Shop rotation should go

I think that the shop rotation does more bad than good for Fatshark.

For example there is a certain Zealot cosmetic that I like which isn’t available right now. With the shop rotation it migh take another 2 months before it reappears. Maybe by then I will have a break from Darktide and miss it again. (You know, even the faithful need some rest from slaying heretics from time to time.)

It wouldn’t be surprising if the “FOMO effects” were outweighed by missed purchases due to lack of all-time availability of the cosmetics.

They will take your money with FOMO and then they will take your loadouts, they are evil incarnate. Prayer is all you can do. Pray that they get what they deserve.

That is hyperbole.

Yes, Fatshark uses predatory mercantile tactics. But they are a MUCH lesser evil than Microsoft, Facebook, Twitter, Apple, Google, Amazon, Walmart and Monsanto. And they are nothing compared to oil and gas companies.

They are the exact same, they just didn’t get to be the mega corporations first.

Yes, the shop rotation should go and Brunts retuned and set so that the minimum item rating rises along with your level to 360 or so. The shop pre-bricks anything that’s a blue with low tier blessings and perks.

Agreed. Funny thing is that we know everything will eventually be rotated back into the shop at some point. So if you miss something that you wanted, FatShark and it’s affiliated business entities are the ones who are stuck waiting to receive payments they otherwise would have gotten immediately if you had the choice to buy what you want now. FOMO is only truly effective when it comes to permanent exclusivity which is yet another vomit inducing practice in my opinion.

The only gain they might end up seeing with the current FOMO approach is that players might buy more than one cosmetic in the event that something better than what they already bought releases down the line, but they’d still achieve the same effect by slowly drip feeding more options into the store with a complete catalogue of everything that previously released anyway.

Pair that with additional character slots (not loadout), and equipment cross-trade between the same class of character on a player’s profile and they’re set to make bank. That’d give players more creative options and incentive to buy more cosmetics instead of leaning so hard on on their current half measure implementation of preying on FOMO.

Imo an Exec probably didn’t think this through that much and just went with what was easy.

the rotation should be weekly and not every 2 weeks, then we will all have more opportunity to have the cosmetic we want and above all they should take out that they are skin randoms recently 2 skins that had already been in the store recently reappeared with the rotation.
Also I don’t know how much “FOMO” you can have something that you know is coming back lol

Let’s be honest here there are plenty of dirty psychological tricks abused in the game, to make you come back to it and spend time and money. FOMO and in-game currency in the shop. Crafting also heavily leans on RNG, and give you illusion of control straight out of gambling. Despite the promise to stop that.

Where getting the dopamine high is part of gaming experience, and the reason why you enjoy gaming, everything else here is unhealthy and predatory.

FOMO should be removed and cosmetics should have price displayed in a real currancy as it is in Vermintide 2.

Please remove the timer, put all the cosmetics in the shop and i’ll buy everything I need at once instead of waiting 2 weeks to see the same cosmetics I already have being rotated back.

It’s so frustrating…

Of course it should. Vermintide 2 had a perfect cosmetics shop. Copy that one.

the entire ducking shop rotation system needs to go in every aspect of the game
