I don’t think it solves solo mode complains. It only trivializes the difficulty.
I’ve enjoyed it so far.
Has the game been everything they promised and we hoped for?
No. They (FS) promised alot before release and the game isn’t even close to that hype. The burn was so bad FS hides more than talks to the community.
Is DT a good game?
Yes. I still enjoy DT very much and I support the game financially how I can because despite falling short, FS is still at the head of the pack for Warhammer tactical combat. If they take what they developed here and incorporate it into a more developed RPG it woujld be epic. I might not like how they did us at the start but the core game has always been solid IMO. Enough to keep me with it for a couple years and more. I have very little to complain about.
s’ok I guess.
I’ve played mainly Zealot, Dog-less Arbities feels like Zealot, but with a shield and rewards perfect guarding. I am very much enjoying this, now my new 2nd favorite class. Sure I still have my gripes with other aspects of the game, but for now I’m having fun. I would not be surprised if this class gets nerfed after a month.
How’s your perfect guarding game going?
Have you tried minmaxing for maximum stagger? (It’s kind of insane especially with guaranteed stagger on melee weakspot hit…)
if you’re referring to the talent i’m thinking you’re referring to, it’s not a garunteed stagger, it just means the enemy is treated as staggered for all your on-stagger effects
however yes the arbites is a fiend for crowd control lol
I’m having fun, but it’s stupidly OP. Just reading the talent tree nodes will make that clear. Actually playing with them is just a power trip.
I haven’t even done a “best build” or anything, just going through different nodes to do the penances and it’s super strong already. I can jump into any situation and don’t have to worry about anything.
Granted, I’m lvl 24 now and almost done with Heresy, so maybe Damnation/Auric is going to push back more.
I’ve run it through Maelstrom few times. Yeah when you got a full Arbites team, enemy trappers and pox hounds are negated.
- With dog eletrocute, send into middle crusher and stun 5 secs
- Remote detonation gives you more stuns if required
- Then blessing +25% damage electrocuted enemies, skullcrusher on Agni Maul.
- Grab some left keystones with rending node and speed boost
It can solo crusher patrol by stun, stagger. At that point feels like zealot speed with impact of Ogryn.
So i finally played it on auric mission, but no malestorm, because it was apparently removed.
In short, the class is great, dog is good, in general i think that it is ogryn 2.0, not sure if it is as strong as ogryn, i think it is not as tanky, but still pretty tough. It is not pay to win, still need game knowledge to excel playing as this class. I’d say it second or 3rd best class,
A lot of good talents, some talents fit more specific build or weapons, there’s some i don’t see much use for, like some rending talents, dog talent that gives enemies bleed, if they hit during pounce but not the target.
All greandes(blitz) options are actually good
- Discharge, demands to keep eye on your dog, make sure it is in position where you want do discharge, best way is to make it pounce on human sized elite or special. Very good against bosses, staggers them, deal some damage, it saved me once from burgle when i was eaten. Was moving forward, dog killed some enemies behind, then i hear poxburster, see him trough wall thanks to my keystone, see that it is close to dog, discharge, no more poxburter. Also useful vs hordes, if dog is there and biggest upside is that it recharges on it’s own, no need to pick grenades.
- Shock mine, with no lone wolf, very limited in use because there’s only 2 and no regen, but with lone wolf or when you use it without it, actual effect are great, pocket smite, good for doing objectives, controlling big horde and boosting your own damage against enemies. Very nice, i liked using it.
- Impact greande, it’s ok, good against everything, mix of krak and frag, goes hard with lone wolf thanks to regen and whooping 5 of them, it’s more than any other class can have.
Ultimates:
- Castigator stance: besically invulrnability for 10 sec with CD of one minute, dog talent is kinda bad for this one, due to long CD, but other two subtalents mandatory, together they give more melee and ranged damage. It is still possible to lose toughness and even health with this ability, prbably even die, but for that player would need to take several sniper shots, bursters and crusher/mauler overheads. Pop it at the right time and yeah, nothing can except trapper can beat you. Best works with left and middle keystone, very nice with dog, becuse it gives ability to freely send out dog on high priority enemies and use it’s blitz while ignoring incoming damage.
- Nuncio aquila, very good, kinda like a zealot’s book, but immobile and less potent, still at least during it’s duration unlike zealot, arbites can do what they want. From testers, heard that right subnode is broken and don’t slow down enemies, but i didn’t myself, i took left one and i have no talent points to spare to take right one. Very good with any build, but considering it’s benefits, middle keystone is best for this one, because why not buff ranged combat even more.
- Break the line: very good, good bonuses, short CD, better for dog, if you take it’s subnode, if player would spam on CD this ultimate, dog would have almost permanent +50% damage. Engage is kinda so-so ability can be helpful, but at the same time, with such distance, if you push into horde, then you really get inside of it, with enemies on all sides, after some testing for now i opted out of it. Obvisoly best with right keystone, but works with left one too, if you feel like 150% damage to dog is not enough. Very good with lone wolf.
Dog keystones:
- Attack elites/specials, i guess it is nice, but honestly, i can either tag them or kill them all myself . Didn’t use this one, not sure that ever will.
- Attack ranged enemies, worthless against heavy gunners for reason above, buuut love it for dealing with regular trash shooters, who less visible and untagabble.
- Lone wolf, it is great, i don’t know what else to say about, if you don’t use dog blitz or dog in general, then it is best option to take, but you can also not take any of these keystone and save point for something else.
Keystones:
- Left one, execution order is disrupt destiny on steroids, it may not give as high bonuses as destiny on 25 stacks, in general it’s bonuses, bonuses of it’s sub keystones are great, one basically gives nearly permanent 30% boss damage. Highliting works on all elite and special enemies, bosses and biggest part, multiple of them so it is easy to keep it activated. It is also dog keystone, that gives it 150% damage, with this buff, dog kills lesser enemies, including elites and speacials extremely fast or instantly.
- Terminus warrant, i watched and read mixed opinions about it. It is omewhat similar to veterans WP, but in the end i would say it WP but mosly for ranged combat, it is extremely easy to have 30 stacks from melee attacks, which in turn boost ranged damage, but i could barely have 30 stacks from ranged attacks, at least with arbites shotguns, didn’t use it yet with auto guns. Overall, good, best use with castigator or nuncio aquila. Can’t say whether or not it is better than weapon specialist, need more time and testing, but it is diffirent in that it doesn’t force to a narrow playstile of switching ranged and melee in order capitalize effects, stacks stay forever and can be used whenever.
- Forceful, it is good, nothing else to say, good buffs, some good sub keystones, good talent leading to it, but that can be said about all keystones, almost entirely melee focused keystone that works great with Break the line.
I like the dog because of the feeling of a loyal friend nearby, but it is too slow, it moves slowly, it slowly searches for a route, it slowly chooses targets on its own, even before jumping it pauses for a second at the risk of missing. The dog needs to optimize intelligence and reduce the delay before jumping. Besides, it annoys me that it’s always behind me.
It’s funny that Owlcat Games is releasing a DLC on 06/24 on the same topic. Are they developing them together?)
There was this cross-promotion: Warhammer 40,000: Darktide - The Void Meets The Hive – Darktide X Rogue Trader Crossover Event - Steam News
And the typical legal arrangements for licensing IPs to game studios would give GW ownership of concept art – they might have pooled resources between the two studios.
Maybe GW are going to push arbites this year? They could start by releasing audiobooks of the Shira Calpurnia books.
Piecing together anything more is an exercise in Kremlinology.
its worth 12… irl currency
I just watched as my dog couldn’t catch up with a running trapper.
??
with castigator stance and the available toughness regenation talents in the tree, its confident strike on steroids.
never in my 1500 hours of ogryn could i self sustain pushing forward that aggressively and basically use elites as “all you can eat” recharge buffet.
i mean its mad fun pushing for faster time and not in the stealth zealot avoid any fights way, but actually killing the whole room but fast.
ogryn will stay my main character for sure, but until novelty wears off i’m having a ball leading the frantic charge and still be 100% health at the end ![]()
Plate-face has the heart of a ogryn!
well at least now “confident strike” isnt op anymore in comparison ![]()
arbites has toughness regen when he takes a dump
He also has confident strike for some reason
which at this point doesnt even matter.
isnt there somewhere an “heart attack grill” that prides itself with the most calory ridden, fat oozing burgers with a wodden stick in the middle to keep it from falling apart?
having extra sauce at that point would be the equivalent to confident strike on the arbites shield ![]()
Arbites is a very fun class, Shield stun and shock damage , nothing but stagger. pay to win the games ez pz with Arbites.
Oh and finally someone watching your back..
