Its honestly appalling that so many ppl on discord and sometimes here completely disregard this issue. Companies in our everyday lives used shitty practices too guess why consumer protection exist at least here in the EU. Gaming has been a fu###ng wild west since reached mainstream and went fully balls to the walls, finally some countries realized that okay this is getting out of hand bad. Bless u Norwegians for pushing legislations further.
There is an acceptable lvl of support in MTX if ppl REALLY want to support the devs but for that they should give the option to their customers to pay the EXACT amount for what they want and do so in 1 single purchase. Not by buying a much higher pack of fake monopoly money leaving u with leftover or doing 2 separate transaction that cost more then what u think in certain countries due to s#it currency and taxes ect. We knew a cosmetic store will be in place nobody is shocked by it. On the other hand we expected something similar to VT2 where u buy what u want. I was very much expecting/hoping for a Krieg outfit in the store and planned to put down money for it cuz i love Krieg lore. Im not so sure i will anymore though since i dont support this type of greedy s#it that overcharge me for what i want and leave me with leftover mocking to buy more. I love to overpay 8 euro to the actually thing i want so that 8 euro never ever gets used in the end or until i find something else. And guess what the next time i find something i will have leftover currency STILL since we can buy them in packs that does not match the pricing of items. Shocking how hard to comprehend this practice by some and how thats toxic.

Successful launches are measured in sales, so who knows - maybe this is a success? We know neither the target nor the actual numbers.

Itâs a success for the company, though the reviews arenât that good, so they might have not managed the mix between what was delivered and the grubby cash shop that well.

I wanted to give them a fair chance to give us their narrative why are these design choices regarding the shop made it in the game. Imo if u wanna be greedy just own it. The customers who already pay for these cosmetics will buy them regardless u being hush hush about it or owning that u just do it to exploit ppl it would makes no difference. If a company just be transparent that yea this is why we do it like this i honestly would just shut up and go okay then.
Money is a big motivator in the current day and age plus with how development and live services work but just be upfront about it imo and i wont have a single bad word. Its their choice if they wanna nickle and dime customers but at least own it if u do instead of being scummy.

They should just admit the whole thing instead of keeping the radio silence, we already know the whole scheme of the store if they wanted to make a store where you buy directly or just the exact amount of currency that would be the one to be live right now
Oh they been answering everything else literally which is why i was like f##k it il give it a try and see if they completely ignore it. Yes they did ofc. As for the hate about the rest of the discord ppl i just couldnt care less. Not terrified from some internet ppl trying to defend predatory practices or just simply being ignorant about it. I think (albeit maybe a little bit passive aggressive i admit that) i gave them a fair opportunity to answer some things thats a major discussion between the players now. Their choice was complete silence so that to me signals that yes its the standard business practice as usual.
Id like to note though that i dont have any ill will towards the CMâs on discord for not answering this. It is more then likely due to NDA and higher order that they are forced to ignore questions like this so its not Aqshyâs fault for ignoring the question.
Sadly way too many people that are only focused on themselves and consuming product to light some fire for a moment in boring life what to avoid Buyer Remorse. Itâs with everything, graphic cards, movies, games, whatever. People prefer to deny any criticism and react with âbut I have fun. I donât care. I have fun. I donât care, for me Itâs goodâ becasue otherwise they would have to accept the fact that they didnât think through everything, that pink glasses have to go off and that itâs not that cool as they thought, which would lead to feeling of wasted time, money or being ashemed of being wrong and most people canât admit they are wrong as itâs nowadays harder than pulling nails.
So most people prefer to literally close their years and eyes and go ânanananana! I am not listening!â than try to do something bit harder and make sure itâs good not only for them but also for all other customers/community members. They donât understand that criticism is a way to improve something they like to be even better in long run. But who cares about long run, right? McDrive and eat in car.
