Lower the shop rotation timer

When the community first asked for the shop to roll over every 2 weeks instead of 1 we were under the impression that we were getting brand spanking new sets each time a new one came out. Now that we are aware that half the time we’ll be getting basic reskins of old armor its best if the shop changes once a week. Its bad enough the cosmetics are overpriced; its worse that it takes so long for these low effort sets to move along.

I agree with you but If they set it back to 1 week intervals people will start flooding the forums complaining about fomo again.

The solution is simple: every 2 weeks they add a new set to a permanent catalog. I’d actually (sadly?) buy so many clothes for my dolls, instead of the meager amount I’ve spent over my 1k+ hour playtime.

I agree with Badwin.

If you’re going to make all these shop rotations, the least they could do is have a permanent catalog. But I guess that would obscure how many are recolors and rehashes, huh?

Although I would love a proper dye system, I’m personally fine with recolors because they’re purely cosmetic and the only post-purchase monetization scheme right now. And that’s fine with me as long as we keep getting free content. I’ve been playing almost daily since launch and yet I’ve only spent $60, the price of a typical AAA game, on cosmetics in that time.

I assume there’s some belief/truth that the FOMO is working to drive sales, but personally I’d be spending all kinds of time (and $) in the shop trying out different combinations if we had access to the full catalog.

There’s FOMO done right (purely monetarily speaking, F*** exploitative manipulative systems) and there’s FOMO done wrong.

The Darktide system strikes me as squarely in the latter — likely implemented based on general market research rather than specifically catered to the audience/use case. Adding to that, there’s been remarkably little experimentation to prove one way or another whether the system could be improved.

So I think that “belief” is in fact the operative word to describe the effectiveness of the store…

Yea I couched that because I’m truly ignorant of the reality there, but speaking only for myself I know they’d get more money out of me if there was a full catalog. I just know there are a ton of combinations out there I’d like to put together but can’t.

I don’t understand why they dont have a permanent catalog and just rotate what skins are on sale.
