Should Darktide, Get Horde Mode/Survival Mode?

Killing Floor Style, Is getting lame overtime, It doesn’t really have a really good replayablity, also i rather people bring their own builds and weapons to the gamemode instead of finding them, But that could be split of two modes in the survival mode. “Kill and collect and buy to get stronger” type of thing. I played Killing Floor but it gets boring after 20 hours, The only joyful part in KF is the killing that’s all. Like in darktide but better in darktide.

Gears of War’s Horde mode, It’s a whole a*s gamemode to talk about, Never played it. But i seen gameplay. I would go simple for people to understand it easy. Just kill and survive. It reminds me of call of duty zombies, I don’t know how.

Rewards, The rewards are resources, Depends on the difficulty is played on. I have it setup and fairly balanced loot to be rewarded with. For every wave of course. (It doubles at wave 40+)

  • But other rewards such like Cosmetics, Titles, Frames, it’s the developer choice.

“And getting into wave 20 is 2.6 hours”
The only issue i had finding the sweet spot of how much long a wave should end, Was always around (5-10 mins)

  • I tried to think of 5 mins before, But thinking how much stress could create, If there is still enemies remain. But i don’t know the limits of the engine, I never seen the code. So i just guessed 8 mins, For the meantime. Reasons like, The rewards for every wave and instead of making it much harder by adding more Special Conditions to spicy up the survival mode. But instead making it 8 mins would make it longer and also getting to wave 20, Is rewardful like finishing any mission. But a bit longer, But for a price for just fighting without objective and longer plays. Making it quick just makes it boring if you finishing it faster and faster. 8 Mins is the most balanced number i thought about. Depends how the map is built. I would guess better depends on the map size. (Bigger map means time is longer, Smaller map means time is shorter). That would fix the problem because you walk alot more then the smaller map and also where all enemies spawn from are much longer walk to get to you. Thinking of all possibility is important.
  • The reason WHY? is 2.6 hours long, It’s long enough to make it enjoyable for long enough. Until it gets really difficult. When things gets difficult some players just give up and don’t touch it. Instead making it longer to play helps the joy of endless killing for the less skilled players. But of course the skilled players want a challenge. That’s why i also added the idea of giving difficulties to players to choose, It gets harder and harder until you break.

If this answers the issue why it’s long as 2.6 hours just to finish my gamemode idea, and i hope it lets you understand why that long.
