finally someone said it, anyway i post here the review i made on steam (was in italian translated with google):

Personally I don’t like FPS, I played the classic Doom and Hexen many years ago, I liked them a lot but I never went further. Modern FPS games all seem the same to me, devoid of atmosphere, banal, mediocre at best.

Darktide is different, it is able to resurrect the magic of the first Doom and Hexen, precisely because the world of Warhammer has a rich and elaborate lore (a story) in 30 years of books and board games that have just as much lore. The same goes for the aesthetic sector, you cannot compare a video game made in a couple of years to Warhammer which has artists who have been designing settings for 30 years. Every insignificant object present in the world of Darktide has its own meaning, has its own history and even its own personal magic, and even if you are not a fan of the world of W40k, these things are noticed, perceived, and immerse the player in the game .

And an incredible job was done with the music that accompanies the match, epic and lyrical, worthy of a high budget film, you feel the importance of your mission, you don’t think “it’s just a game” you are completely immersed and participate in every single action and situation.

Multiplayer games very often lead to game toxicity, for various reasons, Darktide turns off this toxicity through various expedients, first: if you are all close together in a group your “robustness” thoughness increases, and the blows received do not damage life but precisely the “robustness”, this leads the players to look for each other, to ensure that the group is always united.
Second: looting (items taken within the mission) are equally distributed among players, no matter who takes them, which avoids the unpleasant behavior of fighting between players for looting.
Helping your team is convenient, if a player has been hit and has exhausted his energy, he can be recovered by another player, this behavior in the long run improves combat situations (as well as giving a medal among the penances that the player can do within the game)

The gameplay is rich, 4 classes, plenty of weapons, the possibility of blessing weapons and changing some of their characteristics, which implies high customization and the study of the best skills to include in your armory.

It has some downsides, but overall I don’t feel like addressing them, as it isn’t that debilitating to the gaming experience.

It indeed is mighty fun in mission - otherwise DTs bad parts (eg crafting out of hell) wouldn’t bother me.
For me the combination from 40K atmosphere and combat gameplay keeps me returning despite it’s flaws. But best game I ever played? No. Best L4D clone I ever played? Yes. Though I‘ve a serious 40K Hyperfocus for the last year and a half and thus may be biased. ^^

To be honest, when I started playing Vermintide it took my interest very well, but for short time. But when i saw first Darktide trailers… I was thrilled. I saw many game trailers before but I was never thrilled much by them, even a big series as Fallout, Half-Life, etc. Maybe its because many studios are making conveyors out of their games, with very crappy starts and news, or just making very bad decisions on universe.
Darktide felt almost like it should be as WH40K game - music inspiring on further achievements in a battles against the true evil in eyes of an unshakable faith in his inspirations and religion human, grotesque structures and items that uses the extremes of many religions balanced between dark fantasy and a comical reality, with sound ripping through the ears right into your own soul to feel like you ARE the reject - all of that made me more immersed than any CoD games with their cinematic bullcrap and their “overrealistic” animations, textures, etc. Maybe because Warhammer is meant to be imagined by anyone in any way possible but with its rules and lore. Maybe game have some issues, but so far my experience in it for past 3 months and 550+ hours is mostly positive. The only one thing that I HOPE Fatshark will do as GW does - listen to overall community, and make hopes, dreams and ideas come true.

No, we are not allowed to give Fatshark any praise! But yeah…gg?

the only shooter I like more than darktide is a one shot that never got a chance to shine called Syndicate and frankly I’ve got a certain amount of biased because the game holds a special place in my heart from a time when co-op gaming was two friends on the same couch fighting together to defeat hordes of foes. This game is easily my second favorite shooter of all time.
