How is it even possible that they’re getting worse at communicating? Here we are

Less than two weeks away and not even another emoji

I presume you’ve reserved the spot of “Penman of the Constitution” Gouverneur Morris‡ for yourself?

Famous for dying of an infection caused by sticking whale bone up his penis.

Considering how sassy he looks I thought you would be the perfect fit…

You do me too much credit. I think I would fit better as someone just out of shot.

If we don’t, do this one instead:

(It’s the Tennis Court Oath that was one of the foundational elements of the French Revolution).

Wouldn’t that imply that most of us are going to be executed over the next few years?

Well Bongo, for you you can choose between the Whale Bone or the Guillotine.

Could I possibly just get banned by one of those “power tripping unpaid discord mods” instead?

If I get in, I’ll make it my first task. I am 100% user-focused!

They literally do it for free. One could almost pity them, but their ego-driven behaviour thankfully saves us the trouble of something as unnecessary.

** We are still working on the itemization part of the update as mentioned in the Vision Statement. We are currently in testing and we are working on a dev blog to share with everyone.

Any updates on the Dev blog?

Brother, I say this without criticism or malice.

They’re not gonna tell us. They let us know our cosmetic slop is coming a day late but still can’t speak to the make-or-break updates that will determine Darktide’s future. We don’t know, they probably don’t know, and all we can do is wait for Fatshark’s overpaid no-men to finally get too day-drunk to stop these devblogs from going through.

its been 25 days and I don’t know any more than what was showed in this post. Nothing to keep me hyped.
many of my friends forgot this update even existed, I probably will too. Good luck friends.

It is interesting to think about how quickly the “great content patch” of June 25 will run out. It is guaranteed to bring a new map, a couple of weapons, and that’s it. Theories suggest a crafting system based on a new resource and, well, that’s it? Sure, a crafting system is cool, but you know, it’s “a bit” lacking after 2 years. Even considering new players—they mostly won’t care much about the crafting system, as it should complement the interesting gameplay experience and not be the main attraction. What I’m trying to say is, take a player—they are interested in gameplay, missions, and so on. The crafting system—well, it’s just there. If they improve it and make it more interesting, okay. A new map provides content for a week, and I remind you that for those who go on missions like AM, they may not see the new map for weeks. It’s just bad luck
Imagine this: they announce that they are working on integrating an equivalent of chaos wastelands, and it will take a month or so, so stay tuned. Now that would be interesting. And how about all the player ideas that are lying dormant? We have a weekly contract from Melka, so why not introduce a weekly competition among players on a similar basis? For example, the top 100 players who earn the most points would receive any reward, no matter what it is—points can be earned for completing missions, defeating bosses, killing enemies, and so on. Points could also be awarded for not falling during a mission, completing AM runs, regular missions, gold runs, etc. Depending on the difficulty, different amounts of points could be earned for each action. At the end of the week, the list of players would be displayed prominently in the hub, and the top 10 separately so that it’s noticeable. Well, isn’t this a great motivator to play the game and have your name displayed in the hub for a week?

It seems like I got carried away again. I need to calm down and wait for the GREAT UPDATE on June 25… Sending hugs to everyone!

Hugs are for traitors and Heretics, I’ll give you a fist bump.

And yes, I completely agree. Its something I was thinking too. This update is much like the one we had last year. A map and a couple of weapons. Its not going to do anything to maintain a long term interest in playing again.

I asked my friend if he’ll come and play some Darktide with me when the update drops and he said no. So yeah, this isn’t good enough. To be frank, they should have a heck of a lot more to show by now, and the game should be leaps and bounds ahead of where it is now.

I think you’re on the right track with your ideas. Community competition of high scores and other little ingame things to keep people engaged. And stuff like Chaos Wastes from VT2 as you mentioned. Thats whats needed alongside what we’re getting.

As by now the update is dropping in less than a week - any idea when we can expect the dev blog?

Don’t they usually drop the Thursday prior to the update

Yes, although in the past we usually got more of an idea of what would be in the update. For a recent example, we got the tax gas dev blog the Thursday before the Penance update dropped, however the announcement for the update which came out roughly 2ish weeks before included pretty much all we needed to know about the update.

I guess if MotMG doesn’t have any crafting changes there would be no need to have a dev blog earlier, and is pretty much a confirmation of that. But as I’ve said before it would’ve been a lot nicer to know 2 weeks ago rather than still be guessing about it now.
