Skitarii updates causes crash to desktop

Issue Type (Required):

Other

Issue Description (Required):

Since the update and content drop today, I now crash to desktop. Before the update, I was playing today without issue. The games loads as far as the queue, and when I get to the front where it would load into character selection, I get a crash to desktop with the following error:

I have deleted the shader cache, and even rebuilt the whole Darktide folder in the appdata/Fatshark directory, but without success. This crash happens every time. It only occurs with Darktide - no other game. I’m running a AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX

Wait in queue in loading screen.
Crash to desktop when should load into character selection

Yeah, same issue for me. Was fine last night playing, but after the update, constantly crashing with the same error. Drivers reset and updated but still crashing.

Would anybody be willing to experiment with rolling back to an older driver version, to see if this alleviates the issue?

We’ve had some players report this overnight (prior to the update) too, so something is amiss.

Right now, this appears to be isolated to AMD driver version 26.6.2, and any help in determining whether this is indeed restricted to one specific driver version would be much appreciated.

I was having the same issue with the exact same error

I took your advice, rolled back to 26.6.1 and its now working.

Thank you. This is really helpful, and I’ll let the team know

I have the same but only with mods enabled. Even if the mod loader is entirely empty it still crashes to desktop immediately.

Is the error exactly the same, @brosgw? DXGI_ERROR_DRIVER_INTERNAL_ERROR?

Ah no, sorry just the same symptom. Something about a nil value.

I’ve received a second confirmation that rolling back to AMD driver version 26.6.1 resolves the issue. This is our recommendation for now as we look in to the underlying issue with AMD.

As the OP, I can confirm that rolling back to 26.6.1 worked for me  Thanks Julia!
