these games need this crap. Core gameplay experience is so enjoyable that it sells itself.
Even if never stood a chance for changes. I feel point is made across if can deter future prospective players who are “thinking” about buying the game instead of gamepass. It’s a good game if game pass as a quick distraction and then play other games on game pass, but not outright purchase.
VT2 all had to do was play, no item shop, just get level 300 items and hit 650 total. Now an reroll trait and properties without silly locks. Reroll as much as you want and materials cost was very low compared to number of missions you had to run to salvage components. No grind.
Weapons you didn’t want were still useful for salvage into materials.
The number of traits was limited, so it was easy to reroll to get the trait you wanted. OK the properties were very numerous though to reroll.
The maps, oh god the maps in VT2 are beautiful.
- Abandoned village
- Graveyard
- Farmland
- Church
- Sewers
- Dark caverns
- Visual feast skittergate
- Going up a gigantic tree vertically
- Snowy mountains and cliffs
- Fighting along the rivers
- Mountain towns
- Castles
- Mining caves
- Forests
- Escort, hit switches, throw barrels etc all sorts of mechanics in mission segments
OK VT2 had 2 years to get to all that wonderful map designs. I bet after 1 year DT, will be just another 2 maps that just look the same.
I want DT to be success, but they’re just not getting the message.
Sitting here, reading the forums waiting for all the low int crap to go away while giving this a push lol
“An open mind is like a fortress with its gates unbarred and unguarded.”
Fatshark CEO probably
Your measure of success is different than theirs. You see a successful game as one that has time and love put into it. One that is fun for the player… FS sees success as a game that makes them money (full stop), and by that metric DT is successful enough with or without a long term player base.
+++ Success is measured in blood - yours or your enemy´s. +++
The locking of this thread may truly mark the beginning of the end of DarkTide. “lest we forget” to bump this thread and keep discussion alive.
That or we just open a new thread to complain about the game.
Guess I’ll have to make it part of my weekly weekend routine like doing the laundry or mowing the lawn.
I was tempted to type just a “+” to keep it at the first possition lmao
I last played Darktide December 26th, after accruing 200 hours during the beta.
That was the point I uninstalled, and while I knew I wouldnt get it, contacted Steam about a refund, seeing that the game was a complete shitshow, and a clear case of false advertising.
Coming in here now, I see that nothing has changed, and the crafting is still absolute dogshit, and frankly, while Id like to say I am surprised by their lack of progress, this seems just like how Fatshark always is.
I guess I will check in another 7 months from now, and maybe, just maybe the game will have improved just a little bit.
#unlock the crafting before the game dies forever
where are you from? its odd that steam rejected yer refund.
Got to love Steam’s 2hr refund policy. Half hr is already lost to tweak graphics settings, key bindings, tutorial to show game mechanics etc.
They should just make it 2hr trial, so don’t have to go through purchase and refund. Means everyone will try more games and might buy more games.
At least then my friends who bought Total War Warhammer 3 on epic store will stop bugging me to sync and download steam mods for them. They can just download trial, not open, sync steam mods to use on their epic store version.
hehe exposed for raged quitting
Welp. Someone pin the Pending Action Items thread here.
