I have no clue what you are on about. Cut Hand-Cannon in half and base Pen down to 10%. That’s it.
Yes, but playing in first person you can snapshot much faster/easier. It’s an entirely different experience.

As I said, old value before patch 12 (40% before patch 12)
Barely noticeable
Was not here (I never liked VT2). I would say interesting… but can’t figure how deeper they have been in this rework.
When I see that they can’t correct a simple value in a damage chart (damages on maniac with combat axe) for several months, I have difficulties to believe that they will entirely rework a gun to make it entirely different.
Not sure I would appreciate… pretty sure I would go to an other game if everything was changed drastically.
So? Is this ground for no change or something?
As i said:
I respect your opinion, that’s not mine.
I think the revolver is fine. However, if the damages are too strong, they can be adjusted. That’s why nerf happen, and I have no difficulty with that. Fatshark has the metrics to decide if a nerf is needed.
But, for me, a zealot need an other ranged option to deal with crusher and not just the bolter. I think that the revolver has to kill crushers, but not as fast as a bolter (actual situation).
Now, from the posts of others, I guess that, like for the Boltgun, there is an other problem than just surgical… and it is linked to the vet. Reload seems a little too fast. And I was impressed by the one shot crusher… I am not sure this should happen…
Fatshark have completely changed blessings before too, so your stance of “they won’t do it because they have never done it” as an argument or reason doesn’t work either.
Not reversed them totally
Speedload is yet a blessing that permits to reload faster… etc.
Only example I would agree is fire frenzy that they had drastically changed… but they reverted the changes.
I don’t say you may wrong… I just tell my vision.
And also, that I don’t share the idea of a weakness toward carapace for the revolver.
because youlook at these things as a player, and not a dev, there are tons of reasons that could delay rather mundane fixes.
first of its not a priority on the stack as it doesn’t turn away players or causes huge problems, so it could have been asigned to someone who is inexperienced, or happend to shedule his vacation and and got confirmation due to his asignments not being a high priority so its stuck in limbo
maybe it got passed on between departments becuase the reason of the bug has been determined to be of different origin and it had to go through asignment again multiple times..
maybe a department put in a part of a bundle patch, that got delayed because something else broke and now is on hold because, to unpack lower priorty fixes and send them to a different department working on a sooner patch, isn’t efficient
tons of reason can delay rather simple fixes due to logistics
TBF one of those was largely just importing a popular weapon balance mod (without even consulting much with the modders first from memory) so…
well his argument was that they wouldn’t introduce drastic changes, not that they themself are incabable of invisioning it…
anyway i have an entirely different mind towards balance, i don’t want a them to try to reach equilibrium, but much rather prefered if they cycle a set of weapon in and out of meta to keep the gameplay fresh
This would be ok if the crafting system didn’t suck so bad. I can probably squeak by, but my friends who occasionally play with me won’t be able to keep up with the crafting costs.
obviously, but i won’t limit my horizon just because currently things work badly for a vision
True.
And I repeat that you could be right… but I don’t believe in it.
You know that I think that I can live with the current crafting system… however, I would hate that they transform radically my weapons and blessings…
It would be like, at least for me,: “hey you had a Magnum 357 or somewhat, now I you will have to rely on a water pistol. Happy?”
ofc im not suggesting weapons should be incapable or removed from their nieche
just keep the “weapon of the month” ever changing so to speak,
With the current crafting system in place?
again no,not with this trash system
but i won’t modell my ideal version after this messed up nonsense.
how are you supposed to come up with great ideas if you always have to justify them with these horrible systems in the way?
It’s exactly this reason I’m a bit anxious about all these unfounded nerf and buff demands, often coming from people who - in my humble view - have no business making those claims. Often people lack understanding, experience or don’t approach these topics with a cool head. Instead have drawn personal ire from something that irks them.
Examples here are many, including people wanting weapons changed because they don’t represent the lore / tabletop perfectly (see Bolter / Revolver / Plasma Gun discussions) or people wanting entire playstyles changed because a few pull off solo shenanigans with it (hello invisibility enthusiasts).
Now, Fatshark is absolutely brazen when it comes to throwing ideas out and redoing everything from scratch. The madlads over in Sweden have multiple times in many of their games completely overhauled systems or done them anew from scratch. Often with reckless abandon, or so it feels from my end as a player.
They did it in VT1.
They did it in VT2 multiple times.
And they already did it once with talents and once with weapons in Darktide.
Not to forget, they themselves cited this as reason we don’t have weapon customization (despite an absolutely impressive amount of work on it done proven by the extended customization mod!).
They didn’t like how it turned out and threw it out mid development, months before release, risking the game release not having crafting in at launch. Absolutely crazy.
These guys Fatshark go full ham yeet mode all day.
These devs definitely are under some spell of perfectionism.
And while such brazen will is commendable, it can also lead to many fun and unique ideas left on the tracks. Perfectionists usually don’t end up with something perfect at all, which is precisely the Slaneeshian curse of perfectionism.
The worst part about all of this is the community never being fully satisfied either way, so Fatshark keeps spinning in a loop where they redo everything over and over to exhaustion, completely changing metas and gameplay features.
I feel they are listening too much to us where they shouldn’t (their gameplay vision), but pay less heed to our input when it actually comes things dealing with customer satisfaction such as monetization.
Zealot with a revolver can outdo Plasma/helbore/lasgun vet on special kills.
What a load of horseshit, if they do it’s because they’re mowing down most of their kills in melee and that has nothing to do with the Revolver outperforming a Plasma Gun Vet
And if they really do outperform you using exclusively ranged for some forsaken reason, then the problem is located between your chair and your keyboard
Holy crap the takes in this thread are actually terrifying
And if they really do outperform you using exclusively ranged for some forsaken reason, then the problem is located between your chair and your keyboard
I’ve been on both sides of this actually.
Running plasma even if the target acquisition happens at the same time the revolver can snapshot faster. Happened to me numerous times when I started shooting at the same time (or even a bit earlier) as Revolver Zealot and my shot hit the corpse due to the firing delay.
From the perspective of running Zealot, I’m very much used to hybrid playstyle, and with Zealot killing chaff is second nature. Being closer to action with a weapon possessing near-instant swap and ADS allowed me to outdo even very good Plasma/Helbore players on special kills while being in a brawl. This includes sniping certain types of elites too.
Quick sniping is further helped by Revolver having some kind of headshot assist built in. There is no other weapon that I can headshot with as easily as Revolver.
I’ll be honest, every time FS do a balance pass a monkey’s paw curls somewhere.
I remember the initial flamer nerf no one was happy because they hit ammo first which sucked for the people who used it but everyone else threw a fit because they realized that to compensate flamer gamers would just pick more ammo up.
All I’m saying is be careful what you wish for, knocking it down against carapace could easily translate into them doing other things.
