I suppose Enginseers ? I don’t really want to watch those video.
At least it could work, unlike Skitarii, as they’re a sub-class/types for Tech Priest (not in DH, but in Only War), and oft are used by the Inquisition.
Tech Priest in Only War range from starting out as Technographer, and ending out as Magos or Magos Errant.
Being able to gain different things on each advances, comprising of knowledges, trainings, but also augments.
With Magos being the more normal-Admech one, and the Errant themed around the Exploratory Fleet types.
Hadron said Material in a strange way…servitors? Also thought we couldn’t get reinforcements or other resources due to some Warp issue… no longer a problem?
My understanding is that travel from/to the Moeabian Domain is difficult or hazardous due to Warp Storms at the borders, but travel within the domain is relatively stable (Well, as stable as anything Warp related is.)
Sometimes Vox Chatter inside the Mourningstar will mention supply ships. And a Hive World pretty much requires a steady supply of offworld (and possibly out-system) foodstuff to feed the billions of inhabitants. (In general 40K lore have there been mentions of Hive Worlds with massive Hydroponics facilities or massive Hives just dedicated to farming?)
The Moeabian 53’rd come from Branx Magna, another piece of lore implying travel within the Moebian Domain is possible. And since it’s an Industrial World it most likely has some Admech facilities, which can be a possible source for Admech characters in addition to Atoma itself.
I believe that Skitarii are definitely above the average power level compared to the rest of the cast. However, as the post mentions, the idea of Skitarii is somewhat relative to the Adeptus Mechanicus. I personally think it would be amazing to play as a servitor, since there really isn’t any other game that explores that possibility.
For what it’s worth: In Wrath & Glory the Skitarius archetype is a Tier 2 one (like Sanctioned Psyker). So it wouldn’t necessarily be stronger than what we have right now. Then again the scope/balance between the archetypes is a bit wonky as the Rogue Trader archetype is Tier 2 as well (own a spaceship and employ a crew of thousands), as is Sister of Battle (Nun with guns). However I think Skitarii might be too close to Veterans.
When it comes to playable Servitor? For me that’s a no. Playing a mutilated cyborg lobotomite with no free will is not something I’d be interested in playing. If anything a Servitor fits more as a pet/summon for a Tech-Adept/Tech-Priest.
