So you are observant enough to notice that, but people claiming they want nerfs to make the game harder and more mechanically challenging while glossing over a barely week old nerfs that made the exact opposite somehow goes under your radar?
Look i got out of my comfort zone by calling the nerfs inadequate for the desired purpose, how about one of you repay me by not being blind biased and forgiving to displays of inconsistent larping because guy used the magical word “malice”?
thats just you making a false equivalence
nerfing crusher spawnrates arent the nerfs to player power people want, it’s part of the overarching idea to reduce crushers then nerf player power. they went too hard on the crusher reduction (which relatively buffs player power) and not enough hard on the player power nerfs
so you’re really just playing semantics queen. in relative terms, the crusher nerf buffed player power so of course the “nerfs” made the game easier. thats just you playing with words
and yes, the concept is sound but they didnt actually nerf player power much. that’s the whole issue with it. scale went down on the player power side again. functionally this patch buffed players. now the issue isnt them addressing crusher spam though the issue is them not actually nerfing player power outside of uncanny
honestly i am kind of apalled that you thought it was a legitimate cool argument to make that “the nerf crowd wanted nerfs so why arent they happy when fatshark nerfed crusher spawnrates and nothing else”
it’s the kind of thing normal people say as a joke. did you really think this is an intelligent argument that will convince anyone you’re doing anything except be inflammatory? why even bother coming here if all you want to do is say obvious bad faith things at people you dont like? go do something good with your time instead
Kobe wouldn’t die if he also made a post about nerfing all op weapons. He’d be seen as a living saint then receive millions of positive views on this forum. The nerf supporters would revive him from the burnt helicopter remains
I don’t know what forums you’ve been on, but the general consensus I’ve seen is “They’re taking a step in the right direction, but need to do more” not “yay, the nerfs we wanted now the game is balanced!”
Bob here doesn’t comprehend that Fatshark balances in “batches” and literally do not have the time to completely rebalance the game perfectly in ONE HOTFIX. Or maybe he’s just angry that they didn’t buff his precious Mark 5 Duelling Sword or something, I don’t know.
Yes, Darktide’s easier than it was before, but that’s fine for now as the balancing is now a lot better overall, with the exception of Inferno Staff. It’s not complete as of right now, but it’s still a step in the right direction to bring actual skill expression back to Darktide. Sure, there’s definitely more to be done.
Fatshark simply has to keep up the momentum and keep chipping away at fixing Darktide’s balancing until it’s DONE, set a strict expectation for the intentional Power level, and nerf anything that goes beyond it back into line before the entitlement sets in.
There are subsequent changes to be made regarding making Enemies more difficult to fight, especially outside of Havoc, but to expect all of these changes in one Hotfix is insane.
I appreciate your optimism but I also fully expect Fatshark to continue quarter-assing every update and making no one happy. Maybe Admech will have a finished skill tree this time.
when hive scum (premium 15$ class) puts his unique original ability, the stimm supply crate down, other characters to this day yell “MEDKIT DOWN” because its just a slightly edited medkit and they couldn’t even be bothered to remove the voiceline trigger
maybe admech will get an ammo crate reskin that accidentally benefits from veterans field improv
Hey, it’s a team game, ok? What does it matter who gets the kills, it’s a team game. Sure I didn’t contribute anything or even get the chance to because something insanely OP vaporized everything before I could do anything, but it’s a team game, and I was there, in spirit. I won because it’s a team game and there’s a “me” in team (also in meme). Flashy sounds and lights are fun, and the “you’re winner” message at the end makes me happy even though I put less effort into it than a bot and still facerolled to a win.
You’re right, it’s going to take a few patches and some time to rebalance Darktide. That said, this would be a great approach for that little balancing kerfuffle (Inferno) that seems to evade every patch.
Saw the video, looks so much better than current Inferno staff.
I want my team to have the freedom to use any weapon or build that they’re able to chose, and for that build to work well enough that Meta chasers won’t simply boot people.
This create 2 scenario:
Both of these can work, but one is doing it in a much more roundabout way.
Nerf and buffs are tools that need to be used for better balance. Disguarding one because it hurt your gameplay adequacy is not a good thing.
