you’d have to be blind to not realise a pc for 10x the prize of a mere console blowing it out of the water, it aint even the same game at some point.
were consoles struggle to uphold a measly 60 fps with settings that would range around low to mid, the main reason i’m even selling my life away at a full time job is buying a new rig whenever it suits me to play raytraced ultra settings at 144 fps.
and should the pc struggle at some newer game to constantly uphold that standard, it gets replaced.
now as for mods, i currently run a 500+loadorder on fallout new vegas that, while not 100% up to nowadays quality, propels the game so far out of what it once was, its basically a “new” fallout.
(yes 255 is the stable sweet spot, wabbajack and mod manager merge a lot to stay within the stable area and add 500+mods in total)
same with skyrim, fallout 4 etc.
once showed a modded skyrim to a playstation dude and a north korean in disneyland could not have had more sensorical overload.
new lighting, 4k textures, 144 fps (albeit sometimes unstable in term of ingame clock at the time)
dude stand jaw dropping to the floor.
days later he ditched the console, asked for a loadorder and bought a decent rig
sony wanting to downplay is like saying a trabant isnt worse than a custom tuned porsche 911
darktide feels so great in terms of combat fluidity cause pc was the lead platform and developers could adjust with proper hardware in mind.
not some 30-60 fps (most in the lower 40s) slideshow.
what pisses me off is dedicating my lifetime (literally) to obtain funds that afford me my greatest pleasure and passion and then have games downgraded before release to not melt consoles
(see witcher 3 promo material compared to release, took lotsa mods and reshades to make it look that way and guess what, even low end pcs couldnt run it let alone consoles.)
