So, how do people feel about the arbites class?

Are we whales for buying it? Do all of the usual publicly aired grievances apply?

Plot twist: FOMO Classes.

I wait for 19, when havoc blogers release their vids, because what i saw yesterday, was not good.

It’s weird we have so few info at this point. They either don’t know how to hype up stuff or they are afraid that the community is so toxic it will kill arbites before arrival.

Well, watching the playtest just recently it doesn’t look worth it as far as I’ve seen, especially for your hard-earned money. If they show a more in-depth showcase of everything, I’m more inclined to buy it if it’s impressive, so far, that doesn’t seem to be the case or at least it doesn’t strike me as so. We’ll have to wait right… only time will tell.

Gameplay has been shown, but it doesn’t really tell us much, so we still don’t know much about the Arbites. We’ll have to wait for the full skill tree to be revealed. Streamers and content creators will probably show early access on Twitch before the update, so we can’t really judge it until then.

People said that the Ogryn rework was a net-nerf before it came out and here we are. I’m gonna wait until the patch comes out then stick myself in a Havoc 40 Psykhanium for the day. Only way to be sure.

I’ll buy the Arbiter class because I’ve gotten a lot of value out of Darktide, and I can buy it straight outta the Steam store for my hard-earned money.
I’d support Fatshark in other ways too but I refuse to buy anything with their monopoly money fomo store.

Honestly having devs showcase gameplay of the class was not the best decision
Darktide really isn’t at its best when being played by what looks like geriatric old men on one of the lower difficulties

If they got people who eat havoc 40 for breakfast showcase it would have been actually interesting to watch. Like seriously an auric damnation would have been a showcase that would have at least entertaining to watch and not the absolute snorefest they gave us.

i will buy it.

There is a pcgamer article which tells us the skills, you can also see some of them in the gameplay vid.

You have the shotgun, the shotpistol and shield, the shock maul (not sure of name) and shield and the other shockmaul-thing with 1 and 2 handed attacks.

2xPing for doggo attack, nuncio vox to buf resistance and movement iirc, electro nade, mine, make doggo explode (without hurting it), Charge in and stun with shield.
I also think the article said that the bolter would be available.

Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aq_vdjOlpSY&t=311s
0:10 Red light on the inside of the shield going up
0:18 turning green at half charge, shield starts sparkling with electricity.
0:45 almost full green, passive charge

2:02 melee weapon without a shield, held in 1 hand but not used (same as 7:36)
2:13 hitting an enemy 1 handed

2:30 pistol and shield

2:44 Flashlight on the shield? No light-cone tho’.

2:55 team mate throws something (mine?)

6:44 shield is at full green.
6:45 some kind of explosion
6:46 charge in
*6:46 overhead swing from no shield melee weapons
6:50 shield is still at full green, might not sparkle any more?

7:01 Big push in stairs (From rotbag?)

7:04 shining in stairs after video cut

7:11 Electric shield strike?
7:13 shield is still at full green

7:18 enemies (still) electrified in stairs, throws 'nade, might end after that at 7:23, but seems to still go after.

7:25 observe dog on the right
7:27 Dog seems to trigger electric explosion-thing
7:27 Team mate with 1 handed melee or maybe having held something, maybe to activate dog, or having thrown electro-nade?

7:30 not sure what the team mate is doing? (there are two, but the one on the right)

7:36 two-handed swing with non shield melee weapon.

I’ll get it, I would like the shotguns to still get love because it doesn’t look that different from what we have now. I like the idea of shotguns being brutal when close. Will have to test tho’.
I like the shield on another character too and hope there will be more variants coming.

Imagine showcasing it by giving acces to Choco B and letting him play it.

I’m not impressed. There’s nothing in the gameplay showcase that makes me eager to play it. The reason I will probably still get it is just to mix up the game.

for us, here? absolutely.
average joe though would have an aneurysm unable to follow the speed, overloading his synapses

should the offer a second, havoc version, with high reflex players? yep, as i’m not yet convinced the class to be a proper new tool.

90% of the shown gameplay could be replicated by using shout vet with a white combat shotgun and shock maul on low intensity Malice.

I think it’s just the people behind the gameplay not playing or showcasing the class well.

The whole gameplay vid is this weird float-y roleplay with barely any enemies.

It’s impossible to know how good or fun the class is until you put it against all the standard mutant/elite/special spam situations.

Shield maul moveset looks good, shotgun seems to have head prio, it will all come down to their dmg. Most likely need a complete shotgun rehaul / general buff to be good.

The dog looks pretty useless other than being a counterdog when doggod, don’t think it’s gonna do much on havoc density, hope the disable bonuses are worth it.

I’m curious on experimenting. What happens if I give up the dog, give up the shield and go for all out single target anti-armour build.

If it exceeds Zealot, going to add more uneven balance to the game already is.

If not, a temporary fun distraction before going back to usual class and builds.

Mentioning this again. I bet they haven’t thought about how dog will auto-attack pox bursters, going to be hilarious when 4 dog teams get blown all over the place. As it “will mostly act on it’s own”

i think @Lactamid likes it im not sure tho

I’m just very glad there’s a specific talent to disable the doggy. Not that I don’t like it, but during the gameplay trailer I found the doggy extremely distracting.
It’ll take some getting used to.
