But from that thread, I can now answer a question for him.
@CommanderJ - we now know it was all Practice. Simple training for what came after!
You’re welcome.

Unfortunately my mind had wiped away most of my memories from my days of fighting for a better VT2, which lead me to sadly jump into Darktide - even though I ought to have known better.
Thanks for digging up old memories, though!
It’s sad because it’s true.
Also I think that was written long before they started up the whole cosmetic business in VT2. I had stopped playing by then.
Bro, bro, bro. So did I! This was a thread I created a long time ago:
And its sister threads:

I have another account on here but I’m holding that one to heart.
We atleast got this, so now, we wait and see.
I will say this was basically assumed by all but the dumbest of people.
Like yeah it’s great they confirmed it but you would have to be an amazing goober to assume that they would do an itemization rework and not touch crafting.
Speaking of that has anyone done a wellness check on Ol_Jackal yet? I think them announcing they are reworking crafting might have given him a heart attack.
And Nish and Cerebrophage likely.
He’s posting, but it cut off in the middle, so maybe the anger finally finished him off.
(Had to add the “FAQ” section to the pastebin… couldn’t keep the names on the thread with the size limit)
I mean at this stage I favour single target damage builds across classes i.e. Crusher, unyielding, Monstro etc due to hordes being easy going, which rounds down the inventory complete for me.
Just don’t see the point in wanting to explore in crowd control/horde builds if staring at crafting reroll click spam takes me away from actual mission time.
Times I want automation to set dockets/materials spend limit, select what I want then leave it AFK craft so I can do something else without interacting further. Same materials costing to go through, no gameplay imbalance here just saves time.
25 million dockets, 900K plasteel. The grind is null for me now, but it was the actual ballache reroll screens why I stopped playing RNG crafting and only engage when a good stat weapon with 2 good perks/blessings allows full choice of last 2.
I only try to show how it hurts new players or rather potential buyers as I don’t want increase match making time if active playerbase drops too low.
New online games spike high in player count then drop sudden after few months. There was a few coop games I wanted to buy and I check to see low playercount, pretty much tells me it won’t last long enough to warrant purchase.
Be neat to organize a movement to refuse gambling on the new weapons to send a message that yes, the crafting and itemization should have been priority one, day one.
555 now. Bets on what the number will be before the Itemization/crafting overhaul will be at when it’s released?
@brosgw : please add me to this wonderful thread, since 3/4 of my posts on the dt reddit are about how this crafting lottery has hurt darktide since the beginning, and 1.5 years later it should be obvious that if this was intended as a measure to retain players, it has rather driven them away. while people like me have stayed despite it, for simply liking the game.
Welcome! Would you like a ceramite or plasteel casket while you wait?
plasteel please, with some diamantine ornaments. at least later generations will be able to craft something out of it, without RNG.
Sorry, I’m afraid we can’t use Diamantine. We’re forbidden by the Omnissiah to find actual uses for it. Changes in that policy are caught up in the Administratum, though we’re expecting changes after the High Lords get back from their holiday…
TBF we’re the expendables shopping at the company store.
We’re earning company vouchers to spend at the company store to buy the dregs of their equipment reserves. Knowing what I do about company stores back in the day before consumer protections were in place, they would’ve absolutely given their employees RNG access to things if they thought of it.
If we complain too much? A Lasgun will be our reply because there’s literally thousands out there who can do our job that are right here on this ship that aren’t going to complain.
Doesn’t make it a good gameplay feature, but it fits well with 40K being worse then IRL.
Your will be done #557. Good to hear news from our battle brothers in the reddit sector.
