Lol why would they give you an attachment system when they can make 10 more lazy weapon variants and claim it’s new content.
Man this looks really sweet. This is a mod? Is it visual only? I guess so!
Some guy posted it in the Steam discussions. Its a mod of some kind, but all of these items were available, such as the flashlights.
Weapon variants have different core mechanics. These attachments are mostly cosmetic, or would affect different aspects of the weapon such as stab damage, ammo and lighting.
Please tell me you have a link, I can’t seem to find it.
In 3rd person view (mod “Perspective”), a flashlight is not a simple cosmetic…
Flashlights work in game. Other people cannot see it. But if you have some type of special on the weapon this will override it.
So much yes to this. This is what we need FATSHARK!!!
I know, that’s why I said:
Again, Asuka, I find myself agreeing with you here. If there’s anything the class and skill overhaul reveals, it’s that just about all of this game as it currently exists could be placeholder content, and I think the low playercount and constant acrimony about how much the crafting system sucks should give the dev team the leverage they need to convince their leaders or publishers that it’s still possible to salvage this game and its crafting system.

Under barrel axe? That sounds like just the right amount of camp, yes please.
I got the idea from the helbores having an overhead swing with their special melee.
Not necessarily campy. Pistols and rifles with axe bayonets became fairly popular among hussars and other cavalrymen in Central Europe around the seventeenth century. As the riders were in an elevated position compared to the infantry they usually rode down, the axe heads of their weapons swung down with maximum lethality.
Same principle could apply to the Ogryn, who just towers over most mobs.
Just reminded me of that - “Wasn’t designed to be like COD”.
Like somehow weapon attachments was a unique feature to COD only. Might as well say “Not like other first person shooters, it has less” Well at least it has weapon skins, which is like COD , can pay for weapon skins too, which again is also like COD.
Googled it, I see what you’re talking about now. I was picturing more of a double-headed axe sticking out sideways for some reason. ![]()
Well that toxic CLOWN is gone now. And good riddance to his fragile a**. Seriously, he perma banned me on the steam forums for calling him out after he trash talked me.
But anyway, PAYDAY, which is a 4 player PvE coop shooter, has customizable weapons as well.
The video showing weapon customization in Darktide would fit in perfectly without disrupting the current weapon system. Weapon stats would remain the same, and adding different magazine sizes could simply increase the Ammo stat by a % while simultaneously reducing Mobility and/or Stability Stat by the same %.
Whoa whoa whoa there pal!
Are you suggesting a mechanic which increases player control, while also requiring an adjustment to the current state of the gear progression AND crafting in DT?! But…
Ok ok, sarcasm aside - yeah! That would’ve been a great way to engage players with the gear in the game. Unlocking different attachments as you progress a class would go nicely with that. It would provide both a sense of achievement and a sense of personalization.
Alas, it wasn’t meant to be. We get up to three preset variants with sometimes comically random attributes (I love my kanti with 1% damage) and you better like that, or else you don’t understand the design intent!!

Wait who is gone? Hedge no more CM?
That’s a pity. You might have had some beef with this guy, but his commentary wasn’t all that bad. It had some wit.
He left?? Didn’t see any announcement.
