Add a Catalogue Tab to the Shop with all old items?
Keep the Rotating Shop as no changes are needed?

Devs seem to want to keep the Rotating shop, as it gets people buying new things.
the problem is once something is rotated off, it may not come back for a long time or ever.
this problem will only get worse the larger the shop gets,
this also means if you want something thats left the shop you have to wait a long time.
and when it does come back if it comes back you may not want to buy it anymore.
this means that the devs have items they could be making money on but arnt as well.

make it like overwatch 2 Mythic Skin Shop, you get your rotating shop with new items.
but after they have passed the 3 pages of shop they become unavailable for 3 months.
after which they will appear in a new Page of the Shop.

this new page of the shop has all the Shop items for all the Characters.
everything that has rotated out of the main shop and is older than 3 months.
this way they can keep the rotating shop, but also give us the items we want access to NOW.

I would personally like this obviously. I think everyone would, I don’t know who on earth would vote against this (unless they work at tencent). Though its a little unrealistic.
I still argue for a catalogue of “generic” skins and a rotating shop of more unique skins, best of both worlds in a lot of cases.
It’s not a perfect solution, that’d be just having all items always available, anything less will always feel manipulative. That said it’s a solution I’d accept as a middle-ground for sure.

unrealistic in that the devs i bet literally would not be allowed to do that because the shareholders are morons who think that the rotating shop makes more money when they would be getting better PR and thus more people joining and more people buying cosmetics in general as most dont touch the cosmetic shop AT ALL unless there is something they really like which means theres a lot of people like me who WOULD HAVE bought a lot more cosmetics for different builds looks if they were always avalible like the black recon gear which i didnt snag even though i wanted it and the black krieger helm that again i didnt grab cause they werent worth it as much as i would liked them as i wanted to wait for something i liked better and that was more unique rather than just waste money snagging them.
like full stop, i hope this post gets more views and A LOT more votes to try and show the shareholders who are likely the ones forcing fatshark to shoe in these SCUMMY monetization methods see this and realize they could make A LOT more money since thats all they care about, if they just do what vermintide 2 does of just give us a full catalogue of all cosmetics that are availble and hell, if they want to add a way to make more money as scummy an idea as this is and as much as i HATE suggesting it, they could talk to the creators of the weapon customization mod and make that a part of the game and instead of selling weapon skins, they sell unique weapon parts so that way they can justify removing the fomo and just letting us buy WHAT we want WHEN we want…
Next idea: If they made all the skins free I would buy way more of them

If you want this system gone: vote with your wallet or work with consumer protection groups to outlaw it. Compromises likely won’t happen for the same reason your roulette dealer won’t “compromise” and give you better odds on each number “to be more fair and for the house to not have an edge”. In the same way gambling intentionally has odds that are disadvantageous for you, the store not letting you buy what you want when you want is intentionally designed and not a problem for Fatshark to solve; it’s one they intentionally throw at you to cause certain spending behaviors.
It’s basically the same model that publishers used for movie releases (before streaming came along).
Pay to watch it in cinemas upon release, or wait a few months for it to release on dvd.
It worked for them so I can’t see why it wouldn’t work here.
I still think the main reason they don’t add a full shop is because colour swaps and recycled bits would be too obvious…but the new rotation today is actually really cool and looks genuinely mostly unique so perhaps they’re hearing us and will get more unique stuff in the mix (making recycling less obvious) before giving us a full shop.
Besides the FOMO aspect I think the rotating shop may also serve Fatshark in having a more steady stream of income versus a big spike in purchasers perusing for items they want and getting all or just the favorites in comparison to the catalog.
Also this income spike will in fact be less since some items will be overlooked as players find the best or favorite piece. So it seems obvious why Fatshark has this system, though obviously we the player base do not agree with it.
The only benefit would be if they had the full catalog at launch with a bigger player pool they may have been able to get more spike sales before those players left…maybe sale’s team /analytics probably know best.
but everyone already knows that, anyone with the see all Cosmetics Mod, or For the Dip can see it more so. so i dont think that is much an issue
but that doesnt change the fact that every once in a wail they have to fill a new shop rotation with things they have already released. when this happens it takes the place of what could be a new set.
this also means that if i want to get the kriegs sets you have to wait for rotation, else you just wont get it, and at a 2 week location, it could be months or longer before you get some of these old sets.
If it wasn’t clear, I am 100% in favour of a permanent fully stocked shop. I don’t like the fomo model at all. It has the opposite effect on me.
I don’t buy things unless I absolutely love them because they’re so expensive. Fomo shop only really works if it’s cheap enough to say “heck I’ll get it just in case it never comes back”…but at the Scandinavian prices they ask for - ain’t no one got money to do that often in this shop.
definitely. there are a few parts i’d buy for the regular (higher) price if they just were available, like some pants last seen 2 years ago, but as it is, i’m trying to feed the fat shark and it swims away.
i would like to see this as well, i think if they offered a $1-2 recolor option for all armors, i know i would be using that, as well as im sure many others would as well. options options options
