I’m happy iornhelm had its moveset improved. The new moveset is honestly great.
That said, can the activated thunderhammer do more damage than the new shovels, please?
Ty!

Also, yeah, uh plasma needs more damage.
With right setup, you can 1 tap all man sized elites except maulers.
You can 1 tap all specialists except mutants.
Maybe the charged attack could deal a bit more dmg, but the quick shot dmg is in a pretty much perfect spot right now.
Good point. The charge attack definitely needs love.
Honestly I would just say it needs either more ammo or needs Survivalist to not underdeliver due to the clip size.
When i use it, i shoot at pretty much everything that can be tagged (but nothing else).
Never have ammo issues with it.
Not sure how it goes without survivalist though.
Might be a bit tight without.
Then again, if the gun got more max ammo, it might be too strong.
Imo, the plasmagun is pretty much in a perfect place right now. Aside from potentially increasing the charged shot damage to make it more worthy of being used.
Yeah, that’s a beef. If it was more ammo efficient there’d be less need for other buffs.
The plasma is fine as-is. I would much rather them rework the alt fire to be a proper aim that changes the primary fire button to hold to charge while aiming, this way you can make more accurate shots. All the plasma actually needs to reliably one-shot things is the ability to consistently hit weakspots.
Plasma gun is one of the strongest weapons in the game, it doesn’t need any buff.
The thunder hammer needs more than just a damage buff, though it really SHOULD be able to reliably one-shot crushers on a weak spot hit (for the mkII). The bigger issue is how vulnerable you are after the attack, something the shovels don’t suffer from. It needs a rework.
I’d rather an ammo buff for most of the bigger ranged weapons like the Flamer and stuff like that. Without a Survivalist Vet on the team the ammo for those weapons tends to become way too rare, especially on Damnation.
How? The self stun is completely negligible these days. I don’t think I’ve been hit because of it once since patch 13.
Just give it better breakpoints and less thrust reliance and we’re good. Bonus points if they give it another competitive blessing.
That’s something I’ve never really gotten; why doesn’t ammo replenishment calculate based your entire ammo capacity instead of just reserve capacity. Plasma gets like 50% efficiency from ammo replenishment; second worst offenders are the stubbers or flamer, at around 80%?
If FS want to balance by ammo, a small, equal reduction in loaded/reserve (so you still get 1 full reload) could offset such a change. The vast majority of guns would not be dramatically buffed, since they’re already getting >90% efficiency
I’m definitely sympathetic to this view. The payoff needs to justify the cost, and the TH has a steep one. I’ll do a thrust powered heavy and do 1200 damage on a crusher with the ironhelm. Then I’ll pick up a random grey shovel and do more than that.
This is probably the tidiest solution. Readjust the thunderhammers ability to reach breakpoints. It handles trash (albeit slowly) and monsters pretty well right now. Crushers and maulers and reapers and ragers are all kind of in this grey zone with the hammer.
It’s still nearly 3 seconds of being unable to sprint, dodge, or slide. (Unless you’re using the ironhelm
I just had a run with the twins where everybody was dead. We won… eventually. But against 5 maulers chain starting their overhead, both twins, the horde, a dog, a flamer, and a grenadier if I touched the button to empower my hammer at all we would have died. I would have been immobile for nearly 3 seconds in a scenario where I would have needed dodge (namely an overhead) and simply be dead.
XV doesn’t much have that issue in that scenario given at worse you can cancel your oneshot saw and at best you can slide while performing it. Also coincidentally having enough stagger to interrupt overheading maulers.
You’re not suck there for 3 seconds watching an attack rev up that you can’t possibly avoid…
Unless you’re using and abusing the animation cancelling trick, which I do.
the thunder hammer should reward damage stacking with oneshots. it’s struggling to do that.
What??? 3 seconds? How? Are you talking about from the start of the activation animation? Cause that is a disingenuous way to frame it if so. You absolutely are not stunned for anywhere near 3 seconds after the empowered hit lands. And you can indeed dodge and block etc between activating and actually swinging. So I am super not following what you’re on about here.
Thunder hammer is a joke, its ultimate melee weapon in WH40K , in game is just a joke. Damage is pathetic. Knive is better lol
Only slightly. If you want a serious answer I’m counting slightly before the full length from swing start to impact. Crucis behaves like every other weapon. You lose your ability to block the second that hitbox goes active. As it swings slowly, this takes a comparatively longer or shorter amount of time. So the numbers I espouse is from that moment.
If we don’t count the half swing and factor in only the point where you can no longer block then it’s 2.1ish seconds.
Feel free to measure the time yourself.
The only change they made was the time between swinging and being able to block/swing again.
It’s only a 0.5s lockout. (Realistically closer to .8 factoring in the point of no return in a swing).
The only time this changes is through a bug that exists that let’s you cancel your heavy 1 and light 1 into any movement immediately after the swing.
Maybe you’re unintentionally triggering this and that’s why you think the lockout for dodging and blocking are the same when they factually aren’t.
But there’s no wordplay, misdirection, or grossly overexaggerating here. Those numbers seem ludicrous to you because you’re able to internalize that 2 seconds of being unable to dodge is a lot of time. Which it is.
Upopular opinion, maybe but those shovels should not be able to one shot so many heavy enemies. Its just silly. I don’t know what Fatshark was thinking when designing those.
