So...about new havoc

What irks me the most about new havoc is that orange and purple are awful modifiers that belong in a MMO, not here.
I don’t even care about demotions anymore. Bring me down to level 1 for all I care, I just want want to be able to play the game.
If devs believe bringing mmo-like mechanics is crucial to their ranking system, well they are wrong, but then they should give us a new auric board with havoc spawns without the rest of the shi*

As of now you can choose between the basic game (a bit too easy after getting used to first havoc), crush your balls with a hammer, or play the new last stand, which is like havoc but for the heretics.

I suppose low level havoc could be the answer…
But my enjoyment of it is still hamperer by those godawful mutators

Did a 33 with a bunch of randoms and no comms. It’s definitely harder, but this should still be relatively simple with premades. We had somebody crash near the beginning of the final event and it was still relatively smooth.

I still think we should have gotten 10 new Havoc ranks.

On a related note, if getting True Survivor without a premade was a roll of the dice before, it’s a roulette wheel spin now.

I’d show the video, but the wonderful new Nvidia app turned off my instant replay after a driver update which I didn’t notice until I tried to use it.

On the previous map I’ve also had 5 bosses in one area. Twins, scab captain, Weakened BON and Chaos Spawn. This is absolutely ridicilous, and just artificial challenge.

Devs are insane with that kind of balancing, I wonder if they’re gonna push the difficulty even higher when the 1% gets tired of the current season.

I like the orange one actually. It’s the only “fun” modifier in the current Havoc.

It actually makes fighting hordes not boring, since they don’t die to everything instantly. The problem is when too many elites get the buff, and then it’s just annoying they barely get staggered. So unless you have a weapon that oneshots them, you’re screwed.

Btw, Scab Captain can spawn with a shield and a healing buff alongside other bosses. So basically you have to kite three bosses at the same time, while killing Scab Captain, because the other two are gonna get healed infinitely. It happened to me once, and with randos it’s basically an automatic loss.

How is this balanced in any way? It’s not. But some people will praise this kind of “design” xD

Havoc (at least 20-30 ranks) was fun for a couple of weeks past release because people at least tried. Seeing teamwork and actual understanding of builds with randoms was a breath of fresh air, but now it’s basically Auric 2.0 swarmed with the same dudebros who “only play the hardest difficulty” that go down during the first wave and ragequit afterwards.

This, combined with the cementing of the super stale and boring meta, and getting all the cosmetics from the penances, has made Havoc undesirable to play. I logged today, checked the party finder during Europe evening time, there were barely any Havoc games, all of which <30. What a waste of resources.

I’m generally supportive of the decisions devs make…

but de-ranking is just a terrible idea.

How about they merge the difficulty of Havoc where the director goes crazy and unfair, with the fun OP buffs from Mortis? Oh wait, that’s just Chaos Wastes from Vermintide, and it was really fun. Let’s… make it 2 modes instead I guess, and lock your whole team out of playing the hard one for losing?

Seriously, who is coming up with ideas at the Fatshark office? It’s not that hard… Seems like all they still care about is shiny cash shop cosmetics.

They fixed an enemy spawn bug in morris trials today. It’s only been out a couple days. Give them a little time to iron out the kinks. I had a mortis trial today where we killed over 3.5k enemies by the end. It was loads of fun. The most fun I’ve had in while actually.

who the hell at Fatshark came up with this policy? was it the game director? lead designer?
the current ridiculous balance adjustments are just as bad. honestly, I want them fired. nobody wanted this.

The Good

  • Well done on Mortis, but we need more difficulty options (allow us to make it harder, like much harder)
  • HAVOC will need some balancing/tweaking, but it is quite enjoyable.

The Bad

  • BIG problem is the demotion in HAVOC.
    Remove altogether this idea of demotion and decay, punishing people for trying or having a life. If someone has unlocked 25, allow them to create a game 1 to 25 (like a slider). Forever. That’s it. Easy. Everyone happy. Less sweat, less toxicity. If you don’t like the idea of infinite reroll on map modifiers, just limit the number of rerolls to like 1 per hour. But who cares really.

Make it more enjoyable for everyone. Just get rid of the Demotion, A.S.A.P. Please.
Allow people to retry over and over hard content.

  • And without demotion/decay, a “Havoc Quickplay” option then makes more sense at some point. There is too much friction right now to create/join a game and just play in HAVOC.
    Make it easy. Make it accessible.
  • Havoc Quick-Play Idea: Could be super simple, like you specify a range of games you wanna join (15-25), hit quickplay, and it auto-joins you on games 15-25. That’s it. Like any other game mode, people who want to make a premade will… make a premade anyways. So you’d either join or create a game at the level of your choice (up to your max level unlocked) for others to join.

Keep it simple.

I may sound crazy, but i see in current system more good sides that bad. I already know most peoples that constantly run havoc missions, and i want to browse and join groups with players i knew.

And i found some… Peace? In process of browse and choose party members.

Don’t you like when randoms enter public lobbies, wait for the match to start and then instantly leave forcing a derank for everyone else?

We had to lose a charge on 36 Havoc, because Ogryn didn’t want Psyker to play soulblaze build without telling us anything before the game started. I did two previous Havocs with them, and Psyker was the best player on the team.

Not crazy at all. My ‘Quickplay’ idea is perhaps a bit undercooked. The intent has some merits : get people together fast, and play. If we want more people to play Havoc, we need to reduce friction. To the maximum.

I think you could achieve what you describe (playing with the people you know) just by using the existing social (or other means, Discord, etc), without having to manually browse the list of Havoc games trying to find the people you know. I just feel we didn’t really need this different (and more tedious) queuing system, but I respect you feel otherwise.

To me any improvement on that front (Havoc Quick or at least Quicker play :wink: )would be the cherry on the cake.
The cake → Removing the Demotion/Deranking. That absolutely needs to go, it’s causing frustration in so many ways and dissuading people from playing Havoc.

Im not playing havoc at all whatsoever so I’ll just de rank oh well sucks to be us I guess. Atleast I’m havoc forged cuz thats about all we have going for us. Far more elusive currently than auric storm survivor, which I got by accident on xbox one day might I add. Definitely wasnt going to put myself through the torture of actually trying to get that penance. Got on vet one day beat a maelstrom and was like wtf at the end of the game when the penance popped up I genuinely thought I’d never get the penance and I hated it was so easy to cheese but now we have havoc forged and true survivor. Havoc was fun I guess but now its an absolute nightmare and tbh I really dont want to even remotely think about all the new mechanics while also trying to play with randoms. Makes my head hurt just thinking about it. Im just gonna go back to messing around with new stuff in hi shock missions. Ive heard grenadier gauntlet is nice and bully clubs pumping out some serious dps nowadays so i may have to put the pickaxe down for a bit.

pick the lower left node of the melee tree for cleave when picking the karsolas and the lower right for impact when running the krourk IV.

both go well with gg for carapace/unyielding debuffing.

oh, you’ll also enjoy the node that lets you sprint charging your heavy attacks :smile:

I have the impact node on all my builds and im not running cleave cuz i dont feel like you need anymore cleave and ehh im not a fan of the cleavers I have enjoyed the bully clubs though.
