Please let me just buy the cosmetics

The rotating store is terrible guys. There’s lots of cool cosmetics I see on other players. I want to get them, but I missed them. Now we get new stuff rotating into the store ever what, 2 weeks? I have no idea when the stuff I want will come back.

I’m playing the game right now with my friends. No idea if we’ll still be playing in a month or two when the items I want rotate back in. The attempt at a FOMO store is literally just blocking me and my buddies from buying the items we want.

Make the store have all items available, and then do a rotating Sale instead or something. Then you can still have the FOMO crap for the ppl that works on without blocking me from giving you money.

More than that, the shop only rotates the first slot, which is typically new stuff only. The 2:nd and 3:rd slot are just stuff from the last 2 cycles. Your odds of ever getting to buy specific cosmetics older than 1.5 months ago are almost astronomical, and if it ever happens you better hope you were around to check it out.

Personally I’m fine since I’ve been an active player since release, but I seriously can’t even imagine the frustration for everyone else. People keep complaining about FOMO but this isn’t that, it’s just really badly designed. They’ve long since gone from FOMO to just cutting their own profits by denying people access to 95%+ of what they’d want to buy. But well, it is what it is. Hopefully one day they’ll fix that.

Yeah. And couple that with there being so many items in this game, it really cuts down the odds. Like the current Helbore and Laspistol skins are gorgeous. But I don’t use those weapons, so I’m not going to buy them. I want the equivalent of those skins for the weapons I do like to use!

Also I would love to use the Helbore if it were better and less clunky. Missing out on sales because they aren’t doing a good job of balancing some of these weapons.

Could not agree more but unfortunately if they haven’t course corrected the real money shop for this many years it likely means they’re making an acceptable enough profit off of the current model (i.e. FOMO and other really vile marketing strategies- the people who push these are IMO actually evil/ethically barren).

If they are making a profit there is 0% chance they will change the model unless someone can bring them enough numerical evidence that opening it up will project a high enough threshold of profit potential to risk the current tap.

You guys don’t get it, FS are living in the future. They’ve created a FOMO system that’s so next level, it’s just MO.

Should’ve checked the store every other week like a good boy/girl. Now buy this monochrome red knife skin for 10 bucks.

I see that Fatshark still don’t want my money by making it normal Catalogue-model store instead of this idiotic FOMO rotation.

Cool, I will spend more on POE2 then. I offered a lot of money to FS, even gave them list of all (around 15) cosmetics I would like to buy.

Instead I bought zero casue I can’t buy the ones I like. Outstanding marketing move from FS.

you can say here whatever you want, fatshark uses the rotating model because they’re convinced that fomo earns them more than an always accessible shop.

you have to prove them wrong if you want this to change.

Can we not just point a finger at Vermintide 2 and Deep Rock Galactic and say “hey, look, these pricing models are significantly less scummy and just as if not more profitable, and one of them is your own damn game”?

That only works if the store in Vermintide 2 is indeed more profitiable than the one in Darktide.
Fatsharks got the numbers and we have see no effort nor desire to change the store, so we can only assume that the predatory business practices are working as intended.

But they dont allow me to prove them wrong since they don’ change store model

I’m sorry comrade, but the shop is closed. We will have bread tomorrow, actually no, on Tuesday.

We have some vodka if you like?

I bought the biggest “currency” package, I believe that already means they get whatever is left after the Steam’s cut. It took me months to spend part of it. More a thank you payment than anything else.

Even with the perma-shop, there’s no way the VT2 shop is anywhere near as profitable at DT’s. They’ve released one set of paid cosmetics for VT2 in 2024, for the skaven in versus. The previous set of 5 skins (+5 helms) that dropped was December of 2023. And the 5/5 set before that was in March of 2023. And each of those body/helm skins are only usable on 1 out of 5 classes for each character. Just no way they’re selling tons of those.
