yea… flamethrower bardin and sienna stats “look” good until you realize the vast majority of their kills is on slaves, which people could see if they looked at more than 2 stats… which will obviously be where they excel due to AoE… as opposed to stabbing them one at a time… bardin could mow down slaves in V1 with drakefire as well, and sienna often did similar with a few different staves.
It is interesting as to see how this forum was against the recent changes and still is. Some argueing even that people who want changes “hate the game”, while Fatshark obviously agrees more with us. Reddit on the other side seems to like these changes, as this post shows. Even the attitude towards Waystalker is the exact opposite. Credit to bpsbps.
The consequence is venting health. Which white health can be used for. Every career gets it.
Oh wait, just cannonballbardin again being the garbage he is. Has no facts to back anything and just preaches nonsense. Tries to justify everything while playing veteran in beta and never testing harder difficulties, particularly post-release.
Exactly.
I’m against a lot of the recent changes because they’re dumb… what they did to her kit makes literally 0 sense, and people bitch about her nonstop… if it’s not because she outdamaged them once or twice, it’s because her voice lines… or it’s because the false pretense that she’s going to run ahead even though I’ve seen literally every hero do that at least once, and going so far as to say they were going to make mods to ban anyone from playing her, and abuse vote kick on any elf. it’s not that i’m against changes completely, i’m against stupid changes that make no sense. And if those changes are due to the devs caving to a bunch of people whining for any reason they can think of just because they hate elves, then it becomes more likely they will continue to do so until 1/5th of the playable options may as well just be deleted.
Insulting once again, are we? Temporary health in this case allows to completely ignore the hp penalty for venting on permanent health. No other class has a similar mechanic. Given that Sienna can stand in the back and not get hit as much as other classes, while building a giant shield of temporary health by dealing huge amounts of damage, the hp penalty might as well not exist, giving her nearly endless
potential to spam.
To answer to your other accusation. i played around 20h of recruit/veteran and then another 50 of champion/legend. That should qualify me to be able to give feedback.
ever play sienna in V1? the right perks on a staff and she could blast until she nearly exploded, vent, and repeat, and the health cost basically didn’t exist because it was often offset by the healing. what she is doing now is almost the exact same as V1…
They didn’t changed her kit at all. Waystalker still focusses on ranged weapons and still get ammunition back, just less.
People complained about her voicelines, which has nothing to do with gameplay balance. I personally couldn’t care less about the elf just being an elf.
You are mistaking Fatshark with some random idiots on the internet. Fatshark is interested in balancing the game, not to make any class unplayable by any means. That is what we should focus on, too.
I’ve actually made several threads and comments about balance changes since phase 2 as well as bug reports, and have read quite a few of the threads that you have posted., as well as fully reading your posts on this one. But please, be more dismissive, it helps prove my points about you. Simply put, this game is not VT1, and trying to make it the exact same game is not going to happen. You clearly disagree with many of the design choices that fatshark made for this game, specifically that they are trying to appeal to a wider audience with more class options, playstyles, and being more casual.
I actually think that Waystalker is in a great place now and never opposed nerfs to her, but you’re waging a vendetta against anything you see as bad, but your viewpoint is so warped that instead of adapting to the new game, you’re just trying to make it the same as the old one. Or into something that the game clearly is not. Adapt to what the game actually is instead of trying to impose your will on every little aspect that you disagree with.
wrong. what they did to her passive changed how her talents function and now requires her to take so much damage as to float between 31% and 49% hp. 2/3 of her level 15 talent will only work if she is below 50%, and one of her talents rewards her for being above 30%. she has o walk around eating hits regularly which supports bad learning habbits for a character people refer to as a “noob magnet” because they are incentivized to take damage instead of blocking and dodging. Before, it still wasn’t optimal because she still had to have damage on her for 2 of her talents to function, but at least it wasn’t “if anything hit’s me i’m gonna die because we have books… so… shoot me so i can heal you” levels of ridiculous. people want her stuff to be reliant on skill but then they are fine with a change that forces the opposite. her level 15 talents should function when at full to force her to learn some skill and play well. Dodge and block those hits if you want to keep your ammo regen. And the Waystalker changes aren’t the only class changes that are making me facepalm… they are just a very good example of, “what the crap was going through your head when you thought this was a good idea?”
well here’s hoping that’s how it ends up because i have seen a lot of people pushing to try and have kerillian rendered so unfavorable to play that they won’t have to see her be played.
The careers could have used some tweeks sure, and that would have been fine… but what happened instead was a lot of stufff getting gutted, at least that’s what it looks at face value. change isn’t always bad, the damage adjustments were much needed for example to help bring a couple careers in line from doing “wtf?” damage in 5 seconds or less… removing bonus ammo from ranged specializations and taking away their ability to snipe those blightstormers that cast from a mile away… was not a good change. why have a ranged specialization at that point if it’s basically just a worse melee career? a lot of the career changes specifically feel like knee jerk reactions to complaints about scoreboard results because of meaningless kills due to ranged attacks… which is why i also think the scoreboard needs to go… it only seems to make people salty and give them false ideas of what is and isn’t balanced, completely ignoring what happens in a game and how people actually contribute… racing for meaningless kills to try and pad their epeen… it isn’t helping reinforce teamwork in a coop game, it’s making people take the approach that their team members are opponents to be defeated…
I wouldn’t even be mad about your constant bitching if you posted actual number values and proposed things like actionable percentage changes and real stat nerfs instead of just “Nerf ranged its too op” In Multiple threads at the same time like you did in the last beta stage. I’ve proposed actual changes to pyro in other threads that would reduce her ranged dominance. All you do is complain.
You just assumed that i am not qualified to give feedback, so i answered to that in a similar logical manner. I think even people only playing recruit are qualified by the way.
I did give some suggestions and even numbers in other threads, but i believe that the people at Fatshark are more qualified, especially at determining the right numbers.
You make a very good point with the talents tied to her passive. You should probably start another thread for that. That are some serious problems, but will probably get fixed soon. As far as i am concerned Waystalker is still doing good compared to other classes. It might take some effort to make her work, like it does for other classes, now.
I see… so stopping “endless” spam to vent is called"endlessly spamming" Got it.
Yes please, stand in the back on champion while shooting through your teammates dealing with a horde.=)
Taking things out of context and twisting my words. The phrase i used earlier was nearly endless as you have to stop venting without any consequences .
Standing in the back and ignoring friendly fire is what a lot of people do, but there is also the option to stand slightly to the side. After some playthroughs of a mission, you know where most enemies spawn and can use that knowledge to position yourself.
After everyone demanding the gutting of a lot of careers and being hateful and harassing others, I have no more patience.
There is nothing wrong with her being unique in this fashion. It’s also only effective against hordes where she can amass white health to vent. It has far less value otherwise. This could also be health that protects her from specials/random mobs that might hit her.
Which if people want to play like that, then so be it. There is literally no good reason to dictate how other people play. The options are there for the players. When you remove all variety, then why bother with careers? Why bother with traits? Or anything at all. It’s like how there are many weapons which all serve various purposes. They have their strengths and weaknesses.
Yep. Some unknown hatred for the character drives people to want to ruin enjoyment for others.
Yeah. Somehow this is how it turned out for a lot of people. It’s literally just a “Oh that’s cool” screen. But people just wave their dongs around trying to prove nothing to no one.
This. It’s usually not too difficult for people to position properly so you can unleash while they take down whatever gets past your death volley(or whatever staff you might use). I’m also pretty good at not hitting allies. Characters like Sienna are exceptional at taking down hordes, so it should come as no surprise when she does her job the way she was meant to. It’s basically her strongest trait from a design standpoint. She has options to do other things though.
Make venting take only green hp maybe?
only spamming I see is from OP.
I think one of the problems here is everyone comparing the classes to one another in terms of their abilities. Another thing that needs to be taken into account is legend difficulty. I’m not sure how many people here have actually even tried it, but you NEED the spam. Legend feels like every clan rat has been replaced by a stormvermin and every slave rat by a clan rat. Specials spawn at a high rate and you need to stay with your team because they almost always die if they get grabbed and aren’t saved instantly. Having this spam makes it much easier to push through all the specials you need to deal with. Kerillians healing is pretty much useless here and they both die extremely fast (unless you play unchained). Bosses have extremely large health pools and you need to have someone to draw aggro while the others kill it. Without ranged you can almost forget about killing a boss or even getting through legend. You need the spam, a lot of defensive playing and teamwork
Edit: I also haven’t seen anyone talking about bounty hunter with the revolving gun and level 15 trait
You literally just described the reason to live for @xplosive
still thinking about me huh. the spear nerf must have really hit you pretty hard but again, it was a needed change.
