The last dlc companion we got with warhammer skulls for rouge trader lined up with what we got for darktide at the same time an arbities
since rouge trader is getting a tech priest for warhammer skulls and darktide’s next update lines up with warhammer skulls and we know they’re working on their 3rd dlc class…
Odds are heavily in favour of an Adeptus Mechanicus class, and hopefully of the Tech-Priest archetype. In Dark Heresy it was straight up Tech-Priest, in Only War we had Enginseer, and Wrath & Glory has Tech-Adept as a Tier 1 Archetype. Skitarii are nice, however too close to the Veteran I think.
Further reasons why I believe an AdMech class is next:
The reveal of the new Skitarii type, the Hastarii, and Arch-Magos Thulia Ghuld miniatures.
The Adeptus Mechanicus sourcebook for Imperium Maledictum.
The Techmarine in Space Marine 2.
The aforementioned Eogunn Februs in Rogue Trader’s 3’rd DLC. Also the Augmentation system.
Mechanicus 2 is set to release this spring.
Dawn of War 4 will have a playable AdMech faction at launch.
(The Datamine for Transonic Blades)
All signs point toward James of the Workshop going for a Cross-Promotion campaign.
You’re right! We need to manifest a gestalt psychic field and willpower scribe into reality, a great scribe waagh! The great horde of feeble bespectacled men of learning is nigh!
You can already create a Scribe Ogyrn, in fact, your can make an Ogyrn that attended the Schola (last I checked the Oggy background, haven’t done so in years).
The background we choose have no effect on actual gameplay (it’s only fluff); only the personality we choose does, and even then, take my Scum - despite being supposed to be from the torrent, he has zero spoken lines regarding that place or when Zola starts yapping.
Ogryn are incapable of becoming Scribes because they are dumb except for Cassia, who is the only Ogryn Psyker in the WH40k universe.
Becoming a Scribe is not easy.
You need to learn to record lots of data and develop a variety of technical skills, which an Ogryn cannot do.
The only known, named ogryn psyker. Who should’ve been executed to maintain the Imperial Cult’s vision that ogryns are dumb and especially can’t be psykers - but who knows how many others there are (or have been) about, or how intelligent ogryns actually are, but it’s all kept hidden from the masses?
Taking into account that Ogryn aren’t treated the same way they were in old lore (Basically children level intelligence), and that there are various kinds of Ogryn, among which there are some which are quite smarter than others (Thoruk).
And that there were in old lore already some rumours of smart Ogryns, named “Grey Ogryn” iirc…
I wouldn’t bet on Ogryn Scribe, but I would stand against “they are dumb except for Cassia”
Also Necromunda has artificial Ogryns too, which I’d count.
