Steam reviews at 48% only 9% more and the game will be in the "Mostly Negative" state

I don’t mind a profit, but yeah, this needed more work. More then that, it feels like it needs leadership.

This game feels like it’s trying to be vermintide with lip service to w40k.

It’s trying to be melee and ranged at the same time and as a result it’s having issues with both. Like the speed bump animations going to ranged, the reverse falloff on lasers ( seems gone now but still, it was there and they didn’t even tell us) so many things to nerf ranged to keep melee afloat, then they loaded melee with vermintide weapons and nerfed the high tech melee to keep the plain ones like the machete and shovel viable.

Then the best class was vet, the ranged class. Who also had the only really good high tech melee… which they nerfed with micromanagement.

It’s like a watching a sailor try to walk on land after six months at sea. He’s all over the place because his balance is wrong.

It’s too many things conflicting. No single vision.

Game needs a hardass drill sargent or a general with vision.

I just changed my steam review to positive

The state of the game is already terrible state.
And Devs have the bright idea to give in to weirdos with an inferiority complex to nerf the wrong class, and weapons
A quick way to kill the game.

The devs need to stop listening to nerf whiners and BUFF the stuff that is a hassle to play. If they brought up the Psyker to a level of Zealot and Vet you would see A LOT less people whining, if you brought up the zealot exclusives ( specifically Thunder Hammer and Heavy Sword) you would hear a LOT less jealous Zealot players crying about the Powersword. The only thing this game has going for it is the gameplay, DONT make it worse.

how is warhammer fantasy any different tho?

True. The question we should be asking is what did the developers accomplish during the last delay? How much work was actually done prior to 2021, and then between 2021 and 2022?

I have a feeling that the delays only gave them more rope with which to hang themselves. :man_shrugging:

I’m curious too, everyone seems to think the project was scrapped halfway through and redone, if that’s true, I wonder what the original version looked like?
Maybe it will all come to light at some point…

That would actually explain quite a few things, including the perplexing waste of Dan Abnett’s talents. I remember a similar thing happened during Destiny’s development, and the cutscenes made it very obvious.

I was so woefully letdown when I got my first character to level 30 and saw the final cutscene, not even a hint of a plottwist or anything, pretty sure someone just wrote the scenes in the last 5 minutes just to get it in xD
So completely uninspired and heartlessly done, it’s painful.

deserved. leaving for holidays with those bugged pox hounds and then make an event with increased pox hounds, sounds like a real bad april fools joke.
noone plays the harder difficulties. i think they coded out the tier s class, the ogryn to play with the smaller characters. when i play veteran i have not seen an ogryn at all and as ogryn i only see ogryns.
and this #!$%& event, who had that idea?
your fanbase is dying!

In principle, the same as after WoM. At that time, there was hardly any information or updates worth mentioning for 4 months and FS went into the Christmas vacations without comment or action…
Seems like no relevant lessons were learned or there was a rethinking in the studio.

I’ve heard that in tthe film industry, for each title they will shoot material for five or ten totally different films and then try to assemble something in the editing room that makes sense, all so they don’t have to commit to a single script in the beginning.

And the result is films that feel like they are having identity crisis when they finally make it out, because the director and the actors couldn’t really tell any one story.

Might be something like that in gaming now.

BTW, in about 100 years the film industry as a whole has had about 5 absolute ‘Fall of Rome’ level collapses.

I am not big warhammer psychofan in general (I like 40k as setting and I play Warhammer Fantasy as Table Top RPG with friends for years) but in general I feel (I might be wrong) that fantasy is way smaller than 40k for GW and from my own experience WH fantasy fans are nowhere near psychofans of 40k who are drolling getting overpriced SINGLE figure refresh on Christmas and they jump to pre-order.

Obviously I am not saying everyone who are interested in 40k are like that, I know few who love 40k and heavy criticise GW but in general they seem to be absolutey eating every single 40k release, no matter how bad it is “because it’s 40k!!”.

I’m mentioned and I feel personally attacked.

Seriously, this is every good franchise. It’s good because it’s special and the creators put the time in, then it starts to get big, then bigger, then it’s watered down to attract people who weren’t into it, then cash grab after cash grab until it dies.

If it isn’t in a good state, and you don’t want to say it’s in a bad state, why not just wait to review? Saying it’s good now with the idea of changing it later seems wishful at best and irresponsible at worst. People forget to change their review and we end in a situation like this where it releases and it rides the good reviews from BETA.

ill change my review when they add a scoreboard. ill only forget as long as fatshark forgets a scoreboard needs to be in this game.

its not their pr team, its the admins who decided the release date that caused this. i can guarantee that you could ask almost anyone “do you think darktide has good core gameplay” and they would say yes.

darktide doesn’t have a pr problem, it has a development time problem

My favorite game rn is Darktide forums. You know your game is flopping when people spend more time on forums than the actual game itself. The only other game forum I’ve signed up and participated in was New World after AGS botched combat and pvp.

Good times

At least you get to experience it over and over again as you take all your characters to lvl 30.
Apparently they went with quantity over quality on this one!
