Inflation exists, so that doesn’t make a lot of sense. Your dollars are worth less than they were 20 years ago. Expecting them to continue to buy the same amount of videogame is unrealistic.
you know i briefly thought about getting the atari jaguar back in the day just to play alien vs predator.
as bad as console AND game were in hindsight THAT would have been the most expensive one in my collection.
just to give you a glimpse of how far we took “the good fight” in the 90s
And we mustn’t forgot how big gaming companies are nowadays, nor just how much bigger the games themselves are.
As much as I don’t like to see prices going up, it is frankly unreal how stagnant game prices have been.
Not that unreal when you consider the heaps of money they all cash in on various MTX systems. People end up paying for the game several times over.
i mean yeah but come on 70$ for a “quadruple A” game that ended up being worse than sea of thieves was a clear indicator some companies have run out of things to create and are resorting to scamming their player bases.
like idk about you but i would be fully willing to buy darktide at 70$ if it was better optimized, it’s that enjoyable an experience at least for me
Those MTX systems are a symtom of games no longer being profitable through sales of the game itself.
And we know that the vast majority of people don’t buy into those MTX system, at least not in sums that affect the bottom line of the company.
Instead they are hoping to catch a few “whales” as they are so affectionately referred to.
I like everything, but you whiners
We got Russian Jakal before Skyblivion?
If being limited to the current offering is ok for you, that’s fine. Most people however prefer having every option available so they can take those they want at any time.
This being said, it’s funny how I wasn’t convinced when darktide came out and it was 40 euros, because I’m a cheapskate who buys only at steam sales until @Index convinced me, and now I guess I’ve spent about 10x that on skins since release, and it’s even the first time I’ve bought skins in a game, ever. I mean, that’s coming from someone who first used skins in Quake (from 1996), and those were bitmap files one could download for free…
Oh, there is something I absolutely need in DT: multiple keybindings options, like in VT
So I can finally use the weapon special of some weapons while keeping my favourite scroll up option
Oh, thank you! But they should really implement that
There is/used to be a QoL feature thread iirc.
This IS a QoL thread
I would love a mod to remove the comments that are completely off topic.

Most laudable reference work, brother. This tickled my fancy good and proper.
I really appreciate your commitment to this sticking point in particular. Lotta other people would’ve seen the fan “solutions” and just accepted that.
this made me laugh
It was a promised feature. It needs to be delivered. Simple as that.
