My money is on “they’ve just started with the letter A for the codenames aaaand that’s it!”
Watch the next class be Sanctioned Psyker with different abilities instead of Tech Priest lol
Is it likely? Yes. Confirmed? Lets create expectations. Worked well last time.
Administratum adept here we come!!!
(Though battle-scribe would be a cooler name)
Give him the Fartshark Tome of grudges to smash heretics with.
Now I really hope that it will be a Ratling or something like that just to see how pissed off these silicium sniffers become.

Adeptus Mechanicus Confirmed? No. Not yet at least.
Admech Possible? Yes. It’s a heavily requested faction. Although I think/believe/hope it’ll be some sort of low rank Tech-Priest/-Adept rather than the Skitarii.
Mars-y Boys Likely? Maybe, leaning towards yes. After all, Mechanicus 2 is set to release Spring 2026 and Rogue Trader’s 3’rd DLC will also release sometime in the spring (And an Augmentics system is confirmed. The presence of Trazyn the Infinite [And more Necrons?] and the Augmentics makes me believe the new PC Origin and/or Class Archetype will be AdMech related). Dawn of War 4 will also have Adeptus Mechanicus as a playable faction. And Space Marine 2 will get a Techmarine class as well soon. All signs point to Games Workshop going for a Cross-promotion campaign.
My guess is a teaser in early or mid May, a reveal during Skulls 2026 and a relatively short wait for the release.
It was said by a random dude on the internet. It must be true.
(aka source: trust me bro)
If it’s not Admech again and there’s another wave of negative reviews it’ll be pretty funny. It’ll come complete with hindsight intellectuals confirming afterwards that they actually always knew Cryptic wasn’t a reference to Binharic and that the expectation came out of nowhere
PS: Just check what kind of lore videos the playtest involved Darktide youtubers will be making. Their NDA doesn’t stop them from doing “random” speculation.
True, but i dont think they know yet.
Didn’t think about confluence with other wh40k titles. Well thought!
Yeah, it’s definitely wrong to have expectations from Fatshark.
Btw, not watching Mr. E padded out video’s of no actual content at all.
I gotta admit that Scum launch tease and the whole situation was hilariously entertaining. Loved it so much ![]()

Taking lore and Dark Heresy 1e into account, Skitarii themselves are quite unlikely.
Skitarii are not frequently used on planet that the Imperium want to keep due to their wanton uses of Rad, Phophor and similar weapons which tend to have a bigger repercussion on the surrounding battle fields. Additionally, while Skitarii are autonomous:TM:, they do for the most part always remain assigned to a Tech Priest Dominus.
As for Dark Heresy (which has been a large inspiration, baring the Ogryn), going with the different Classes: Looking away from the Admech stuff
Base Classe
Sub Classes
Alternate Classes
Adept: On its own ill suited, same for most Advance careers
Magister: Not sure on how the lore of it is meant to work, but for example give access to some Psyker stuff (Up to rating 3) [Base]
Reliquary: Adepts entrusted with specific equipments (ranging from a Condemnor Bolter, Digital weapons and even to a Jokaero, not that this would work here) [Daemon Hunter]
Daemonine Seeker: Adepts seeking the names of Daemons, imo not really workable here. [Daemon Hunter]
Bonded Emissary: Not suitable here, emmissary of foreign powers (Inquisition, Admech, RT…) [Inquisitor’s Handbook]
Xeno-Arcanist: Adepts with Xenos and Cryptic knowledge, being at time able to use Xenotechnology [Inquisitor’s Handbook]
Legate Investigator: Not suitable here[Inquisitor’s Handbook]
Demagogue: Not really suitable other than for a support ability [Salvation demand Sacrifice]
Infil-Traitor: Not suitable, would have to have the character implanted in the Dreg/Scab factions [Salvation demand Sacrifice]
Saboteur: Chem uses, Demolitions… [Salvation demand Sacrifice]
Malefic Scholar: Adepts with some Warp powers and knowledge, but nothing point to Grendyl being a radical [Radical Handbook]
Sage: Just Adept+ [Ascension]
Sister of Battle: As base, kinda too strong, and not offering much other than Zealot with Power Armour [Inquisitor’s Handbook]
→ There could also be a way to make a Sister work on a different theme, by having it centre quite heavily around the Act of Faiths
Sister Hospitalier: Have Carapace armour only [Blood of Martyr]
Could see the Cryptic end up be about the older Agents embedded into the Hive (Cryptic: secret, occult; employing a Cipher); or even the Eldar (Cryptic: not recognised); rather than Admech (“Cryptic: employing a Cipher” being tenuous).
What are your thoughts on the Field Engineer ( i believe) E” mentioned in the video? Aka the admech mechanic.
