The Book of Grudges: May Each Be Struck in Time

They had all the groundwork set for them from VT2. They had all the framework possibly needed from VT2. If they had used the knowledge learned from VT2 to expand upon Darktide this game would be averaging 20-30k players, minimum.

well that just changes the “Fatshark is lying” to → “Fatshark is utterly incompetent in communcation”

don’t get how you would want to draw the line there

People, devs, games, just change plans.
Aint nothing wrong with that.

Ye people who leave reviews are usually either really happy or really mad, then mix in some moderate views in there.
50/50 aint so bad when you then consider the actual moderate views on the game not being accounted for.

Key word COMMUNICATION

Wasn’t the most recent large balance pass horribly received?

Eh, yall just chucked it up as lies.
Which ofc some cases, isnt wrong.

Man that balance pass was hilarious. They made Engi too strong. It got so bad that people were kicking Engis in-game when they joined.

Then you had that awful Bounty Hunter nerf.

In some ways, especially as a dev (and a person, probably), I would agree.

However, making ‘executive’ changes deserves explicit communication otherwise you risk annoying people. As we can see clearly here :speak_no_evil:

Fatshark has chosen to walk this dangerous path… I don’t think this merits the scale of straight-up insults they receive (I do get it though), so I’m very glad to see that the Book has been opened – this is the feedback they truly deserve imo!

No doubt. People love throwing shade anyways though.

Unless it’s already there and I just overlooked it, I’d propose adding onto the list, the apparent disappearance of any active CMs.

There’s nothing I can add to the thread beyond what you good folks have already mentioned.

The only thing I truly want for Christmas is for the Agripinaa Revolver to have its range and penetration buffed, because you see, my cybermule doesn’t like when the heretics are laughing because he gets this crazy idea that they are laughing at him.

Now if the heretics would apologize, like I know they’re going to, I might convince him that they really didn’t mean it.

I’ve thought about it, but Strawhat is a part-timer, Catfish is sick, and Quickpaw is both also a part-timer and mostly V2. Aqshy quit, and Hedge and Septicemia were either fired or quit as well.

It’s bad enough they’ve deputized a couple of ‘community heros’ to do the moderating. Surely there will be no consequences to handing power to a Discord moderator and whatever Incandescent does.

If there is a decline in the quality of forum moderation thanks to that, that’ll be a grudgin’, but currently it’s just generic ‘we don’t have enough people’ problems rather than something specific to Darktide. I’ll add a line to their comms problems, though.

Yeah, at least they have now announced them as moderators. I saw some people be confused when told to behave by a ‘community hero’ they had never seen around before.

Announcing it was a Very Good Idea.

I wonder who suggested it to them!

Me. It was me.

Imo the biggest thing the Agrip Revolver needs (outside of maybe a little bit of penetration) is to retain most of it’s accuracy while moving. It’s a bit insane to me that the high mobility variant is less accurate while moving compared to the standard variant.

Y’know, feedback is a very interesting thing. You can either listen to it and use it as a basis to improve your product which will raise your quality; or you can ignore it, as is the case with Fatshark, and suffer for it. I look at this studio, the games it has made, the years it’s been in operation; and there’s been one thing that’s been consistent throughout: communication and feedback. Whenever feedback does get acted upon it feels like only 2% of it is actually implemented while the rest is ignored, or, worse, none of it is listened to; and there’s absolutely no communication on the ‘what’ or ‘why’ of the feedback gets acted upon. Further, in regards to communication, it’s nearly impossible to hear anything about what different departments are working on.

It takes months to get a word or statement on things; and that’s frankly a problem in of itself.

Meanwhile you look at this other studio, The Astronauts, that is involving itself by responding to feedback, addressing things, and it fills you up with confidence on the product which in turn gives you a positive impression of the studio. Here’s an example of their recent blog. They recently did a survey where they asked their players to write mock reviews of Witchfire. They then went went through each reason why someone won’t recommend the game and, more importantly, how they plan to address this in future plans. It was quite interesting to read:

Consolidating all our pain points into a single post is basically doing the CM’s work for them, lol. IIRC Catfish said something about gathering all the feedback and putting it into a form the devs can use - in this post we can do it in a less-filtered manner to get our own personal take on it across without fear of sanitization, and it’ll remain concise and useful.

In regards to the FOMO tactics used by the cosmetics store and how more than 3 pages would destroy everyone’s mind. Please note how this stands in stark contrast to the already functional and working vermintide 2 store.

At this point it’s like pretending that you’re doing a favor for someone while you rob them.

Edit: we know it can be done. its been done. its been done successfully. We’ve all seen it and know it, no point in pretending otherwise.

You know what, there is more here in regards to the cosmetics.

For the drip exists. It stands flying in the face of fat sharks selling recolors scheme. It shows just how easy it is to rotate the pallets, and how many colors are available.

Here’s some example posts showing how popular the idea is

I’m so annoyed about this in hindsight I’m going to make my own post about it, kark it, I’ll even make a video
