Beautiful.
Whereâs the inclusivity for us nerds playing Kerbal Space Program? This post is outrageous!
If weâre going to put games behind that door that are more worth playing than darktide, weâre going to have to put almost all games behind there that steam has to offer.
Kerbal Space Program 2 would like to know your location.
So very glad I smelled the smoke and didnât buy it. Despite KSP giving me so much wonderful fun.
Canât be as bad as payday 3, right?
right?âŚ
Thankfully itâs one Iâm watching from afar as well, but⌠oyâŚ
My only worthwhile build currently is just chaining attacks back to back with a tacaxe. So itâs just a constant dance of dodging and smacking so that I break that chain as rarely as possible. I was trying to roll something new for a few months before I gave up.
It seems alot of sequels become inferior to their predecessor.
Lets face it they purposely release sequels which they know is bad but just need to pull the wool over the eyes of enough people to make money from it.
Early Access - Best to base purchase on itâs current state with no promises on future. There are no obligations once money handed over.
unironically wouldâve been better if darktide was released as early access
Impossible. That would require telling the truth about the state of the game.
exactly
With early access pricing of ÂŁ15-20 because it is internet dependent and very few distinctive maps.
Truth be told if they released a game
- Offline play
- Ability to self host as server with friends without game server requirement
- Steam mods and including server mods. âAll enemies are crusher mod!â
- I mean seriously some QOL mods are a must. Why not integrated into game yet.
Untangling DT from FS server dependency would of easier added more value to itâs price. Dare I say you would of probably paid a bit more even.
the move to dedicated servers was defo a mistake. Itâs one of those things that they got dumped on for when they didnât do it for VT2 but peer-to-peer is preferable in games like this imo
massive agree, wouldâve made it easier to focus on just getting the game up to speed instead of being put behind on content
Fully agree. Solo mode and picking maps you want would have been in. There would have been less need for certain systems to justify the overhead cost of the servers. And when they eventually turn the servers off, no one can keep playing. And itâs only a matter of time. May take 15 years but itâs not feasible to run forever.
I think the problem is that they went all-in either way. When people asked for dedicated, itâs not like they meant only dedicated, just the option, like l4d2 has both available.
Exactly every comparison made at that speculative stage was with games with a lobby browser that features both officially hosted servers and player hosted servers, KF1&2, l4d 1&2 some battlefieldâs that era of games when actual features werenât controlled and monetized to infinity
Fatshark half-assed it and went the save âwe control everythingâ route, which is somewhat understandable tbf, but still pretending the community got what they deserved when no one asked for the âgames for windows liveâ model is just false
NGL people probably were asking for dedicated servers to remove the whole âyour host has bad Internet, enjoy the worst match in existenceâ problem.
Fatshark couldâve looked at the complaints and realized it was about a bad internet experience and realized that setting up dedicated servers would mean dedicated servers that didnât fail all the time. Which they clearly werenât ready to do.
yeaaaa the servers are mostly solid for me but when the issues do hit itâs jarring af. Iâd take my 250-300 ping I used to get on VT2 over DT server hiccups any day because the former was at least consistent enough to get used to and play around.
what @Rainman brought up wouldâve been ideal
